Bonnie...Thank you for such a succinct and easy tutorial for learning the Celtic Cable stitch! I have watched MANY and gave up trying to learn it. That is until this video popped up in my feed yesterday. I watched it halfway and then started it over while I had yarn and hook in hand. Very excited and grateful to learn this stitch! Again, thank you! 💖✨🧶
One of the best tutorial. It might be complex pattern for beginners but you have explained so easily. Thank you very much for sharing and teaching this. Love from Australia, brisbane.
What a piece of Art! I can just see the cape draped over a beautiful silk wedding dress! Oh must buy the pattern! Thank you Bonnie for all your beautiful patterns! 🥰🧶🌼
I am fairly new to crochet and wanted to try something of a challenge and this was brilliant it’s beautiful and your explaining is great. Thank you for your time making and showing this to us 🤗
Thank you for the comprehensive pattern ! If I could start this project over again, I would certainly begin with eight chains LESS than instructed as I would prefer a tighter neck area and intend to add more rows to create a tighter neck area at the finish. At the end, I shall also create a final row of single crochet before adding beads for structure and weight. Additionally, as I take a close look at the finished piece and count the basketweave rows, It is unmistakable that the basket weave is continued for an additional two rows, becoming Rows 11 and 12.
This is very beautiful ☘🇮🇪 I'm going to have to get the perfect yarn for this one. Thank you for showing us this one, I love this!🤗 Have a beautiful blessed day 🙏🏻🤗☘
My arm is healing up from an injury but I can’t wait to crochet again. I’m watching this so I can remember how fun it was 😂 Can’t wait to make this cape.

Very elegant. I just started this for my 9 year old granddaughter, but in her favorite color, pink. She is going to love it. I am also currently working on your Celtic Mandala throw. Thanks for another beautiful pattern!
I am making this in a silk thread. The collar is silver gray and the lacy part is deep blue. I have just started the lace section and can’t wait to see how it looks.
LOVE the yarn and the pattern is scrumptious for summer! Athough the cotton in this yarn is fairly stable, it still has stretch. When I do this pattern, I'll probaby use 1 size smaller hook for the starting chain and the celtic weave stitches. Have a lovely week! My lilacs are in bloom and I'll pull my lounge chair close to those on the patio when I start this one.

Absolutely gorgeous! I have an Irish friend I would like to make this for but she is a big lady. Her blouse size is an American plus size 26 and she has a big chest. Would I need to add extra rounds to allow it to be enlarged in the chest area or would I need to add more to that first round, adding more cables and lace or just more lace? Or is this truly a one size fits all? I will be using cotton for it, and as you day, with cotton it will stretch a little. But if I make it for her I want it to fit and for her not to just see it but be unable to wear it. Ideally I would like her to be surprised when she gets it rather than asking her to try it on every round or two to make sure it is going to fit. Thanks for any insight you can give me. The only other way I could think of to do something like this is instead of doing it in the round, to go back and forth and use a shawl pin to attach the capelette together. Thanks again!
You can add multiples of 12 to the original starting chain on this one Shelley. Just keep in mind that the number of stitches in the collar will double from Round 1 to the last round (of Celtic Weave). So when you add 12 sts to the neckline, that will be 24 extra stitches in the upper arm area.
Wow this looks amazing🎉. I am so sad that I don't have much time left to crochet anymore objects. Because I am working all day long. I miss crocheting and knitting so much 😢. But I will try to change that. I love your projects and tutorials ❤.
Maybe a few minutes here and a few minutes there? When my kids were young (all 5 of them), the only time I had for crochet was during long van trips during the holidays, and doctor's offices.
@@BonnieBayCrochet yes you are right. I tried and will try further to crochet at least a few rows here and there! I will hope that in the future I will have more spare time again to crochet more of your lovely tutorials! Only that thought keeps me above water! Please don't ever stop teaching your great projects ❤
Hi! I did it! I actually finished this cape! I love it. I also crocheted some pearls in the collar and in the braids. And as finishing I took instead of pearls some little metallic leaves. Because I had not your ingredients to cook with😅! It is amazing! Thank you Bonnie for your support and teaching tutorials!❤
The standing stones in Scotland and Ireland, with the Celtic knots and weaving patterns stand as a testament to the age of hook looping (crochet) and the techniques used. I haven't found any other textiles that can reproduce the patterns so naturally.
@@BonnieBayCrochet It occurred to me that I have a healthy dose of Scottish in me from my great grandma. I always thought of myself as French English, but it's more like French Scottish English. I'm floored by your cape. It's BEAUTIFUL!
Love it so much! Just made a second one 😁 I'm going to add a draw string around the top and give it to my daughter to wear as a skirt over shorts or bathing suit.😉❤️
I have some merino with what I call crazy colors. Its finger weight. Lol I call most of those that change colors too crazy for me! I bought this from that place that sells that cliffs of mother yarn. You mentioned that yarn on a scarf I made. Yes lol I just had to give it a try! Its not totally soft. But enough! And omg its sturdy. Well I bought all of this yarn to make a queen blanket--weaving. I bought plenty of extra as I'm a newbie weaver. Well I went overboard! My niece will love this. But I'm told she would love this a lot longer. I only have about 3 weeks and I'm slow! Thanks so much! It will match "her" blanket!
Two things that are missing for this pattern on love crafts is the yardage needed and the sizing. I need to know if it will fit around me through the shoulders and the tummy. I also need to know if I already have enough yarn. Could you please let me know?
This information is included in the written pattern. I'll post here for you Kelly: Yarn - approx. 800 yds of your choice of #2 yarn (I used 3 balls of Premier Yarn's Cotton Fair in video tutorial, 317 yd/290 m per ball.) This is a one size fits most design (neck opening approx. 28", length from collar edge to bottom approx. 20.5"). You can increase for larger sizes by adding multiples of 12 to the starting chain. (This will double the number of stitches overall at the bottom edge of the collar.)
