As a proud owner of one of the original 50, I can say it's totally worth the money and the guitar is absolutely gorgeous.
Yep. I got #49, a present from my GF. I may swap out the piezo, for an internal mic, as it's a bit squawky (but I usually play it with a mic in front anyway.)
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it.
Thanks!! I use the pickup with an LR Baggs Align EQ on stage and cut the 1k-4K area - it actually sounds really nice then. Might cost less to try than an internal mic.
That is a killer arrangement for Taste of Honey! Love love the chord choices.
I knew I knew that song.
Congratulations Josh! Beautiful guitar with a beautiful sound.
You are a master and living proof you don’t need a $10000 guitar to sound fantastic! As for the B and S laminate , makes perfect sense for traveling. I also think the care in the setup , string and nut action, etc., is just as important to many players as the wood choices.
Was surprised to see the affordable price for such a beautiful guitar. Thanks
Too strange. I heard The Beatles' version this morning for the first time in years, and I actually wondered how the guitar could be interpreted differently. Turned on my laptop and saw this. Josh, your guitar sounds amazing and I LOVE your interpretation of this great song.
That's a glorious arrangement. Holy smokes!
I was on the waitlist after missing out the first time around. Placed my order already. Hope to get it sometime next week if I am lucky. I know it will be a worthy addition to my collection. In terms of answering the question, how many guitars does someone need? The answer is - as many as you currently have, plus one! Thanks Josh. Wishing you continued success on your musical journey!!!!
Yes, a lovely guitar, but man… what an absolutely lovely arrangement of a classic song - very true to the Herb Alpert Tijuana Brass instrumental cover, which I would have thought would not be possible on guitar. Just fantastic! BTW, I was five years old when Alpert’s “Whipped Cream and Other Delights” album came out in 1965; “A Taste of Honey” was the first track. I remember my parents playing that album on their suitcase LP Stereo Phonograph Player at cocktail parties. A few years later, I found that album cover particularly intriguing, and I about wore that album out. Thanks for bringing back some great memories, and for keeping our parents’ (likely your grandparents’!) music alive! 😃😃😃
Superb version of A Taste of Honey and your guitar sounds amazing. You always manage to astonish me a little more with your playing which is always growing and improving. Loved the harmonics. A Taste of Honey has such a great melody and I've loved it since I heard The Beatles do it on their 1963 Please Please Me album only 60 years ago.
Now if it could only get me to play like Josh.
That guitar sounds sooo well with deep sound overall but played by a master like you Josh makes the guitar sound awesome! Thank you sooo much!
Oh I'm definitely buying this guitar. I'm so happy to see this as part of the standard line! Amazing rendition as well
Josh I love the music you make..it would be a dream to ever see you live
I hope you came to Argentina some day!
Amazing arrangement as usually!. Herb Alpert's version has been used for many years as the theme song of the italian's radio program ""Tutto il calcio minuto per minuto", I did not know its origin before!
Wow! A blast from the past is a blast in a passing fine nifty new arrangement that bridges jazz and folk. Man, I loved that. I gotta ask though: if I buy the guitar, will I be able to play like that?? 😉 It has a kind of ringing tone to it, bell-like, but not in-your-face.
For some reason, I don’t think it’s going to sound the same when I play it.
Thank you, Josh, for making it affordable. This one is on my list.
Great working with ya, Josh!
Congratulations Josh and good luck with your venture. I see they are not standard D'Angelico tuners, thank god they look more comfortable.
Is there a tab up for this arrangement, wow.
Wow man! You make such good arrangement choices, beautiful just beautiful ❤
Ottimo il tuo percorso. I like your trajectory. Bella chitarra. Bella prestazione. Forza!
I love mine! #34 of the original 50
What a beautiful guitar the headstock looks so nice with the pearl inlay also the sound is incredible full and rich with nice high tones as well.
Sounds incredible !
This was the theme song of a radio program broadcast during Italian football matches in the 70s. It was called "TUTTO IL CALCIO MINUTO PER MINUTO". 🙂
Well played. Really amazing 👏 👍👌
I have enjoyed your presentations for quite some now Josh..all your music covers are exceptional..would love it if you covered some Canadian talent..ie THE STAMPEDERS..CHILLIWACK..RANDY BACHMAN..LOVERBOY..THE GUESS WHO?
Keep on getting more amazing as you move ahead..I have also played professionally..and appreciate very good tight performances
Mine came UPS today ! Beautiful look and sound
Standard line! I was about to drop a comment saying how I wish these videos came out closer to my paydays haha
If you are lucky enough to have an extra $800 to buy one..
Yay!!!! For you man. I am looking for a smaller body acoustic.
Just when I convinced myself I didn't need another acoustic guitar. Missed out on the first run, not this time.
Josh awesome awesome job on the guitar sounds fantastic😮😮😮😅
Wow!
Sweeeeeeeet! 👏👏🐝👏👏👏🐝
Nothing against DAngelico but Josh, you could take an old box and a stick and a couple of rubber bands and make them sound amazing !! 🙃
Loved hearing Kelley giggle, she almost stole your performance. Hope you two giggle together for the rest of your lives.
Wow! Speechless.
When are we going to see a duet with Josh and Tommy Emmanuel? Now that would be amazing.
Excellent playing (as always), debatable choice ('A Taste of Honey'?), weird atmosphere... my best to you and to your guitar 😊. And to everybody 😊.
I'll buy it the instant I can get my hands on it in Europe. Such a beautiful instrument! ❤
Its sound is really magic under your fingers but... (Yes, I'm crying) : how much with the trip to send it to France for example? And: would it sound the same without microphone (in acoustic game) ? Its treble strings seemed to me a little distorted at the beginning and at the end of your playing, or is it a stylistic effect ? I didn't know you were a luthier, more than many talented dear artist ! Admiration.
As an out there cover you should do the abc club scattered light.
Sounds AMAZING!!! Could you make a tutorial?
Phenomenal Josh!
Amazing!
Cool, shades of Tony!
Nice arrangement! No Picardy third at the end?
I've written some songs with awkward chord changes and fingering, but you took this to another level. That was incredible.
It sounds sooo good
Sounds wonderful 👍❤
Was supposed to say great sound and playing. Lol
I thought you were going to play Herb Alpert
Ound and playing josh.
woah! there is so much hate on this guy;
...not his fault he got offer to make an instrument, and yes he could have used solid back and sides,
then it wouldn't be in the price point he/they wanted.
not many people have much moneys these days.
cool idea, rock-on!
When is it coming to Australia?
You're amazing
Do I also get Josh’s skills with every purchase y/n
Your choice - put in the time and effort needed
nice
Very nice but I'm all about nylon!
No mention about the arrangement, is it by Josh? anyway it's superb.
It’s my arrangement, yes! Thanks.
very nice!
Super
taste of honey 😍
Can you show us on video how you made it ?
Tab or sheet music available to purchase?
Of course, Josh could make a whatever-the-worst-guitar-might-be guitar sound great. Not to be a naysayer, but this DAngelico is a bit too bright for my ear. Though it is a pretty instrument.
Not going to lie, kind of dissapointed to see having guitar 3/50 will now be just 3/∞. Kind of thought novelty was the point of it but I suppose that's the way it goes...
Hey! The first run are still special - they’re the only ones that I hand signed and hand numbered, the new ones just have a printed signature.
@@JoshTurnerGuitarOkay, I feel better about it being still special, thank you for the explanation. I adore the way it plays, so well worth it either way!
Ive never clicked on anything this fast, mustve have been the caps
It does cost a ton of money, though. Contrary to what you said in your original video.
I'd love to get one, but I'm too broke!
Josh looks better than me in my 25 y\o. How it works?
Hey can you make an acoustic guitar that has a whammy bar? I've been looking for one.
Try a Gretsch Rancher Bigsby
💛
Or Whitby if you’re going acoustic
Why does it NOT have that cool arm rest your guitar has?
I watched the D'Angelico Guitars version of this session. Please, Kelly, don't ever use the multi-camera method where it shows Josh talking from the side like they did. I hate that method. If the subject is talking to all of us, why show them talking to someone on the other side of the room? Other than that, it's a great video with Josh talking about his equipment and how he records acoustic instrumentals and talking more about the reissue of his guitar.
What song is this? I swear a recognize it but can't place it...Tommy Emmanuel maybe?
A taste of honey
What strings are you using?
D’Addario Phosphor Bronze 12-53 XT’s
wooowwwzzz. das ist kooolee mmmmm
Hey
800 bucks is a bit steep for me. Let me know when you have a half price sale. Thanks anyway.
Is it made in China? Sounds OK
Ya, but you can make any guitar sound good....
The headstock is ugly
Nevermind you did.
Nice guitar , but I cant justify buy a guitar made in China.
The sound is.. flat. No warmth or highs. I’m disappointed with that
All the other Excels are all-solid woods. But not this one? At $800?. Guild and Yamaha both make very good OM/000 solid models for around this price. No need for to settle for a laminate body anymore.
The all solid Excels cost $200 more. I could’ve gone that route, but I actually deliberately chose laminate back and sides because this is my touring instrument, and some laminate wood makes the guitar less susceptible to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Guild and Yamaha both make great guitars! But this one works for me.
@@JoshTurnerGuitarCant argue with that. If it's outside a lot, or in and out a lot, laminate does make sense. (My LS6 is laminate b&s, and it's great). ✌🏼
Laminate!?! 😝
@@JoshTurnerGuitar
How much is that that guitar and how to buy Josh? Thx
The guitar seems a little woody ... I have perfect pitch, by the way.
Made in China? Nope
Golly, what an unpredictable move for a youtube guitarist. At least you combed your hair for once.
Ooooohhh roasted!!
Going to end up at Goodwills in 3 years, save your money.
🤡
Can you release this arrangement it's pretty good and seems others like it as well. :D
