This was on the radio when I was a kid. I am 79 years old now and still playing. I wonder how you found this music and I think it's a very beautiful that you like it you know ,sounds good. I guess good music will always survive and always attract younger players. Thank you very much for this. bright moments
i am 78 next month and it is a joy to find new renditions of old songs - and original renditions of songs i remember from my youth - here on youtube - in this world of modern times when many things come to our attention that are disturbing and frankly painful - so much relief is available here for those who love music and the human spirit it embodies - may peace be with us all
Nothing like a room of young, talented, musicians with old souls channeling the beautiful music of timeless eras long gone by, with the clarity of someone who actually lived in that special moment in time. It's always nice to have a reminder that "things aren't always as bad as they seem." This world can never have enough lights in the dark.
This was one of my Dad's favourite songs. He used to play with a five-piece dance band and this was the closing song for the last set of the night when they played dances. My Dad turned 90 during the worst of the covid-19 lockdown so my three siblings and I recorded an a cappella version of it for him (one of those recorded remotely/stitch it together videos). When he was in the hospital during the last couple of weeks of his life, my sister would take a tablet computer and some headphones to him so he could listen to some favourite music. I created a UA-cam playlist for him and this video was the first one in the playlist. My Dad passed away last week at the good age of 94. Thank you for making his last days happy with your excellent rendition of this classic.
My folks danced to big band music till my dad passed away. Then i took my mom dancing every sunday afternoon till she could now longer dance. Beautiful rendition.
I wish my dad was still alive to hear this . He was a great music fan of big band , jazz , country , and blues . This is special . Thanks to all of you !
Wonderful. Tears in my eyes listening to this. It was my mom’s favorite. She lived in the 40’s as a teenager and listened to this a lot. She has been gone over 20 years now and I can’t help my emotions when I hear a great rendition this yours. Thanks for this.
That, dear friends, was music by musicians for the benefit of those who are genuinely musically appreciative. The best of covers of an example of the best of compositions. Not many performers could have done it so well.
Beautiful rendition of a song made famous by the Pied Pipers. Lovely harmonies and a great sax solo. Thank you for dipping into some older, should-not-be-forgotten-music. You are all old old souls.
I’m 65 but was raised on this music. It meant so much to my parents and grandparents after coming out of the WWII era. It will always have a special place in my heart and please know, you guys have honored those artists and songs brilliantly! Please do more!
Here is an example of where youth is not wasted on the young. I hope these talented people stay together. You guys are a valuable time machine for both young and old.
You're killing me guys. You know there are sounds and there are SOUNDS. A total classic done with class Josh. I don't know where you find your talent but you never cease to amaze. I hope you find joy and happiness in creating these for us because they give us joy and happiness.
Four voices in perfect harmony with no auto tune or any gimmics - just wonderful performances from all the artistes here - thanks for posting and I hope you get a lot more views and likes. Martina you just gor a new subscriber. Sax solo was bang on - moody and gentle - added a lot to an already great rendition
You know, I love it when young people, and you're all 'young people', do such justice to such an old song. I've loved this song for as long as I can remember, and listening to the Pied Pipers was about the best I heard. However, I think the four of you did such a wonderful job on this song. I am really impressed with what I heard, and this is as good as the original.
When that harmony hits on that Sustain note and that warm fuzzy feeling comes over you because you hear that blend of voices, there’s nothing like it as a singer, musician or anyone who loves music. Such a beautiful tribute to a lovely song
The first time I heard this song was while playing Mafia Definitive Edition. While driving a car, going on a mission, this song played on one of the game's radio stations. I fell in love with it. And you guys were wonderful, performing it. Congratulations.
Brilliant harmonies and that breathy sax solo was just perfect. It reminded me of people like Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster. The tune was just brilliantly performed and full of nostalgia. Well done to Josh too for always playing exactly the right accompaniment.
In this age of in-ear-monitors, click tracks, and mixing boards in the sound booth, it is remarkable to have such great time, balance, and blend without those things...just like the old days. Well done y'all !
So very good. Over the past several years I’ve developed a new appreciation for the music of the 1930s and ‘40s, the music of my parents’ generation. Thanks for introducing me to this one. The harmonies are fabulous. Well done all!
I wish these very talented young people all they wish for themselves. Lovely voices, excellent harmonization, fine young talent. From an old English pensioner who enjoys ALL good music 4:12
That's just unbelievable!! I'll be 72 in a couple of weeks, and I have always been a rock and roller. But I recognize gems and the talent it takes to recreate something so beautiful.
Beautiful! Wonderful vocals and when Sonny began his solo I almost cried. Ben Webster is my all time favorite sax player and this sounded so much like him. Loved it!
That was,... beautiful! Not surprised to see Josh, Martina has been on at least two of his videos, but Allison is a welcome sight. First I've seen of Sonny, but I hope that changes fast!
For a few years the Pied Pipers were the number one group with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Jo Stafford. This version of one of their best songs has to rate as one of the best covers on UA-cam.
Absolutely wonderful rendition of this classic Johnny Mercer and the Pied Pipers classic! I play this song at my father's funeral in 2008. It was very emotional to all of us in attendance. Great music will always live on, especially when newer generations embrace the quality and beauty of music from days gone by. These artists have reintroduced this haunting music with beautiful smooth harmonies to a new audience. Bravo and thank you!!! 💖
Just brilliant ! Who'd have thought such perfection could be created in the modern day, with all the Swifty and Ed Sheeren fans about. This is real music, not to mention talent !
Wow, what a sax solo. Well, everything was fantastic -- but that solo just blew me away. Wonderful singing and arrangement that is true to the spirit of the original music. Beautiful!
What a way to wake up on Sunday morning! Build an orchestra around you and start cranking out the 40s catalog! Well buy everything you produce! Thank you.
I just can't find words for the feelings this generates. The perfect blend of voices, the nostalgia for the era this evokes, the hopefulness of the lyrics... I just want to weep. It's cathartic! Do more together please. That's my dream.

Yes sir! Me too. Played it on mom’s Hammond organ, and on my trombone.
Singalong!

Anything with Allison and Josh in it is bound to be excellent. Proof right here.
I’m 78 and this was my mom’s favorite song. I hear this version and tears come to my eyes seeing her dance to this. Great job.

I sure miss him.
Such a Delightful rendition of this fine old standard. Your harmony is so good!
My folks danced to big band music till my dad passed away. Then i took my mom dancing every sunday afternoon till she could now longer dance. Beautiful rendition.
Oh gosh. I started listening, and suddenly got some dust in my eyes. 🥲
Humanity is saved as long as we have musicians like these.
I agree! Musicians like these are among those that make humans worth saving.
beautiful 4 part harmony and a sax solo. who could ask for more?
🥰🥰🥰
Wonderful…. I’m in my 77th year…. Music like this is ageless.

As a child of the "swing era" and a life long musician I can verify that it doesn't get any better than this. Many thanks to Josh and friends.
I wish my dad was still alive to hear this . He was a great music fan of big band , jazz , country , and blues . This is special . Thanks to all of you !
Great camera work by Kelly Oden! Her timing landing on Sonny Step just as he began his solo was awesome!
If the word "smooth" had a sound, this would be it. Well done, ladies and gents!!!

Real song, real singing. Beautiful.
This is what music was meant to be. I couldn't give you all enough superlatives... Wow!
Yes, yes, yes!
I am 78 and this was my mom and dad’s music and the reason I started playing.
Beautiful! Sonny Step on the sax was outstanding. Just loved his dreamy sound. It perfect for this song.
Thanks! And agreed- Sonny’s sax sound is the dreamiest 💭😍
@@MartinaDaSilva only one thing to say about Sonny Step’s solo: Ben Webster would have been proud. Bravo!
@@woutthielemans5073 Lester Young also.
So nice to see "real" music making a comeback with super talented young artists. Thanks for this.
Real music never ceased to be made by young talented artists. It's just the mainstream media who decided to ignore them for profit.
So, so beautiful. Allison sipping coffee made it seem effortless!
Look where Josh & Allison popped up!! :) - Harmony, and cool playing never go out of style!!
SWEET!! - Thanks!
You put tears in my eyes, this was my parents song. They would sing and dance to it everytime they heard it.
If ever there was a ‘wow,’ this was it.

June Hutton and The Pied Pipers, 1945. What a wonderful cover by you guys! Thanks so much!😊👍
The young lady who played the keyboard has one of the most beautiful smiles.
The first time I heard this song was while playing Mafia Definitive Edition. While driving a car, going on a mission, this song played on one of the game's radio stations. I fell in love with it. And you guys were wonderful, performing it. Congratulations.
I love how Allison's cup matches her outfit.

Brilliant harmonies and that breathy sax solo was just perfect. It reminded me of people like Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster. The tune was just brilliantly performed and full of nostalgia. Well done to Josh too for always playing exactly the right accompaniment.
Josh Turner has done it! All the genres, done as well or better. The music is not only safe, it's alive.
So old-fashioned, so wonderful, so relaxing
Thank you young ones, takes me back to my childhood. Great harmony!!!
