Oh, how I wish my son in law could have one of these. They have 36 wooded acres back of their home that really needs some trees cut. But loggers make such a mess and are expensive too. The sale of the timber wouldn’t bring much and he would need to hire clean up people. This machine is like having several workers at once… just amazing. I will share with him.

Put a stout grapple on the front of that Skid Steer and you'll be doing the Snoopy dance out of happiness! Way more versatile than the clipper and depending on the root system of the particular tree you're taking out you can get the entire root ball out, and make very short work out of pilling up the limbs into a brush pile. The clipper is ideal for trimming low hanging limbs on trees you want to save.

14:30 - bring out a wood chipper...chip up all that wood you cut down and use the chips to fill in the ditch. Yes, the chips will degrade over time, but it should be solid enough for ATVs and the like to run over and remain upright. You can refresh the chips as time goes by and they decompose.

Daniel, your next investment should be a brush mower for the front of your skidsteer!! They are an absolute game changer. I have a 74 hp bobcat with a bobcat mower. I can cut up to 6" diameter with it. It makes maintaining trails so much easier I rarely use my tractor and bush hog anymore.

New Holland C337 is basically a CASE TV 370 B. Makes sense, as they are both made by CNHI (Case New Holland Industries).
Only difference I can see between the 2 is the Case will run 8 mph, where the New Holland will only do 5.5.

The only other piece of equipment that I think you could use on your farm is a mini excavator. Then you could do just about anything you needed to do on both of your farms. A mini excavator would have been perfect for clearing that trail without leaving short stumps. I’m know it’s much cheaper to rent one than to buy one but I still think it would come in very handy and I think you would use it more often than you think. You made an excellent purchase of the compact track loader. You will use it a lot with all your attachments.

Daniel, I would take some of those trees that are long and straight and cut them 8-10 foot long and put them by your fence, then get yourself an auger attachement for the loader and auger some holes along your fence line and fill in some places where your fence posts are getting thin. Can't beat free fence posts. On the auger you can make a lightweight folding attachment that pushes the fence wire back out of the way and holds it as you auger it. I imagine it with a chain and weight at the bottom, swing the auger twards the machine and push to the fence and then swing the auger while the chain holds the fence back and then auger and as it goes down the chain piles up, or use some angle iron that is hinged and collapses as the auger goes down but still holds the fence back while you auger holes.

Not sure what's the point is in clipping those small trees and leaving a stump. With that size skid steer, you could have just pushed them over and uprooted them, completely leaving no stump in the ground. But I guess it's kind of fun clipping away with a new toy.
