Don't bother cutting the resin away. Crush the resettable fuse component gently with small pliers to remove the tan-coloured shell, then unsolder the wire legs from the internals. You now have two wires to which the replacement fuse can be soldered. Same solution as on Saab 9-5 with SOD failure.
