    I had those symptoms too on my 2011 f10 535i I replaced high fuel pressure sensor , helped a bit but not all the way , then I replaced low pressure fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump all genuine bmw parts it improved a lot , but once in a while it has hard to start , until I finally replaced low fuel pressure sensor that is on the fuel line goin in to high pressure fuel pump since mine is early n55 like yours low pressure sensor looks is older style and looks different , and it’s hard to find it by looking at part number fcp euro will show newer sensor that looks just like the one you replaced now and it will fit but what bmw recommended is if you go with newer style is to replace a fuel line too so new sensor fits correctly, anyways I went to real oem and found correct part number for older style sensor and replaced it and after that car is finally happy. I would suggest you replace low pressure sensor too because they are known to go bad and not throw a code .

      Thanks for posting this. Man I really thought a low pressure sensor could be the culprit in my case as well, but everyone I spoke to told me the early model f10 N55's didn't come with a low pressure sensor. I even checked RealOem and couldn't find the sensor. I will have to order the low pressure sensor as well and replace it soon.

      so the low pressure fuell sensor is under the back seat connected to the fuel pump? i just got a 2013 535xi and it starts always but is jumping on the idle and wants to stall as I get going or put it into reverse

      @@dreamsmanifest3920 every where I look it says they don’t have a low pressure sensor but I’m getting the code for it but all I see is the high pressure

      @@JeremeNash I have not someone checked and said the fuel pump high is good then said direct injection is known for carbon build up

    good afternoon, i have a bmw 535i 10/11 this fault code 1F0525 could be the sensor ?? it walks normally, but when it accelerates hard from 3rd or 4th gear, the fault code and propulsion system appears, after turning off and on again it returns to normal

    I have a 520d e60 with the same issue the car runs fine but when sitting idle for too long it starts to choke and then stalls out. I find that I have to turn off if sitting at a light too long. Gonna change my sensor this week. Hope it fixs it . Ty

      @@Djinn-Dani yeah turned out it was one of my injectors, the copper rings needed replaced as it was causing a pressure leak

    Do anybody know where the low pressure fuel sensor is located on a 2012 BMW 535i

      2012 does not have a low pressure fuel sensor. Only 2011 early model n55’s have a low pressure sensor.

    When replacing the MAF sensor, do you have to reprogram or reset the sensor? I know this video is for a high-pressure sensor, just having issues with MAF since I replaced the high pressure fuel sensor.

      You shouldn’t need to reprogram, however you could try resetting adaptations for Mass Air Flow.

    Did you have any faults? And which hpfp do you have? The old n54 style or the new one? I have the old one carried over from the n54 in my 535i 2011. And i have 2 fault: 11a401 and 11b401 high fuel pressure low. But i have no symptoms... could it be the sensor?

      Yes, I have the N54 style Hpfp and those were the 2 fault codes I would see from time to time. I also found that I have a low pressure fuel sensor that is located next to the hpfp. I have not changed this sensor yet, but my fault codes have not returned.

    Hey Mr. Johnson,
    We replaced the fuel pressure sensor on my son's 2011 X3M today. My son says the car drives great now but it still has the drivetrain malfunction message on the idrive. Did you have to clear the code after the sensor replacement?

    Does the whole back seat come out or just the driver side? Also, do you have the part number to the sensor? Im on FCP Euro, and there's many.

      I added a link to the sensor I used in the video description. You can remove the entire back seat, top and bottom, but you shouldn’t need to for this high pressure fuel sensor.

    Hi, I have a 2011 535i here. I have the codes:
    119404 - Rail pressure sensor, signal: permanently stuck
    11AC02 - High Pressure Fuel System, plausibility, cold start: pressure too low
    191C01 - Fuel tank ventilation system, shutoff valve jammed open.
    I am thinking to make the swap on the HPF pressure sensor to be sure the sensor is working properly before doing more.
    I just had the LPFP replaced under the recall a month ago. Since then I still see issues with limp mode due to the above codes and misfires. When I monitor the HPFP pressure I see normal HPFP readings matching the set value at idle around 8MPa, but the reading diverges as the set value increases above 10MPa. When it fails to track the set value it throws the code and I assume opens a fuel bypass to allow low pressure through as the pressure drops to around 0.7MPa at that point. My vehicle has the LPF pressure sensor and it is solid at 0.7MPa the whole time.
    Any recommendations? It seems like it is the HPFP, but I am not sure if the sensor failure can be pressure dependent.

      Do you have access to Ista+. There is a fuel system diagnostic that might be helpful. If not, I agree. I would start with the hpfp sensor first.

      I did find info on rebuilding the HPFP. It seems that there are 3 O (or X) rings and an oil seal that will deform with time. Ethanol may add to the problem. It makes sense that when it begins to fail the fuel gets past the seals into a part of the pump that has oil for hydraulic pressure. Diluting the oil with fuel will reduce hydraulic compression and therefore the peak pressure output.
      I will give rebuilding a try before purchasing a new or rebuilt.

      No I don’t. Most f10 N55’s don’t have a low pressure sensor. Mine does because it’s a early model N55.

    Grant....so where did you get that intake from......and did u honestly feel the difference with the ....MHD TUNE....E-20 MIX...DOWN PIPE....CHARGE PIPE....AND INTERCOOLER?....I have a 2013 535 i x drive.... 90k....and im looking to make it what it should be....good looking car but i need more than what it has from the factory

      @@JohnsonMotorsports man im totally stock....nothn....was told that the ...JB PLUS....and.....PEDAL COMMANDER....is a good place to start from.....but im so ready to do the MHD....what is your advice....im also in the PA NJ DE...area and on a weeknd if possible...id drive down to meet up

      @@hassantalib3426 Honestly, I would waste time with the JB plus or pedal commander. I've never used the JP Plus, but it would just take funds away from the ultimate goal with should be a flash tune. I would go MHD or BM3. MHD also has a liner pedal option which does the same thing as the pedal commander. I would start with the Chargepipe. (It won't give you a power gain, but will make your car ready for more Boost.) Then add MHD and Downpipe. After that add the FMIC and determine if you want to run E-85.

      Also, I would checkout RVG Performance for really good prices on some of these parts. No reason to break the bank on a painted pipe.

    My car is cranking but isn’t starting && when it does start it will just die … I tried the new battery still doing same thing so tmrw I will be trying fuel pump relay and seeing if the fuse is bad but if it does start and runs it’ll like start to choke then will shut off

      Yeah, it sounds like the sensor to me. Do you have Ista +? There is a fuel system diagnostic you can run.

    I'm going to attempt this tomorrow. You briefly mentioned about starting the car a few times first... why would you do this? Also do you think I could pull the fuel pump fuse rather than disconnect the pump in the back? Thanks

      Yes, you can definitely pull the fuel pump fuse. That is actually easier.
      I stated to attempt to start the car multiple times to relieve the pressure in the fuel lines. If not, you will pull the rail sensor and it will spray everywhere due to the fuel pressure in the lines.

      Well, fyi. I found that my early model n55 has a low pressure sensor right before the hpfp like the N54. I need to buy a sensor to replace it too.

    It’s probably easier to trip the fuel shutoff than unplug the pump connections. Or pull the fuel pump fuse.

    I have 535i 2009. It began with saying fuel pump in op as I just had filled tank up with fuel. I reopened fuel cap and started car again and all went well. Week later it began to sound like misfire. So I replaced all spark plugs. Then threw a code for ignition coil. So I replaced all of them. Then cam shift sensor I replaced. Then a mechanic told me#3 plug foweled I ut again. Said I needed new fuel injector. So I did reelection;# 3.plug.it #3 injector . Car ran ok but still missing or felt like is ghasping for fuel. Then id get a means lost power . When I stepped on pedal it would act like it was chugging but then would pick up speed and chug along . When I put it in manual it was not as bad as automatic but its so bad now it feels like it wants to die had minimum power. I'm at my end of knowing what to do. I'm not a mechanic just a woman that's been taken advantage of from. These mechanic s so I began to watch utube and learned how to replace abs reissue shit in my car but I am desperate on this one. Also my battery keeps dying. Something is draining my battery I've replaced it now 4 times 1 year. Please advise

      I hate to hear that, it can be really frustrating when chasing issues like this. First I would figure out what’s causing the battery drain issues. A bad battery can cause other issues because all the electronics need the correct voltage. Can you give me more information on the battery issue. Can’t believe you had to replace it 4 times in a year.

      Update: error is gone. No more drivetrain malfunction when I open it up and it’s driving like it did when I first bought it.

      I replaced the spark and it fixed the problem...
