Thanks a lot for this video. I had a civic 7th gen and serviced that myself twice,great car....great car. Now I have an 8th gen, I didn't do it myself since I thought the undercover had to be taken off in order to get to the sump plug. I will service it myself next time. However, the other fluids I will leave to the pros.

5w30 is good all year round in the UK. We don't get cold winters.
I’ve always used the factory 0w20 myself, Honda type 2
@@eddgreen9376 they don't typically bother making 10w20 or 5w20 oils for the EU market. It's easier to just make everything 0w20 and sell it internationally regardless of the climate.

Original Honda oil that Honda recommends is 0w 20 which is insane
No. For this model its 5w30

It’s only an overflow and reserve bottle.
Coolant is checked via the fill cap on the radiator when car is cold.
I noticed that you don't have the silver metal under tray. I have one on mine I just checked. So I know what to take off when I service it.
I have a question do you have to use Honda 0-20 oil or 0-30 Castrol?
I usually use 5-30 not 100% sure if it’s correct but was always fine for me 👍🏻

What was the OBD 2 you had, and what would you recommend?....
I use a BlueDriver, it is pretty good a bit more expensive than others but totally worth the money! It had pointed me in the right direction when things go wrong more than once 👍🏻

I take it to the local dump, they have a specific section for old engine oil and car batteries 👍🏻
Are these motors economical? Any known issues with these?
I got my 1.8 petrol 8th gen civic down to 5.1 litres per 100kms. That was mainly motorway driving. However I get around 6.5 litres per 100 Kms mixed driving. And 7- 8 litres per 100 Kms for city driving.

Is it possible to fit a turbo to this car?
Yeah the R18 engine can run about 200bhp safely without forged internals 👍🏻
@@sampaddyprojectz Much more infact, I've tuned two now - one is at 260~ and the other at 290+ on stock internals :)
Not worth the money. Just buy a type r and turbo the k20.
