Toys for Bob dropped the ball big time, this game is just too hard. Old Crash games were hard as a kid because those games were meant to kids with a fair challenge. This is just brutal and way too hard even for adults. Last Toys for Bob game I'm ever gonna purchase.

Wow, it's the same comments on every IGN review and yet it's first channel they watch for game reviews. Should IGN give every game a 9 or 10? Usually IGN is too generous with reviews but this one felt right. 8 was a pretty accurate score. Which is still a great game.
Some consistency could have been nice. Almost no negative points where mentioned in the review, but the final score was 8! That does not make any sense.
IGN should get rid of the 10 point rating scale. It’s a joke at this point. Something like the “buy, rent, wait for sale or avoid” makes way more sense.
so glad the landing indicator is optional. I guess my only complaint so far (without having played it yet) is the running animation and Tawna's jarring redesign.
The first thing i did when started this game, I picked Retro mode and took away that yellow circle under Crash. That mode is for game journalist. This is a true sequel too the original trilogy, even harder and more fun. 10/10
When Nintendo does their Crash DLC Reveal for Smash Bros, they need to reference the PS1 commercials where he's outside Nintendo HQ taunting them with a megaphone. Maybe Mario is inside hearing it and comes outside to jump on him.
There's a lot to like about this game, but getting 100% seems like it'll be such a nightmare that I won't even try. And I'm someone who gets 100% on almost every game I play, including the original Crash games multiple times. The levels are just too long. When you spend 30 minutes to an hour trying to get all of the crates in a level, only to find out that you missed some, it's super disheartening and you don't really ever want to try it again.
Great game. I just wish they made the evil characters have darker personalities like in Crash 2/3. It's very kid friendly but the originals had an edge to the characters, especially the voiceovers
I'm so hyped about this game that I even requested the 2nd off so I could spend the day playing the game. Any new crash game that sticks to its roots is a must to satisfy my childhood desires and willing to play any spinoff they release.
I hope it's long. After playing 3 games straight in their last release I hope they went all out and made a long game. Also certain elements of games like these are a lot easier to do than they were in the 90's so there is no reason it should be short.
Christ almighty. That's not how reviews work, doofus. You don't START at Ten then lower the number based on problems. He LIKED the game and thought it was an 8 overall, WTF is so hard to grasp about that??? SMFH
Probably I'll get some hassle for saying this (because nowadays any criticism is perceived as just being negative for no reason), but while I very much enjoy the game, it does have some serious flaws: the scenery, music, plot, callbacks to old games etc. are all top-notch, and it's a brilliant game if you're just trying to beat the story/play casually. However it's absolutely brutal if you're aiming for more than that. And I don't mean "hard but you'll manage it with enough practice", I mean "sadistically, maliciously, unforgivingly punishing for no reason other than to attempt to drive you to throw your controller through the TV". I'm a Crash veteran, 100-105-whatever needed% the 3 original games + Twinsanity and other notables. But this game will absolutely not be 100%ed. Not even close, by almost anyone I don't believe. The levels are extremely long, and have so many boxes, almost all of which have some put in locations you'd never know of (game gives you no indication they're there in most cases), that you will almost certainly miss some despite playing extremely well, then have to redo a level that takes ages to finish because it's so long. Now repeat that 10 times because it's also so difficult. Repeat that 10 times for each level (there's around 100 levels). You'll probably be on suicide watch pretty soon. That's not even geting into the relics, which are nightmarish in a game with such difficulty + such long levels. Die, and it's time to redo a 30 minute long level. And you will die. A lot. To sum it up, the game is awesome for casual purposes. But when it comes to truly beating it I'm not sure who it was made for. Crash veterans? I think it's too extreme even for a lot of us. New players? They're going to get annihilated. The 1% of hardcore record-setters who don't represent most players? I suppose it's for them.
Getting 100% isn’t even the impossible part, it’s hard as hell but the real impossible task is if your trying to get 106% with the secret ending. You have to beat every level and inverted level getting every fruit and crate without dying and every platinum relic on every level in the game as well. It’s completely insane
The way he described it, it sounded almost like a 10 or at least a definite 9. Didn’t hear enough problems for it to be an 8.

@@bingobongo1615 he didnt mention the game being short. Not saying it isn't true but he should have mentioned it if that was the reason to take off another point
Compliments everything with only one very minor downside. Gives an 8
that circle around his shadow would actually be so handy! i kept dying on the remaster trilogy because I keep thing I've made the gap when actually i fall down the hole lol. depth perception seemed a bit off
This is what I want to hear. I loved the original trilogy and was surprised it took this long to make a platformer like this since Wrath of Cortex. Looks like I'm picking this up tomorrow.
I just realized, the Blue Quantum Mask is voiced by Richard Horvitz
Finally, a true sequel that was made with love and thought from its original trilogy predecessors
If only harambe was here to see this amazing masterpiece :(
:(
The games sadistic difficulty kinda ruins it for me tbh. Still a great game though
The review was pretty much you gushing over the game and the way you worded it sounded like the game was dang near perfect. So why an 8? This game deserves at least a 9.5 as this game was a job really well done. Shout outs to Toys for Bob.
I thought he is gonna say this game is a “masterpiece”.
The game is a masterpiece in my opinion.
Is not masterpiece, many need to ease on the hype and nostalgia though
jen isia you clearly didn’t get my sarcasm.
@@FrelonSabre and that exactly is the main issue with comments here, a flood of "im happy Crash is Back" "i missed crash" and other's "this game is a masterpiece" "is the best Crash". Ton of Hype and Nostalgia. Let the hype down a bit and view it in a more objective way.
Toys for Bob dropped the ball big time, this game is just too hard. Old Crash games were hard as a kid because those games were meant to kids with a fair challenge. This is just brutal and way too hard even for adults. Last Toys for Bob game I'm ever gonna purchase.
Man, that looks incredibly frustrating.
Can't wait to play it!
crash is defin the most fun yet frustrating game ever. one minute you're smiling, the other you're throwing your controller out the window lmao it's part of the charm, i guess
Toys for Bob really know how to remaster and remake a series.
Certainly don't agree, from level 2 it's difficult with little to no award at all, camera angles a nightmare and just really unforgiving as a game.
4/10
Who's here playing the very first Bandicoots on PS1? Oh man how time flies and now I'm old man in his 30s...
It’s a 10 for me or at the very least a 9.5..I’ve never played a platformer that’s this addictively fun and exciting
Crash will always get a 10 from me! The game looks amazing and fun to play!
Ps plus July gang here first
I like how Crash Bandicoot goes crazy for the adventure to try and prevent Dr Neo Cortex and his allies from destroying the world, like a maniac.
I disagree with the score. It should’ve been a 9/10
Wow, it's the same comments on every IGN review and yet it's first channel they watch for game reviews. Should IGN give every game a 9 or 10? Usually IGN is too generous with reviews but this one felt right. 8 was a pretty accurate score. Which is still a great game.
Anyone here think this game looks like the greatest 3D platformer of all time??
Someone haven’t played platformers I think
@@twimc4746 what's better?
Ratchet and clank, super mario odyssey and super mario galaxy 2
Nice one, Subscribed, Please keep it coming..
Some consistency could have been nice. Almost no negative points where mentioned in the review, but the final score was 8! That does not make any sense.
The ONLY flaw I have with Crash 4 is we should’ve gotten more of N Sanity Beach. Cause thats classic crash.
While I’m more of a Spyro fan, I hope the same treatment is for the Purple guy in the future.
Congrats Crash fans!
Well, there's references to Spyro in the game, so I think Spyro 4 is in the works...
IGN should get rid of the 10 point rating scale. It’s a joke at this point. Something like the “buy, rent, wait for sale or avoid” makes way more sense.
they should get rid of ratings at all. Just review it. People are dumb enough to think 8 is a bad rating.
LMAO Raves about the game, gives it an 8 when he reviewed it like a 9.5.....IGN gonna IGN
so glad the landing indicator is optional.
10/10
I mean I've died a lot in retro and with the amount of lives they throw at you i dont see a difference between modern and retro
When you spend 30 minutes to an hour trying to get all of the crates in a level, only to find out that you missed some, it's super disheartening and you don't really ever want to try it again.
the platinum relics are ridiculousssss
I've played all 5 crash games on the ps1, and all 6 crash games on the ps2. This feels so natural to the franchise yet so creative.
Great game. I just wish they made the evil characters have darker personalities like in Crash 2/3. It's very kid friendly but the originals had an edge to the characters, especially the voiceovers
Did you guys cut the part where you take out 2 points?
The score makes no sense. It doesn't reflect the whole review. WTH.
Yes it does.
8 is great.
You can give a 8 with little to no Negatives.

Unless your completely insane then don’t go for 116% 😂 its impossibly hard
I'm so hyped about this game that I even requested the 2nd off so I could spend the day playing the game. Any new crash game that sticks to its roots is a must to satisfy my childhood desires and willing to play any spinoff they release.
They brought back Spyro and crash successfully . How about Sly Cooper ?
“This game really makes you feel like Crash Badicoot.”
“BE THE BATMAN”
I hope it's long. After playing 3 games straight in their last release I hope they went all out and made a long game. Also certain elements of games like these are a lot easier to do than they were in the 90's so there is no reason it should be short.
5:52. 'Feels so great.' Literally nailed it.
Is this game longer than 3 games before? And there are only 4 playable characters because the devs said it'll be more than that?
"Damn, they love this game."

Finished it today. Towards the end the levels become very challenging. Currently on the PS4 less than 9% of players reached the finish line.
I love this game. It's everything I hoped for from the classic games. Surprisingly difficult, too.
Yeah on a casual run this game is the best Crash game to date hands down at least for me, but going for 100% is a bit of a nightmare
Getting 100% isn’t even the impossible part, it’s hard as hell but the real impossible task is if your trying to get 106% with the secret ending. You have to beat every level and inverted level getting every fruit and crate without dying and every platinum relic on every level in the game as well. It’s completely insane
One of the only game franchise that kept it simple.
Available on PC finally, the platform it should be enjoyed on tbh. Let's crank up the pixels and fun, can't wait!
