Thanks so much for having this up! I've been wanting to stream from my consoles for ages, but the idea of figuring out a capture card and setting it up was really daunting. I went hunting for info on a whim and found this. You explain things in a way that's really easy to follow, and I feel confident that I can now go through with the process myself. Much appreciated!
Straight to the point, without any waste of time or bullshit in between. THIS is how any tutorial in existence should always be, period. Thank you man, thumb up + subscription are well deserverd. ^^
I scoured UA-cam for a good tutorial, and now it makes sense because you're a teacher. Thank you for even bringing up how to connect the capture card to your computer because other tutorials that I've seen have not even talked about that. I'm forever in your debt. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I have been so confused about a set up for so long and just resulted in streaming straight from my ps5. Thanks so much out of all I have watched this video was so clear to follow 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Nice, simple video on the device and some options! I got the awesome EVGA XR1 Lite budget capture card as I wanted to start getting more control over my streams from my PS4 (just as I have with my laptop). Now I can easily set thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and tap into my stream overlays which are a must for long streams! Thanks again.
You got a awesome timing bro, I'm moving house next month and want to buy a computer and start streaming ark and upload the best of it on UA-cam. Cool that I now know where to look to inform my selfe buddy 👌😊
@@TeachersGameToo Thank-you, u just created my logo as you see and a banner last night.. I have a question on thumbnails, can I use images like a pokemon for example in my thumbnail without it being illegal due to copyright laws?
It made sense once I realized I needed an additional software. I'm not 100% sure but I feel like you said "OSB" and that made me think of plywood. Once I realized it was "obs" it was pretty easy to download it and go from there. Thank you tho.
I'm using a similar capture card with my laptop, I play on Xbox with a monitor, and when I plug the HDMI cable from the console to the capture card I can see it on OBS but not on my main screen (monitor), do you know how can I see it on both screens?
I get no output to my acer monitor I have used different HDMI cables and no luck but it will work with a tv but I need it for this monitor any suggestions?
Will this work solely for the purpose of using my laptop as a monitor for my Xbox one? I don’t plan to stream, but don’t have a tv at the moment and want to play!
Can you use this to capture the screen on your laptop while sending the output to the same laptop? I have an external drive that's connected to my laptop that I want to record.
Now, when you are not streaming and just playing on your normal tv or monitor does the quality drop to what the capture card is capable of? For example: my xbox outputs 4k hdr, if my my card does 1080p will my tv only get 1080p while the card is connected?
Question, if I hook up this to my console and TV like you showed can I leave it there and just plug in my computer whenever I want to record? I ask because I did just that. My computer is not plugged into the capture card but I'm not getting any image on my TV. So does the computer have to be connected as well just to get an image on my TV?
wonderful video ! I would like to ask tho, is there a way to put this on a streaming video or window ? I wanna play this on my monitor but also have it connect to my headset and to hear sound coming from it.
How would you set up a capture card to interface with a Webcam to get 4K recording ? I am looking at the Sony ZV1F as a Webcam, which for streaming only outputs 720P. I am told introducing a capture card is a workaround, so video saved in OBS can be 1080P or 4K
@@noopacity4854How about if I rephrase: Will a capture card let me capture videos of games my computer couldn't run? For example, my computer can't run Outer Wilds, but it's coming to Switch. If I bought it on Switch, would a capture card let me record gameplay?
In that OBS can that be made full screen so you can effectively use your laptop monitor as a monitor for a ps or xbox, and there will be no lag or tearing?
So how do you get the capture card to work I have it plugged into my computer the USB port but how do you get it to work through an HDMI port for the picture since you obviously have to plug in your PS4, PS3 your Nintendo switch in an HDMI Port just to get a picture to begin with on your TV so how can you plug it in to your TV without seeing your video game because that has to be in a completely different port??? This is the issue I can never understand when putting these things together.
if you are streaming from the twitch app on xbox i don't believe you'll need this product (or laptop). If you are doing it the other way around the answer is no. You can use the twitch website on your laptop and minimize it with OBS, or just use OBS once set up.
I found this really cheap capture card with only HDMI in and USB out, and I actually just want to use it as (hopefully) clean HDMI input from my old DSLR camera as some sort of a webcam. I assume I need to use OBS as the video capturing software and then pass it through as the camera input in the online meeting service app? No, my camera doesn't have USB webcam function, but does have a HDMI output.
I use a dual monitor setup with my pc, so do I connect the capture card to either of those then, while theyre connected to the pc? Where it says "to your TV or monitor" I guess thats the monitor I play the game from the console?
Does one side need to be connected to a monitor? What if what I want to record from is the tv - will this work? Also, the link to the capture card doesn't work. It goes to Amazon but says "page not found"
If the capture card we have does not have the second output slot to connect to the TV, will connecting an HDMI to the TV directly from my computer have the same effect?
I see how to do everything and everything looks good but I am not able to see my xbox screen on my second monitor. I see xbox in obs though. How do I fix this?

Thank you for posting this.
You bet!
Most capture cards do not take the load off a CPU. They just passed the signal through in a format the computer can use.
how?
@@ajplayztv7222 zion
Then whats the point if it doesnt take off cpu load?
@@kar8935 The point is to record whatever device to want to record like an Xbox.
Thx for the video but I have some issues with the sound I can't hear anything from my console what should I do?

Thank you so much. I loved that you kept saying “it’s so easy” bc I was like AHHHHH
Is there another capture card that's affordable but just as good, since the link to amazon keeps on saying "sorry couldnt find it "
Did you find any?
Incredibly helpful! Very well spoken step by step tutorial thank you so much omg I suck at stuff like this.
this is so far the best explanatory video.
no darn link shown below the video other than a description where to get from amazon and amazon doesn't recognize that link!!!
Thank you for the help! It was my first time using such a device and this helped me with exactly what I needed! Keep making these!

Very helpful video. But the link isn't working for me to see the capture card on Amazon. Could you post the device name in the description?
Paused the video, it's a hiearcool USB 3.0 Ultra HD capture card. Hope that helps
