@4:25 the bar hardly moves during the slow motion. his technique is so perfect - never seen anything like that before. he lifts the bar and then ducks under it... great capture!
Well, no doubt he's awesome and makes me question my sexuality But... There are 150kg at that bar so how the hell should it move anyway 😂 it's not like that 50 kg warmup where you balance the bar in the air. It's hit or miss.
@@ryanreviews8566 what are you talking about? He IS snatching (not that you don't contact the bar at cj's...) ask you trainer, don't try to learn this via UA-cam you gonna hurt yourself
Agree looks like a piece of art that technical execution of the lift. By real weightlifters like Lu here. Those crossfitters are a joke. Their technique is kinda sloppy and not even 100% clean.
@@disguyiknow those are probably sponsored and given. At least the sport related stuff. Idk about this sport but china sponsor literally every for other sports.
Fr, although for his amazing aesthetic body, he may be the perfect build for this sport but not any others at all. His legs are so short, and his arms too which is why you see the bar hit his pelvis instead of his upper thighs. Most all great athletes in other sports are built the opposite with very long limbs, but I think his funky stocky build really helps him move the weight. Definitely made for this sport though, short legs means more torque and less distance, and short arms means higher bar contact when getting the bar to bounce up to his chest or over head clean.
Imagine... having all eyes on you in the training hall when you're only halfway through working up to the heavier weights. Everyone who knows a thing or two about weightlifting just really can't help but turn to watch
but seriously Lu is a master. So much of the sport seems to me dependent on body leveraging skills as much as strength. He has incredible mastery of his body.
i love lu, nohomo, his lifting style is so gracious and he is so chill and seems so humble, not only that, i started weightlifting just about a month ago after playing american football and body building for over 11 years, still have a lot to learn, my dream is to one day compete in the olympics, at 22 years of age at first i thought it was already too late but seeing lu compete at 34 year old gives me so much motivation. anyway nice vid as always ATG
I’m sorry i hate to be the bad guy here... but if you started at 22 you are never going to the Olympics unless you live in a country that has no weightlifting tradition so you don’t have any competition.
As I stated, it's a dream of mine, something that motivates me, kinda sad for people to think it's okay to step on people's dreams, but whatever I'm using it as fuel to even try harder.
Those golden shoes can only be worn by the world champion in Chinese lifting team, and you cannot even but it from the market. Those shoes have "champion" printed on them. Lu basically shows off that he is the boss here and also the world record holder.
honestly, i watch all of the team china videos cos i wanna know how to squat better, i take inspiration from their workouts and try to make it work for myself
I wonder how light the bar must feel like. I worked out for about 5 months daily and got a lot stronger than I use to and the bar felt light. I stopped workimg out for 2 months and I'm getying back into it and the bar feels way heavier than it should.
