- will your avermedia 2 plus not record? youve turned it on and off? and still nothing? you restarted your xbox and it still you cant record? well i Made this video with the thought of explaining one big issue with this model and type of game capture device. the piracy protection on these stop it from properly letting you record. with no clear instructions on the box or proper supper on the console id figured i make a video on the subject for those who were on the same boat as me when i start lol

I have tried 3 different HDMI splitters and my capture device always stays red. No way to bypass this.

@@carolyndame7618 You need a cable to connect your controller to the device, it is a separate cable that plugs in next to where your headset/mic plugs in. The cable needs to be TRRS .

@MDT I’m having audio issues with mine. I’m recording through SD card. The issue I’m having is when I record I can’t hear in game audio in my headset. Also sometimes I can can’t hear party chat but they can hear me. any suggestions? I play on an Xbox one s with elite controller and turtle beach stealth 700 headset. I also changed audio setting to headset&tv

Nice video. Few things are needing correct info.
The 3 settings on front are
Left - PC Capture
Center - MicroSD capture
Right - SD Reader(for pc mode)
4K will always pass through no matter what mode it’s on. Only 1080p will record, if your res is a over 1080.
HDCP is the protected encryption, it can only be disabled via PC in the RECentral 4 software. Kinda a PITA. But looks like you found a small hack or way around it for stand alone mode.

Gadgets and Tech have you had any problems with having no audio sometimes? After my Xbox goes idle an turns off, next morning I’ll turn it on and have to reset it (cuz the app glitch piracy) but I’ll have no audio and have to fidget with it after a while
KidDizzy #2 zero issues. I use a turtle beach XO One hooked to the controller. Audio is hdmi and I have chat coming through hdmi. Hope that helps

Excellent. They may be what I am looking for. I have been using the agptek card capture the past year. It is my first one. it is terrible. Constant corrupted files and bad audio. All of my videos are out of sync these days. I am trying to record Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC 2 and it is a headache.
I like my capture card. Only minor downside is the HDMI cord is too small.

you can also bypass the HDCP you can get a splitter that does it. It will allow you to record everything. You have to connect the console to the splitter first then to the capture device then it's game on!!!

60 fps actually. The device can only push out 60.
@@MDT4L okay it’s the Ultra that does 120fps... do you know, if and when this capture card is plugged in, can I use Stream Labs OBS and still have the 4K or 1080p settings?

@@TrelloThaGod in order for me to push 120fps its on my monitor but the card can't record that or stream it. It only streams at 1080p 60fps. With the new systems this captured card is actually kinda out dated.

I'm having trouble getting my card picking up my mic for my party...The Xbox recognizes that I have a mic, but my mic isn't registering that I'm speaking and my friends can't hear me.

Unfortunately you cant it has to be wired into the device to record your own audio. Hopfully in a new version they upgrade the device so we can use wireless headset

I just got one and hooked it up to my xbox and pc for streams but its not sending my game audio to my stream will only pick up my mic

Yes I believe you can. As long as your using a USB receiver on the console and you have the 3.5 mm audio plugged into the controller to the capture card. Another way would be to do a USB to 3.5mm converter. But I dont think that's practical.
It’s playing audio for everyone in my party except me but my Xbox icon says I’m talking. My headset is assigned to my controller still despite the controller being plugged in?
@@MyHugeAvocado I think the audio needs to come out from the capture card in order for you to hear, sorry I dont have a wireless headset so I'm not much help with the troubleshooting on that end.
After I use an app I know I have to reset the Xbox but every time my Xbox shuts off due to idleness the next time I go to play, I’ll turn on the Xbox and have no audio in the headset even after Xbox resets. Please help bro
Honestly bro this sounds more like a OS problem with the xbox than the device making those issues
MDT I think I found it out. I use Hulu to sleep so I know I have to reset in the morning but I have to connect and re connect the controller and it’ll start working

Thats the only place to get it unless you get a from a third party site that collects software but thats even more shady. It might be a error on you anti virus

This is the captures card, but this does record people's audio as long as your in a chat with with.

How is it at capturing your party's game chat?
I would say its pretty average, everything depends on how good everyone mics are on their headset and how loud your party setting are

Yeah so this basically only records in 1080p60. It's good for playstation and xbox.
On post you can change the frame rate if you choose, along with resolution.
No you dont need a pc to record just an SD card. To edit, yeah you might want invest on a pc. Phone works to but realistically you want to edit on a pc.

MDT ok so PS4 records clips 720p, i edit my videos on sharefactory and post them on youtube, if i clip something by double clicking a button on controller and edit it on sharefactory and post it with the capture card in this video, will i be able to post at 1080p60?
@@chris2003fn I'm not to familiar with sharefactory to much but if you can import videos into sharefsctory on the ps4 then you dont have to mess with the resolution.
If you cant import videos INTO sharefactory then I'm afraid you cant edit those videos that way.
@@chris2003fn no the clips that were recorded on 720p on the ps4 by double tapping are gonna stay that way. What ever you record with the capture card gets saved at 1080. To post from the capture card you have to get the files off on the card then import to sharefactory then post to youtube.

On The xbox go to your audio settings, make sure on party chat output you have it set to "headset & speakers"

My problem is that when I connect everything sometimes I don’t hear in game sound but hear chat sound and sometimes I don’t hear anything help
try updating it on your computer and see if it helps you out. Also connect it to the pc and and see how you have your audio settings set up

@@MDT4L Im waiting for a reply. I switched it to PC-free mode yesterday and it shut off and has not started back up since. Sometimes I have to remove it to do other stuff on my computer and it just never wants to turn back on. This happens a lot.

@@MDT4L here what I do know. Its not the xbox settings I tried all the combos to fix it that way in the system setting. I adjusted the headphone setting on the Xbox and turned the monitoring all the way down which made the buzzing quieter but didn't make it go away. My controller is wired. I switched the USB power cable for a longer one. And when I plug directly into the controller aux I don't have that issue.
@@josephlyons9941 i know when you have a controller plugged in sometime even on just regular party chat you cam give off a screeching sound but usually you can't hear it your self just other in the party. I'm not to sure what going on in your case tho
@@MDT4L my only thought is the longer cable isn't the right quality perhaps? I'm not sure if it has to be a grounded cable or what not. But it seems like specifically the issue comes up once the controller aux is plugged into the capture card.

Hard restart you xbox then make sure you don't open any streaming or video apps

I ve the same model, I wanna stream the games am playing in PC not PS4. So where to plug the audio jack from where and when i plug in my headphones in the capture card, the mic is working but I cannot hear the gaming sound in my headphones... Wish I could help! I've never used to it to stream on pc so I'm not sure. There are comments here that talk about pc stuff, reach out to one of them and they might be able to help you out.

MDT on stream labs OBS I get game and chat audio but the quality of the stream sucks. On regular OBS I get no audio but the quality is great

You gotta slide the slider, to the icon that has the PC icon. Then plug it into your pc.
Lol get a 24 to 28 inch. U have a 4k and run 1080p lmaooooooo Acer has refurbished 4k monitors that are 199. With full HDR. Huuuuuuuuuuge different brother.
4k Monitors aren't really necessary. WQHD is the sweet spot for that viewing distance, you just would sacrifice general quality of the monitor for a non-existing benefit. Though this capture device isn't really suitable for that.
yo be careful with this card i got this card for my micro sd card reader for my consoles as well but over 2 years of me owning this it sucks color on the videos recordings are watched out and blurry and heavy input delay on audio and gameplay no matter delay settings i put i use. it still lags. i am getting sadly an Elgato capture card this card sucks ass the software don't get me started every time i update something on the capture card breaks like my audio jacks or HDMI or recording crashed mid-way through. i am getting an Elgato HD 60 pro for my pc forget this card I am never buying an AVerMedia capture card ever again.
To be fair if you have a pc and can put a capture card in it, that's the best way to go. This more for people who don't have a pc and want to record some footage. I hear what your saying tho, I've been getting alot of comments lately with faulty cards, that don't even record audio.
@@MDT4L yup also yea i should off got the pc internal card instead of me getting this card cause they was sold out at the time for the elgato hd 60s internal pc card . but now i can have a chance to buy one i got for elgato and avermedia sucks because there softwar is buggy i never had good video quality my videos gameplay looks washed out on youtube compair too my friends video on elgato he uses a hd 60s his look better than my card .
