It’s been 7 years and my card wasn’t working with the other set up, now your video reminded me of another way to set it up!! Thanks soooo much !
Awesome! I just got mine today and can’t wait to try it out!
Thanks for the explanation, great video, just an observation you didn't explain the video game control and headphones inputs .
oh me god, I finally got it, the difference was understanding which session i wanted, I got it to work, thank you so so so much
Cheers mate. Easy to follow and we'll explained 👍
This was very helpful! Thank you for this video
Thanks. Very helpful. I'm using it for a Switch playing Smash Bros with folks at parks and such.
same!
Hey, thanks for the simple, straightforward explanation of this gizmo works. Based on the various descriptions I read, it *sounded* like what I needed, but I was looking for some solid, positive confirmation of how it works before I pulled the trigger to buy one. Which I just did. Thanks again!!
Great video.Chances are if you purchased a capture card you already know how to do the setup part.Problem is getting it setup on the broadcasting software like OBS to get all the audio working correctly.
Yeah, every video that I've seen skips this important info. Makes the videos pretty much a rehash of ever other video on it with minimal beneficial info. It's helpful for people that haven't bought one yet, but not for those that are trying to figure out how to make the best use of one they already have.
this was so helpful. thank you so much!!!
Nice and concise. Love it.
Excellent. They may be what I am looking for. I have been using the agptek card capture the past year. It is my first one. it is terrible. Constant corrupted files and bad audio. All of my videos are out of sync these days. I am trying to record Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 and it is a headache.
Awesome 👌 tkx just pick my 1st one up today
Great video thanks for the info!!!
Big help thank you so much!
Nice! I think I'll grab one from best buy and check it out!
Just literally got mine for Christmas and I'm fucking lost.... Thanks for the info lol
i bought it from best buy around that time and now i am broke and i havent used it once
hey mate thanks for the video. will it still record with no screen plugged in? my use case is a little different - i only need to record HDMI input - I don't need to see the output
This was very helpful, considering I have Autism, things are more difficult for me. Even though you didn't full explain what the modes do from switching it directly on the base, I was able to figure it out just a little bit.
And, thanks a lot. This really helped me out.
Awww, thanks for the kind words. :) And glad you found it somewhat helpful.
When you record gameplay to the sd card what is the bitrate of the videos?? To check that right click on the video on the PC and click properties ,then click details and there you can see the bitrate. Can you please tell the the bitrate of the videos which was recorded in the sd card?
Love the video I hope someone can answer this question I have my reccentral 4 application keeps crashing when I try to switch it over to my PC! Any one have any advise? Is it compatiable to use it for a gaming pc to streaming pc instead of a console?
I may have a question: May I use this Live Gamer Portable 2 Plus for screen recording - for example, if I want to produce Windows software tutorials and not wanting to install any screen recording soft?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Can you connect an external hard drive to your console in place of the MicroSD? Seems like it would be much more efficient.
This is good for game play? And live stream? And the sound? Just plug micro and headphone?
Just a quick question does the recording resolution depend on monitor or tv or it can record like 4k
Hello! Very good video. I have a question. With this configuration that our in the video is enough to broadcast live on Facebook or do I need a laptop and software? Thank you all for your answers!
Marlon Lozano you do need a computer
If you wanna livestream, then yes. PC-free does offline recording.
However, what you CAN do is record via PC free THEN upload your footage to Facebook as a VOD and not a live video
Salamat kaibigan
Sick dope! thanxz
I have a Nikon camera. Can I use this as a normal pass-through card for live streaming on zoom?
Thank you very much. Sucks i could not record as soon as I got it out the box. I forgot it may need to update before i go pc free mode first 😂
What are the front ports, cuz I do want my party chat to go through and stuff when I stream, etc
any idea on where we could buy here in the Manila PH?
thanks!
Thanks so much
i got 4 questions for you. 1. can i connect my headset (turtle beach elite pro 2 with super amp) with this game capture? 2. once it capture my voice from the headset, hindi ba siya sabog? maganda parin ba ang sound while the game audio plays in the background? or do i need to capture my voice seperately using audacity? 3. can i take the SD card and put it in my imac to edit the footage using final cut pro? 4. can i stream on my playstation 4 live and at the same time do recording using this game capture? please response because im torn a part between avermedia and elgato.
1. If it uses a 3.55 connector, then you should be good
2. I havent tested recording with a headset via the capture card. Honestly, I would recommend that you capture audio separately with something like audacity as you said. It gives you much more control and options with your videos.
3. Not sure with Macs but yes, I would think that you should be able to as long as your video editing software can run MOV files. (or if you can convert the MOV files to whatever format you want first before editing)
4. Using programs like OBS or Xsplit, you should be able to. At that point, it would just be a question of if your CPU / Memory / GPU can handle it.
Sorry for the late reply but I hope this still helps!
Could I plug the USB out of the Live Gamer into a USB hub with other USB devices? I'm on a mac and trying to figure out logistics. Thank you for your video!
If you're using it for PC-Free recording then yes as it just uses the USB port as a power source.
Can you do it for a set up with ps4 and pc for live streaming?
Hi I have bought this can you explain the audio thing because I am a little confused
Very helpful Is there any special micro sd cards to have
Yup! You'll need one to slot in to save your recordings.
Can i also transfer PS4 clips recorded by PS4 to the recorder to convert them from low quality to higher quality.
Where do you go from there? How do you get it on your computer??
So you covered recording, but what about streaming? Xbox and Playstation would likely be simple since they both hate innate streaming capabilities, but what about streaming from a Switch?
can I plug in headphones to it to capture my voice over the recording?
How many files will save if also recording my voice thru a mic?
Do audio and video files save separate or is it all one file?
Do I need a PC to update it? I plan on using this for gaming on my iPad Pro 2020
We'd recommend that you record your voice separately just for better control. You can use your headphones with this though to listen. The recording is done as one file for both sound and video. and yes, you will need to hook it up to your pc to initially update firmware but that's only in the beginning.
Thanks subscribed
Great vid
tnx man
When I discharge the sd card from live portable and used it with sd card adapter to transfer the recorded file but it can't be transferred. Is there a way I can used sd card adpater to transfer?
with the micro card you don't need the RECcentral firmware, I think I understand
Hi, I would love to use this device in PC mode with tiny/small PC with very low power consumption. Does any of you have any experience using it with not powerfull PCs? i3, Atoms, Celerons, Pentiums, generarly 2core CPU? Please post your experiences !
awesome video
Thanks! Really glad you liked it!
Quick question. For streaming, could I still play my game on my 4K TV while streaming to my laptop with this? Or do I have to plug PS4 pro to this and another one goes directly to my laptop? Meaning skipping the TV?
You can definitely stream this on your laptop while playing on your 4K TV :)
If I am using SD CARD recording, how do I change the volume of my commentary vs the game? This is on the switch so there aren’t any native headset volume controls btw
I have an issue... when I press the button to begin recording in PC free mode, it sometimes cuts the video from my TV, but always never behind the recording... at least to my knowledge. It doesn’t ever change to a pulsating red color, it just stays blue, and nothing happens ):
I have that as my Pc free recording capture card but i wanted to know if you can add voice on discord and commentary too. Im having problem in voice on discord while doing the recording stuff.
So what we do is we usually record voice separately via another program. All you have to do is sync the video and audio during editing :)
UnGeek PH separate voice recording? Hmm well im still going to experiment on what to do and it might be on the 3.5 jack cables though im still having a buzzing sound so it might be possible to experiment on the 3.5 party chat port with a little trick though of a 3 pin 3.5 jack i hope it works though fingers crossed.
how do i view the stuff i recorded? And it says no signal, after i plugged the usb in my computer and the hdmi out to my computer monitor? I just wanna record my gameplay for warzone when I'm playing on my computer
can this be used for tv nintendo?
I'm having issues with my setup, please help. I ordered a GC513 lgp2+ and a J-Tech Digital Audio Extractor Converter.
1. I wish to record footage of my Roku device to help make a tutorial on changing your location in the PBS kids channel to get different episodes available to watch for free.
2. I installed a 500gb micro sd card on my GC513 lgp2+ and installed the firmware and UNchecked the HDCP option.
3. After I plug everything in, my device still shows a solid red light in PC Free mode and won't record anything. Not to mention, the TV screen is solid black.
4. I tested the device with my blu ray player, exact same results.
5. I tested it out with my ps4(after UNchecking the PS4's HDCP option.) The video is now working, but the light on the lgp2+ is still solid red.
Do you need a super strong PC or anything do the job? I want to record the gameplay directly on my PC.
Your GPU, CPU, and Memory should be up to snuff for it. So yeah.
how do I connect an AStro a40 to the LGP2 and record the audio party chat of a ps4?
need help with this too, for xbox
Also. it would be so appreciated if you could work through the different audio setups one can use as i have had endless problems. I use Streamlabs and have a set of A50 headphones. However, I can hear the game audio through my headphones but the mic does not work I have the cable running from capture card to controller using my mobile phone earphones from the capture card to capture party chat. However, what does one do if you do NOT want your party chat to be broadcast and how on earth do I get my A50 headphones microphone to work please? The whole audio setup thing in Streamlabs is so confusing also. It would be so appreciated if you could give us a couple of videos re A50 headset setup using Streamlabs and also, how to cut party chat being heard on stream.
I would honestly recommend that migrating your party chat to another source like Discord. Basically, just use the PS4 for capture of gameplay / game video / game sound. Migrate your party chat over to your PC via discord. That should make things more controllable for you. :)
not sure if you ever got this figured out or not without switching to discord. i know on obs it is extremely easy and only 1 MAYBE 2 settings you need to change but you will have to use an external mic connected to the ps4. your audio will be coming from your computer. there are also some splitters that you can get that will help aswell. but can be done without migrating to discord. though it is a better option in some instances.
Thanks folks.... I already use Discord sometimes for party chat (when Xbox party chat does not work for some reason or another) but have managed to get it to work. However, it is Streamlabs that I have a problem with. I can't seem to stop the system recording to my VOD's, especially when I multi-stream. My Twitch vods save without my music recording when using Streamlabs, but my multi-stream vods to FB and UA-cam seem to save WITH the music recorded? Ridiculous. Hence I just don't multi-stream anymore which is a shame. However, if I use StreamElements (which I am now doing), it has only one box you untick (Channel 2) in StreamElements and it does not record to VOD's, however, I do not multi-stream from StreamElements as you have to pay extra for that. With StreamLabs, as a paying member etc. the multi-stream option is free. I also use VoiceMeter Potato atm to split my sound (I use an external mic and pc sound card). However, I paid for a entire year's sub to Streamlabs (who refuse to give me a refund, by the way) and cannot get the same to work on Streamlabs. So in essence, I have wasted a year's sub to Streamlabs. (I use an AverMedia Plus 2 capture card).
i have a question: do you need to have the console plugged into the tv/monitor at the same time as the avermedia being plugged?
Basically the console will be connected to the Avermedia device which, in turn, will be connected to the TV/ Monitor
Will it work with PS4 base ? Please help me !
recommend some supplier pls
hey does your capture card get pretty hot and warm on the bottom when not using it just having it plugged in because my does i have the same one as you do after a 2 hour stream i do on twitch it overheats a bit
Using this particular capture card, it's gotten warm yes but haven't had any overheating issues. And we've done extensive recording sessions on this for more than 12 hours. :)
@@UnGeekPH aw ok thanks glad too know i am not the only one with this getting mildly hot . a streamer on youtube said hs exploded while doing a 2 hour stream but he owned his for 2 years so ya i was worried about that . but i still unplug my capture because of it
@@roninstormYT Yeah I mean, we usually have this running for events and, for example, for FF7R, this was recording for almost all of the hours we played it hahaha So I think yours will be fine :)
@@UnGeekPH ok good i was just worried why it would get a bit hot after streaming on twitch for 2 hours this capture card
does this work for dual pc setup?
Haven't seen a store that sells avermedia (normally just elgato), where can we purchase one?
Datablitz should have :)
I got it at Best Buy
@@bjorndropshot8585 What is the online name of this device at Best Buy?
Can I use avermedia live streamer cam 313 for UA-cam?
Im trying to record directly onto the SD card from my Xbox one but it will only record a few seconds or nothing at all. How do I fix this?
why dint you tell about the audio setup, its a big problem... am freakin.....

This capture card doesn't want to power up again when switching between modes or unplugging from computer when doing other things.
Hey I have a 2 plus and I have a 1024 GB micro sd card I did all the steps but some how it doesn't work it shows Red even tho the micro sd card is already inside its brand new and before I had a 64 gb micro sd card im not sure if it has to do anything to do with GB or what not if you can please take your time on Reading this and text back it would be helpful and you will make my day
Dude let me get that couch ,where did you get that nike air couch
Can I connect a Webcam and an external HD without a PC?
What about adding your voice by using the front two 3.5mm ports, any way to properly do this? I tried it on mine, but I'm getting a humming sound along with my voice being low. And I have the volume on the device turned up along with my headset itself, game & console. Now my voice being too low might not bother me as much, the humming will.
Your getting interference somewhere. When that happened to me it was because I powered my USB Mic to the same USB tower as my LGP2. Once I changed that it stopped. I use my camera that has a good mic right into my capture since I don’t wear headphones. It picks up the tv and my voice and that goes into the lgp2. Interference was my issue and it was exactly as you described.
@@JMLRetroRoom hmm... so do you think I should power the device to its own supply (wall adapter) instead of my console powering it by the USB ports?
@@DGProlificsGitGudGaming I don’t know unless you’re also powering your headphones / mic the same way. For me I found that when I shared the same USB plug the Camera in my case interfered until I moved the power for that away from the same tower as my LGP2. My voice was low and there was a loud hum across the audio. Changing the cord didn’t work but moving my audio power to another spot entirely solved my issue.
@@JMLRetroRoom To use my headset (with mic), I plugged it up to the LGP2 (headset icon) and then I have the wire from the LGP2 (the other port) plugged into my controller. But you just caused a light bulb to go on in my head. Maybe I have a grounding issue (thought of it because of my car audio, lol). At the time I don't remember if I also plugged up my controller to the system along with having the LGP2 plugged up the same way. I'll try it both ways, to either not have my controller plugged up to the system while the LGP2 is plugged up to the system, or have the LGP2 plugged up using a separate power source other than my system itself.
@@DGProlificsGitGudGaming If I remember right, when you use a USB adapter for the LGP2, make sure it’s less than 2amps because I believe I dealt with that at one time as well.
If you don’t know, it says it maxes out at 128gb but I have a 256gb micro sd in mine. I’m think exFat is the format that gives you seamless recording that won’t stop at 4gb files too.
Does it come with the sd card
Can I use it with my game play on my Android phone ?
NO
How do I get around the HDCP settings on the PS3? It simply will not record because of it.
I have mine connected to my PC and it only plays in 1080p I have a 1440 monitor and it is shrinking the picture. Any help?
The problem I have with this is that if you use it with Streamlabs, you cannot simply press the record button as the button only works with the software it comes with. I don't use the software it comes with as I cannot seem to use overlays with the software it comes with. This is a disappointment since overlays are important to engage with your audience. Any suggestions please?
I use Avermedia with OBS actually. I never had to press the button. Basically, once connected, it SHOULD detect the LGP as a source.
Tol na try mona to sa PS5? Works great?
I put the hdmi cords in the right places and my tv stop showing game play. I've tried everything on the slider on the bottom right of the aver. Left is blue and middle and right are red. But just now my tv worked then I touch my controller and it stops again. Why?
Does it pass through HDCP? How much record time do you get?
You have to disable that. There's a setting on the PS to toggle for that. Record time is fully dictated by the side of your SD Card / Memory of your Drive
Yes I just got one but I have one question. Mine will record sound and footage fine but if I don't have my ps4 pro in all audio to headset it will only record the footage no sound. In order to get the sound back I have to take my chat settings and change them from chat only to all audio. Is this how it should work that it will not record sound unless I have the settings on all audio. Mine is just connected to a PS4 Pro not pc.
Ah, basically if you want to hear your audio through a headset WHILE recording, you have to connect it to the Avermedia Audio Ports instead of directly to the PlayStation. That way, the audio isn't routed away from the capture card :)
@@UnGeekPH oh no I wanted to Know if I can record the auido without having to be in all auido to headset so I can chat but have the sound coming from my tv or is that not possible because as soon as I change the headset to only chat coming through it I will record footage but no sound. For some reason it requires to be on all auido to headset if i want to get game sound.
@@rangersgameroom6704 Hmm I think that will depend on your set-up. You can do it either via TV purely or headset purely. not sure how to switch from one to the other midway sadly without changing your configuration
@@UnGeekPH I think I have a bad unit because even if I don't have the controller connected and headset and just have my tv and console connect if I try and record it will only record the image on the TV but no sound unless I connect my headset and controller to the device and set the audio settings in the ps4 pro to all audio because if I just put chat only same thing only will record image but no sound.
Como vc fez.pra funcionar o Pc Free pois fiz como explica no site e não deu certo
Hello I have 1 question:
Can I record PS3 without a pc? (I don't have a pc so I can't download updates drivers etc)
As long as a device has an HDMI and USB, it should be able to :)
Great 😍
So if I live stream on UA-cam using this device will it be on 1080p?
Yes. Max output for streaming and recording is 1080p 60fps
Does this thing record my microphone audio
Quick question. Why do I need to plug the output into my tv
TV or monitor. Basically the Capture Card works as an in-between for your Gaming Console and Monitor / TV
How about the files created by this capture card? How do we deal with it? I heard is records files under the extension MOV, which is not compatible with Premiere Pro - for instance.
- In this case, this capture card is useless, right?
It does record them as MOVs. I suggest you use a video converter such as Handbrake :)
@@UnGeekPH Wow... That's really annoying! 😮💨
Imagine making gameplay videos and before we can edit our gameplay footage in Adobe Premiere we have to convert it to mp4 - taking more time than necessary. like we have nothing better to do 🥱 thru which might lose image quality 2 times until the end of all processes.
To sum up:
- in PC Mode this capture card requires a Super Pc to funtion at optimal level - for what not even a 2019's Lenovo Legion is enough;
- it records MOV files which are not usable for most trending editing software;
- MOV files must be converted before it can be edited, and converted again.
Honestly, what a rip off!🤮 I didn't know all that. Looks like i'm going to sell mine. At least, i can get some of the poorly invested money back.
Well, thanks for the clarification and suggestion.☺
@@UnGeekPH Handbrake does not work! I've download it from the original site, i've install it, none of the Apllication files work and it asks to download this "Download .NET 6.0 Runtime", but in the end of it all, it still does not work. The program does not open no matter what and it asks again and again to download "Download .NET 6.0 Runtime": «To run this application, you must install missing frameworks for .NET.»😟
Is using a phone will work with that?
This one we specifically use for consoles.
Can I live stream on UA-cam and twitch?
Yes but if your in storage or pc free mode you cant. i hook it up to my pc then use streamlabs to capture my gameplay
On the pc free mode how do you get your voice on the clips
Audio jacks on front.

i bought this cause a video told me i could hook it up to my steam deck and record without pc but when i plug it in the steam deck goes into sleep mode
can this support with 256gb micro sd card? any limit size of the micro sd card to use this video capture card?
This only supports upto 128gb. You need a Class 10 micro SD card.
I was about to ask that, but you beat me to it. Alas, 128GB limit is something to be a bit concerning, but oh what the heck.
@@HyugaJeremy Well, I've been recording directly to my PC and a 30 minute 1080p30 video from my Switch takes about 9gb of space. I'm assuming that you will be moving your files off the SD card for editing, which is when you can delete it off the card. 128gb is a lot, imo.
@@HyugaJeremy yeah i was wondering too. I already have this video capture card but i record directly to my PC instead since i bought the wrong size of micro sd card.

Plug an additional HDMI cable into the output socket on the Avermedia, then connect the other end to your TV/monitor.
How do you fix if the red is flashing when you click record
You might need to check if it means its a storage issue or if its a driver related issue?
I REALLY dislike how I cannot play through the capture software, the delay is sometimes none to sometimes very noticeable. feels unnatural to look at another monitor
If it had a remote it would be perfect
