Nice job buddy, cool bore sighter!.
Sweet little rig, i will have to check it out.👍
I've been trying to find where to get those bore sights for 3 years now. They do work great, but I can't find for sale yet.....
That same one now comes with concentric circles on the magnet to help center the bore sighter. That touch is a nice improvement.
I want to see the 6.8 Western versus 300 win mag with paper plates and milk jugs you ain't did them videos in a minute they're awesome too
I tell you what those two rounds kill milk jugs dead
A couple of things...even if the boresighter magnet mounts perfectly to the end of the barrel, there is no guarantee that the laser light itself is coming straight out of the laser device. These lights can fluctuate so one way to determine if the light is properly mounted inside the device is to rotate the boresighter at 90 degree intervals and see if the light moves. If it does, mark each spot and when you're done, the center of the four spots is the point where it would be dead on. The other factor is the "cold bore" or first shot. Many rifles will place the first round off a bit when the barrel is cold. Once your fire the weapon the barrel heats up and then you can measure your groups. Of course there is also the "ammo" factor and even a couple of other things. Fire-lapping a new barrel is a pretty good idea. All in all a pretty good and informative video, bro'.
I have sighted in over 10 rifles with this thing, and on video. Works great 👍👍
You are absolutely correct. This has been my experience as well. I have used a ton of these laser bore sighters and I have never seen one where the laser does NOT move when you spin it in the barrel. Which means you are never really getting a correct bore sight. Might get you semi-close but will prob end up costing you more ammo. Can't go wrong with just looking through the bore at 10 yards. Center your bore exactly 2 inches below your scopes cross hairs and this will give you a 50/200 yard zero.
@@chop345 My Wheeler doesn't move when spun.
I’m diggin’ that magnet concept! I’ve used a boresighter with caliber specific arbors for years, and that looks like a huge time saver! Even if it’s not as precise, you just proved it was plenty good enough! 👍🏼
Works great
That thing is awesome, love the fact that it doesn’t need all kinds of extra parts.
That thing is pretty cool. I'm getting my 6.8 this week I really can't wait!
Can’t wait for the video I just ordered me one of those bad boys. It should be here on Wednesday got to sight in my 6.5 savage axis precision 2 with a vortex viper pst gen 2
Worked out great. Thanks for watching!
5:20 this seems like common knowledge, and when I was younger, I would have said you were stupid if this needed to be pointed out to you. Now that I'm older, I laughed my butt off when you said this because I know I would have destroyed at least two of these, getting too excited to move on to the next step 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just ordered one. Thanks for the code! I’m going to use it to teach my 12 year old son how to sight in his new .22 LR
Thanks for watching Anthony
I've got one, a little longer, cost a pretty penny....haven't tested it since I joined my range. I might have to take it for a spin
ganna have to get one of those and that (AR optic you showed a week ago) for me for Christmas this year
Great video my friend. I really like the new set up. Keep on sending them.
Your video was super helpful, im gettin ready for firearm season for deer in Indiana
I really wanted to see a three shot group after you installed the warn rings! Good video though, I always enjoy your content.
Getting ready for another WhoTeeWho video 👍
🙏🙏🙏
I got the Sightmark version. It has a spring loaded end where you can center it inside the muzzle. They come in the green or red laser.
How do you ensure it's centered? Seems to me there could be some error when aligning it as nothing goes in the bore to keep it true to the bore.
Doesn't have to be perfect
not really that new.
have a similar bore sighter with magnet 10 yrs ago.
but you are correct , they work pretty well !!
Sorry WTW but the Wife had me doing stuff so I had to leave the live. But I made it back and of course really enjoyed the video! Keep em comin!
Hey Bob! Always appreciate you watching
Hi Adam
Awesome bit of gear mate much better than the type than have a shaft that slides into the end of the barrel I always worry that it will damage the crown or the rifling , I have checked and the type you demonstrated aren’t available over here I would buy one for sure of they were , you explained very well how easy and safe they are to use , thank you for your time and knowledge making the video . Steve from Australia
Love it mate not sure if that calibre has made it all the way down under but it's definitely impressive
Marty from Australia
Thanks WTW for the great video. Just got ahold of laser thingy. Been avoiding them for 30 years, but I have a smokepole which was dead on out of the box, but year two got super pesky. I knew there was a trick to bore sighting but wasn't sure what it was. Your 2 inch rule was exactly the info I needed! Thanks again and UPVOTE!
Appreciate you watching!
Did you get the scope ring issue fixed? I have one of the magnetic units that has the graph but it doesn't work well with a high set of rings. Your unit works great. Thanks for the info & link.
Got new Warne rings
Just traded my savage axis in 350 for a xpr in 350 with kuiu camo last week. It’s quite the upgrade from the savage but I’m not knocking the savage. It could flat out shoot.
I am an xpr fan
Not to shabby
we need an entire Damnit Bobby episode and watch it go viral Damnit Bobby ❤
It's a free country which I love more then I can say. We all have the right to out own opinions and I support and respect that. I'm just saying. I run into the 9 folks who gave this a thumbs down. We will have a difference of opinions lol. Great video boss
🙏🙏🙏
Yes it is a great tool to have definitely make sure we're good sighting in a rifle and saving animals I even brought them in the field with me to sight in my rifle for a certain distance on a mountain range if you can see the laser. On the other side the field is 0 just go for it is pretty accurate as well I used the khandagle into the barrel to gone with the plastic Barrel spacers on the end you have to screw it down to tighten it up inside the barrel Works real good as well
That thing looks like it is well made!
Looks like a pretty sweet gadget!
Works good
Could have moved plate to the dot if easier? Correct?
I'll bet it works great on stainless!
I think I'll get me one of those! I'm not a "gadget guy", but I can see how that would be helpful.
Worked out good
@@WHOTEEWHO I got my .270 bore sighted at a gun shop several years ago when I put a Nikon on it after the old Tasco bit the dust. Evidently, someone who sights in right hand doesn't work for a left hand shooter. It was WAY off! Took me 9 rounds to get it back on. But I've not had to touch it since. I like that Nikon just fine!
I love it.
Can you provide link where to get your bore laser sighted?
Great instruction video! I have the same bore sighter and will be bore sighting my new Ruger American Gen II 450 BM Standard. I put a Leupold 3x9x40 450 Bushmaster scope on it with Vortex Pro Series rings in medium height. Should use the same -2" from bullseye for the 450. at 10 yards, or should I use a different measurement for the 450? I'll be shooting the same Hornady Black 250g FTX as you shot out of the custom built AR. Thank in advance for any advice you can provide.
The 2 inches is really the distance from the center axis of your barrel to center axis of your scope. 2 inches is close enough for just about any set up ay 10 yards
@@WHOTEEWHO Make sense. Thanks for taking to time to respond. Much appreciated.
Damnit Bobby getting hi tek on us
@E Van ❤
Your welcome
will the magnet stick to a stainless barrel?
Yes
Depends on the stainless alloy used, some are magnetic, some are not.
@@michaelmothershed3852 gun barrels will be using the higher iron content.
I like your 6.8
Great video!
How do you know the magnet find the center of the barrel???
You don't, that's why it's a bad design.
I hate that this laser boresighter just has a flat, smooth magnet and no centered bore post. You have to eyeball whether it’s centered when attached.
I love your channel because you use guns that the common person can afford. Definitely not a gun snob.
Appreciate you watching Jacob. I am just a regular ol dude
Ordered me one !
Love mine
Neat tool Adam! Thanks!!
What 2 shooting rests is he using? Was there a reason for using 2 different rests for the same sighting in session.
Looks like a really good product. A bullet saver for sure
Worked out good
Your link in Amazon with this item ... currently unavailable
Thanks for the info my friend
Thanks for watching Sam
Great Video....Thanks
Enjoy your sighting method. 👍☕😎
So who makes it?
How does it work with a stainless bbl?
When you are sighting in how do you put the magnification on the scope ? Is it all the high or the lowest?
Very slick!
I wonder how many people will forget to remove it 1st 🤣
Worked well, tanks
Hey Randy
I have one like this and they are great, nice video !
Awesome. I love it
Great video Mate regards Trevor.W.Bacelli.
This very cool enjoyed this man (:
Thanks for watching!
@@WHOTEEWHO my pleasure!
What kind of shooting rest/vise are you using?
Good stuff my friend
In your opinion, what would you say is the best all around caliber for Deer?
.270 !
Depends on range. Just about any of them work great inside 100 yards
How about with current ammo availability?
Sir you just kicked an ant mound !!! just about everyone has a different opinion on best all around caliber, the one you're comfortable shooting will work, buuuttttt just can't hardly beat the infamously 30-06, ammo is usually available just about anywhere, but there are lots of others that are just as good, if you're afraid of recoil 7mm-08 is good as .243 is also, .308, 6.5 cm, choice is endless , good luck choosing
Did you just get lucky on zeroing that? Or do you have a set digital calipers that can actually verify that?
Knowing you WTW you probably have that eye kind of like a hawk love it.
Please tell me how to contact this seller, my factory can produce this product!
Always informative videos would like to hunt with you here in Tennessee I'm in erin Tennessee and have access to some property
@@WHOTEEWHO I'm in erin Tennessee in Huston county
I saw this video a while ago. I was wondering if you have any of your rifles with a 20 MOA rail mounted on it. I'm having a hard time sighting it in. Do you think this bore sighted would work on a 20 MOA rail¿ This 6.5 PRC ammo is far from cheap. In theory would i have to add 20 MOA to it further out i go. Kinda confused with this 20 MOA. I might just be over thinking it. BTW I just ordered this bore sighted yesterday. Thank you WTW you the man my brother
Yup I use this on the 20moa rails too
@@WHOTEEWHO thank you for your reply WTW. Keep those videos coming. BTW Pennsylvania is now finally getting some of that Tennessee white stuff 😆 lol
🥶🥶🥶
bore sighting are helpful.cost efficentcy for ammo........
Wheeler has the same well almost the same bore sigther
thanks for the info
Thanks for watching John
Probably everybody on here knows, but I do not. Why do you sight it to a spot NOT on the crosshairs?
To make up for the trajectory so you aren’t trying to zero at 100+ yards. The further the round goes, aerodynamics and bullet drop affect the bullet. Shorter distances give you a more precise indication of bullet travel
I have never seen one like that before.
Went to Amazon to look and bore sighter and there unavailable
i want this cartridge to replace to the 7mm rem mag and 270, all depends on manufacturer supply
@Whoteewho Do you still use a bore sighter like this one?
This one finally gave out. I need to get a new one
Saving them bull-lots 😁🦌🐗🐿️
Absolutely
what if your gun has big ark or very flat shooting, do you still use the same 10 yard sight picture?
Yes. Still good enough to get you on paper at 100 yards
Hey go hunting with your savage model 93 this year.
Good idea
That is cool !!
Works great
The laser thingee is unavailable on Amazon as of this second.
Daggumit
first of all I have fired a air rifle but wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to simply put a large piece of cardboard at a 100 yards or meters, fixate your rifle so that it cant move on a surface that also cant move, fire a round and then adjust your reticles to where the round hit, then fire a second round to make sure the rifle hasn't moved? Obviously you have to make sure to aim the rifle so that it hits the cardboard first.
That's fine if you only have one gun to zero with unlimited time and ammo. The idea of a boresighter is to get you on paper. I personally have better things to do than to drag a refrigerator sized box out to the range, shoot it full of holes then drag it back home.
@@donmunro144 if you do it right you should only need two rounds, one when you put the hole in the cardboard and a second after you adjusted the sights on the gun so that they are at the hole and a second round to to make sure you hit the same hole, if the gun is properly fixated on a surface that doesn't move it should hit the same hole and you only sight in one gun at the time
That is assuming you hit the cardboard on the first shot. I've seen brand new scopes that were 3 feet off at 100 yrds out of the box. I've also seen rings that were machined wrong and you couldn't hit a 4x8 foot sheet of plywood @ 50 yds. I'm not saying that your way won't work. It certainly does.
obviously, but if you have a piece of cardboard that is at least 3*3 yards you should have a great chance at hitting it
Tell ya what. You do it your way and I'll do it my way. While you're looking for a huge piece of cardboard, I'll be in my tree stand.
this would be a handy thing to have. save some ammo. thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching dragonrider!
If I didn’t already have the other kind I’d get one!
Worked out good
Will that stick to stainless
Should
Hi from TAZI au seems to know his stuff
Awesome! Now i gotta get one! 😆
Great video
Thanks Timothy!
if Hank Hill recommends it. Im listening to him.
Dangit bobby
@@WHOTEEWHO you're awesome.
I don’t like those bore sighters because you don’t know if it’s centered or not! I’d rather use the ones that are a bullet that gets you centered perfectly!
I've used both. This is better
Nice 👍
I noticed the vise on sighting in. Then went to the lead sled. Does the 6.8 kick?
Not any worse than 3006. Rest just helps eliminate human error
@@WHOTEEWHO Thanks, that's not bad. I use the sled too !!
Load it on up and get in all the zoomies ya can scoob scoob scooby doo bop 😎
Why are you sighting in at 100 yards with the long range setup you have there ?
I sight in everything at 100 yards
Neato.
That is alright thanks , rock on : :)
What brand of scopes do you use?
Several. Depends on budget and distance. Zerotech probably my favorite. Blackhound is great affordable stuff. Pinty for budget brand. I am actually a blackhoud dealer 🤷♂️.

@@WHOTEEWHO I am wanting to get a 4-12 for my remmington 30-06 what would you recommend?? 200-400 price range
@@jacobs.9230 zerotech vengeance or blackhound 4-14x would be plenty good. If most of your shots will be fairly close nothing wrong with an even cheaper one from walmart - simmons or Centerpoint. I have a dew of those too
What brand is the second sled?
