Nick, your description of the goods and bads are spot on as my own perception. Congratulations on your ability to be concise and precise. I Also moved up from 4Gs/GSA, so I am very much looking forward to your future reports. Cheers
Great video Nick, honest reviews are the best, people who buy a bike and immediately say they love it or its the best ever etc. are not being honest. You have to live with it for a while and get to know its good and bad points, and only time and miles will tell.
Good morning from California, thanks for the great personal perspective of the K1600 GT. I traded in my 21 Honda Goldwing on my first ever BMW...I purchased the R 1250RT and was very close to getting the K1600 GT something I plan on doing within a year or two. Loved your review and very much looking forward to your France trip. Take care and thank you.
Hello from Canada...I don't own a 1200, 1250 or 1600 but I really enjoy your video's. I recently retired and i'm researchimg a retirement motorcycle for myself. I'm interested in BMW's GS1250 or maybe the RT & find your video's and insights extremely helpful. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into each and every video. Your 1600 is beautiful. Best of luck with it and stay safe.
Thanks a lot for your comments. The RT is a very accomplished motorcycle overshadowed by its multi-function brother the GS. If you have no need for the off-road as many of us don’t and don’t want to customise it to within an inch of its life. I’d consider the RT 👍🏻
I was so excited, back in 18, when I got my first K1600 Grand America and was hoping this K will stay with me for many years from one to the other, but after reaching 12k on it, I had noting but nightmare and was sad for me. I was so disappointed. I was at the dealer more then riding . It turned me off totally and I sold her. BMW finished me. I loved the bike and the power, the shift assist, the sound, the ride. And, I love the new style GT in black. I own 2020 Goldwing DCT Tour and I can't see myself going back to BMW. Your video is fantastic and you are correct on everything. I hope she will serve you well.
A most interesting review. I frequently use the A34 to reach the south coast from south Warwickshire and was actively considering buying a K1600 to use for this journey in place of my do-it-all Honda NC750X. However, your comment regarding spending more time in traffic because the K1600 is too wide to filter was a deal-breaker for me as the A34 is notorious for huge traffic jams. A real shame too as I do like the K1600.
@@nickhodgeUK That southbound stretch from Sutton Scotney to Winnal can be sole-destroying fi you're in a car...as can be the increasingly busy M3/M27 junction...and don't start me on the A31 through the New Forest..
Great vid as always Nick hope you can keep us posted on the connected app as regards to sat navigation. This as been a deal breaker for me so far so interested to see how you get on with it. 👍
Great review Nick, I enjoy your presentation style and will continue to watch and follow even though my own bike is a GS. Have a good French trip when it happens.👍
Hi from Minnesota… I traded in my 1250RT for a KGT and have never looked back! Hope your year with yours has been a good one! I’ll never go back to an RT!
Hi Craig. I have relatives from Minnesota. My aunt (now deceased) lived in White Bear Lake and I regularly visit cousins in Lino Lakes and Cottage Grove. I also ran the UK office of Northern Tool and Equipment so was often in Burnsville. Small world. I’ve done over 13,000 miles on her now and she’s still beautiful 👍🏻
Рік тому+1
Thank you for taking us along your journey. Really good review 👍
That’s very reassuring to hear the Connected App can be 90% reliable. On my 2019 GSA it was unusable. I’ve recently picked up a 2022 GS but not been brave enough to try it again!
A bike I've always fancied. Thanks for the review and tips. So we have to do 600-700 running-in miles, no biggee. And if you don't, well go find the channel that blew up their new M1000RR without running it in first- guess what BMW told them to go and do when they went "warranty claim?" ;-) . And yes, I do know about Ari Henning's running-in experiment. Lordy knows the 1600 has the most ludicrous procedure for checking the engine oil level, but no excuse for the 1st service cost.
I was fortunate as had a trip which did those miles swiftly. The oil level is a bind as unlike my previous boxer engined machines, she does use a little
Thanks. No video on France as it was a family wedding and first time wife pillion for ‘serious’ miles so didn’t want to be faffing. But there’ll be plenty of content coming on the K16. Suffice to say the 1,000 miles was ‘eaten’ up 👍🏻
The RAM Mount part RAP-B-379-M81208 is your handlebar mount solution. Replaces the bolt that holds the switchgear to the cast handlebar. I have two fitted to my bike, and they're really useful.
@@nickhodgeUK Just realised that it's the Wunderlich MultiPod adaptor that screws into the handlebar, and that enables you to attach the RAM ball mount. Sorry for the previous misleading comment.
Use a AUFU 3A Fast Charging Magnetic Charging Cable Type C USB Cable which has a Rotating strong Magnet. I have this on my Honda Forza 350, and I don't need to see the inlet hole on the phone as it snaps on with the magnet. Have a nice ride
I’ll check it out Lennart. I’ve seen those but there’s so little room lightning end. If you look at the BMW one in the vid it’s 90 degree and slightly ‘cranked’ outward. Really poor design. Expect the limiting factor was stock of fairing parts or something 👍🏻
On the handlebars, I bought longer bolts that I put through a Ram mount on both handlebars so I have a ball mount on each side and mounted a 3 ball joint to that so I have a total of 4 ball mounts if needed.
@@nickhodgeUK That’s a better spot than where I’ve been keeping mine. I still use them for my Garmin Montana though when I’m deep in the mountains with no signal.
Hi great video I tested the GT earlier this year and the engine fantastic, my only gripe was at 6 ft 1 in the pegs were to high and was getting cramped knee’s Answer the Grand American with the floor board legs way out brilliant Picked it up 2 weeks ago
At 6’2” I had to add a couple of mod’s to my GT for a proper fit. Wunderlich bar riser & the footpeg lowering kit. I also got rid of the crappy stock seat for an RDL. Amazing motorcycle.
Hi Nick, I think the comment you mentioned (ride the dam bike Nick) are my thoughts entirely , don’t get me wrong, totally, some of the Teck stuff is very useful but can be a pain when as electronic devices have a mind of their own, I do not like music, phone calls etc can wait until I am home, any emergency call is routed differently and I will stop and sort it, nav is good , again not to be relied on totally, after all that, pleased you like the bike and knocking a few miles out, my GS R1250 has gone and I am stepping back to more of a pure motorcycle which will now fulfill my requirements, ride safe Nick, Cheers, Derek
Nice video Nick of a road I know so well! Like you I prefer to ride with my toes on the foot pegs rather than “flat footed”. Just one other comment and one that I’m sure you appreciate but didn’t expand on, the running in process is so much more than about the engine/gear box, it does give the brakes, tyres etc that necessary bedding and scrubbing in time. I know the BMW model that I ride always gets criticised for a weak rear brake but with some miles on it now, it’s really good. Being old school, it’s the one I use first and foremost.
Hi Roger. Yes. I agree on bedding in, including your bedding in with the bike! It’s just the rush to get the stuff in and out and the 140 mile round trip. Hey ho, another reason to ride!! 👍🏻
Hi Nick I am watching your BMW K1600 series as I am currently in Australia riding my brothers '20 K1600 GT. We have just completed a 3500 km's tour through NSW, Sth Australia, Victoria and Tasmania and I have to say I am totally smitten by the K1600 and will be swapping my GSA for one when I get home. Like you I found it difficult to find how to mount things to the handlebar. I noticed you said about the stubb you used on the screw into the handlebar mount. May I inquire where you managed to find that item as it is something I will need. Thanks for K1600 videos, I tend to agree with everything you say and I can't wait to get mine and start riding in the UK. Cheers
Hi. Glad you liked it. The stub I use are on eBay. Usually a pair. Enter BMW1200RT or BMWS 1250RT (it the same as the K1600) GPS/Phone mount. They take a while to arrive from china
hi nick, there's a phone power jack in the phone compartment, you need a usb c to iPhone cable with a 90 degree connector. it's hard to see except from the throttle side
Hi Jim. Yes thanks. Still tough to find a 90 degree lightning end (short) with a USB-C on the other end and only about 9 inches long. BMW do one but it’s £30!!! In fact I’ve asked every dealer I’ve visited and no one stocks it. Currently I have a very short USB-C to USB-A adapter cable as there’s not enough room for an adapter without cable. Then a short USB-A to lightning 90 degree short cable. Still a VERY tricky placement IMO 👍🏻
Always measure your smiles with the miles and the $$$ you spent. K 1600 is a Superb bike with two Design Faults. 1.) No Active Cruise (I personally don't care if it did have it) 2.) Phone holder that is a disaster to work with. Designers in Berlin excelled with the RT's phone holder with the wireless charging and the Active Cruise. And, failed miserably on the K 1600 which is the flagship cruiser of the brand. As someone who owned GS, GSA, K 1600 and the RT, if you never do off roading, the RT is the shining star of the Touring bikes. If you do on and off roading GS and GSA are unbeatable. In my opinion and for my riding style, K 1600 was way too heavy especially with the full tank of gas. Cheers!
I agree they should have been available although like you I’m not sure about ACC on a bike. I love it in my car but it brakes fiercely if traffic does, which is good but I think I need be more aware on a bike than a car??? 👍🏻
The XR is a great bike to ‘play’ with but man. I struggle with miles on the plank of a seat. Also with the acceleration of the XR it’s all you can do to not slide back 🤣 👍🏻
So good inputs and insights! Full of information. Honest opinion is always welcome.Thank you for it. What is your experience using the radio in highways related to a small volume that does not allow you to listen to the sound anymore?
Hi Alberto. In my opinion the radio is VERY poor. I’m not so concerned about the external volume as I think it’s a little rude to go through a village with your radio blasting and both me and pillion have headsets to listen. My issue is there are seldom any stations on DAB to listen to. The auto tuning is very poor and there is no manual way. It was fitted on my bike as part of the LE package but I certainly wouldn’t specify it as a £600 option 👍🏻
Nick, I don't get that problem as you describe, with the bikes radio. I'm on the 2021 RT and it does hold onto radio stations well and self adjusts as you build up distance. Obviously the local radio stations come in an out as you travel. I find when travelling for a long while listening to the radio is good and actually quite helpful with concentration.
Hi Nick, I enjoy your vids and am looking forward to your touring vids. I have a 09 K1300 GT and my mate has 13 K1600 GT. The 1600 has a far nicer riding position than my 1300. Performance wise they are quite close however the 1600 is far smoother and much more comfortable. I'm am going to swapping out to a GSA 1250 simply because of the amount of gravel/dirt roads here in Aus. I'm looking at a retirement trip around Europe/UK in a few years so I love any of the touring content. Cheers.
@@nickhodgeUK The bars are adjustable on the 1300. I have them up and back . It's the foot pegs that I find are the problem. Certainly a more sporty position than the 1600. The older I get the less comfortable it becomes ! Perhaps a little ironically the GS\GSA are lighter and more comfortable than my 1300. And the big tank is very useful in a country like Aus.
As always, a very thorough run through of your initial thoughts of K16 ownership. As expected it’s quite a bike. Though I do find it amazing how manufacturers can build these incredibly sophisticated machines to fall down on silly stuff. The phone cable thing for example. But then there’s a bit of old school with it, actually has room under the seat to put something of use. All I’ve got on my GS is a spare key fob battery. 😂
@@nickhodgeUK my friend waiting patiently for update from you after the trip, great break down so far. Really hope to hear about your long term review of this amazing machine.
Plus size phones do not fit. You are right. And, still no backlit handlebar switches for low light or night riding either. BMW is premium, all their beautiful cars have illuminated controls and buttons. The two divisions supposedly talk to each other. Would also be nice if blind spot indicators in the mirrors were part of an option package one day. Still a worthy beast otherwise.
@@nickhodgeUK Agree! But not everyone knows them as intimately as you. How about this perspective for the brainstorming committee Nick. Those new to the product line, those not, riding as regular as to gain such familiarity. Lastly. BMW puts great importance on the Option 719 specialization/customization package. This is where such items as described can be offered. “Build it, they will come”. BMW of Dreams! Just my .2 Ride safe and often.
Oh I’m sure as either an option ‘pack’ or as you say Option 719. I just think about the millions of switch shells they have 🤣. I have the floor lighting option as on tour we book private parking and often you drop keys or ear plugs in dark garages so hoping that’ll be £80 well spent 👍🏻
I'd love a K1600 but a big own goal is the lack of the adjustable cruise control. The excuse of they couldn't find space for it when they redesigned the front end already doesn't wash with me. Between the 2 i'd have got the RT
Interesting. I’m not sure there’s not space. I do know in the UK the RT option was removed through lack of sensors and a software glitch. Friend has the new RT and couldn’t get it. I’m not sure it’s that huge though. Not for me anyhow. Love it in my car but it can brake suddenly that I’m not sure I’d like 👍🏻
On my 21 GSA I've done more than 9,000 miles and my success rate with the connected app must be above 98%. I have got a Samsung Galaxy phone.... so not sure if they have got issues with iPhones or your bike had a dodgy software. I nearly had some issues when the helmet headset won't connect but that is rare. I hope that BMW will ditch their limited app and will bring on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto into the bikes but I guess is unlikely knowing how greedy they are.
Great video and a very honest review. Look forward to hearing how pillion gets on with bike and how the handling changes or not as the case maybe. I did drop you an email and thought miserable sod hasn't replied, but now realise your in France.
It’s on the handlebar mount without ANY reduction bushes. I then have an arm and the vibration mount to stop the camera breaking on the phone and that’s it. You may want to but a couple of spacers. In the scheme of things they’re cheap and help any flexibility you need. I don’t use a waterproof cover though 👍🏻
Hi Nick, great first service report. It’s nice to have your sensible perspective on this bike. As you know, I’m split between 3 bikes. Your reviews of this bike has got me confused further as to what to lay my cash on in November. I mentioned I loved my K1200S, which was the grandad to the K1600 series. I can’t wait to test ride one in September, and there are so many useful things going on with the new RT and KGT. As you know, I’d talked myself back round to a GS Adventure. However, that’s due an update, panniers are extra and there are a lot of creature/convenience features missing off the GSA. Yet, I started to fantasise about doing some gravel/poorly surfaced tracks in Wales, Scotland and the Lake and Peak Districts. The only answer which I can’t do now I remarried is to have a collection of bikes. Maybe I just have to be an arse to the wife V2.0 so I can get a GSA and a K1600GT! Only thing is, why do I need to think about pillion comfort, unless I aim for wife V3.0? Have a safe trip down to France, and I’m going to be really interested in your pillion’s opinions on your choice of motorcycle. Please ask for a comparison of the GSA and GT from the pillion perspective. Also, get up to London and filter around Piccadilly and the West End! Thanks for another great video.
@@nickhodgeUK I could make a comment here, which, I’m sure, as a man of the World, you can figure out. (It’s to do with the “quality of the suspension”)😉
I think there has been real supply issues stopping some of these launches but with 2023 being BMW Motorrad centenary I expect quite a few new models 👍🏻
Listening to talk about the phone holder not been too good , what I found is a cock pit bag from Nippy Normans , you can put you phone in plus charge it up on the move , it is a good piece of kit I went from a 19 plate RT to a 19 plate k600 , glad a made the chance of bike 😊
I’ll take a look at that Michael. Although you’ll see on my 1600 I have the quad lock on the ‘stub’ you can buy off eBay (normally advertised as RT but it’s the same) 👍🏻
Very enjoyable video, have just subscribed. I’m currently a GSA owner, bought new in 2018 with 36k trouble-free miles. My rear brake was poor also, with continual bleeding not really helping. Once the dealers had removed & cleaned it, it was transformed… Thinking of a K1600 in the future, possibly the bagger LE. Apart from the additional weight, my slight concerns would be the fuel consumption (I’m a bimbler, and get 60-65mpg from the GSA!), and increased Tyre wear. Mind you, that engine… Thanks for sharing your experiences, looking forward to future videos. Cheers, Paul
Thanks Paul. You won’t get spammed with my videos for sure 🤣 although here in the UK it’s mainly seasonal riding with me. Off for 6,500 miles to Nordkapp at the top of Norway and down Finland for the whole of June, so hopefully be at least a summary of that on the K16 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK enjoy your trip - I went with Magellan Motorcycle Tours last year through Finland, Norway as far as the Arctic Circle, and back down through Sweden (didn't film it though..) Fantastic trip, and had surprisingly great weather.....! All the best 👍
So your service visit journey start. Make sure you have with you next times your favorite biscuits because after few visit in service you will be fed up with same taste and you will be regular there trust me….talking from my 2018 gtl experience. I guess first issue will be left switches on handlebar and next issue will be engine then transmission and then windscreen rattling noise and list will go on.
@@nickhodgeUK i will keep fingers crossed because it is amazing motorcycle with some issue which i have never experienced owning any japanese bikes. Can you tell me if your k1600 pull to one side when you barely touch handlebars?
@@abazdarhon no. It’s not bad at all although difficult to tell this trip as have a pillion but managed to remove and replace glove today ok. If anything it drifts a little to the right (as did my adventure) but it’s not alarming for sure
@@nickhodgeUK have a long successful trips with good memories. This is such amazing piece of kit that even despite this bike issues I am thinking about new one lol. The handling of this bike is like sport bike while feel comfort of cruiser and nimble of naked bike.
Hi Nick, enjoyed your running in video, and I'm pleased you have more positives than negatives with your new bike, I currently own a 9 month old 1250 GSA, my third one, I have dropped my GSA's at least twice attempting to shuffle backwards up hill on loose terrain loosing my footing then going over, then cursing myself for not walking the bike rearwards, so a reverse gear sounds heaven. The only saving grace with the GSA, as you know it's relatively easy to pick back up as it doesn't go over all the way with that Boxer engine. If I was to change for another bike it would be the K 1600 that I would go for, my only reservation I have being a very fit 65 year old, could I manage it weight wise, or should I go lighter. I look forward to further details on that silky smooth K 1600. thank you.
Hi Stephen. Glad you liked it. So far so good on the weight front. I’ve not tried getting it too far off upright to try though in fairness. Being lower to the ground and reverse certainly helps. As you can probably see from the vids. My back yard is gravel too. 😬 👍🏻
Stephen - I traded in my 2012 K1600GT had turned 52000 and purchased the identical bike to Nick back in June - absolutely well worth the change. You just do not feel the weight on this bike. I also removed the saddle bags on my new bike ( 50Lbs) and put on a tail bag which is expandable, I keep tools whatever in there, glass cleaner, Motorcycle wash spray, spare gloves, thermos and when I take my top jacket off and prefer to wear my mesh jacket, it easily tucks into the tail bag once expanded - slick setup. I do not travel with the side cases I prefer to use a roll-bag. SO simple - two rox-straps to easily undo and off I go. Then I can easily remove any crud off brakes, detail the bike as I daily do even on trips and i'm golden - back in the saddle strap down the roll-bag and carry on. When I traded in my 2012 it had the top box color keyed and the saddle bags and all three were brand new - hilarious - but the bike is so easy to maneuver - go ahead trade up i don't think you will regret it.
Hi Nick, just wondered if you contemplated a GW bagger with a top box? I have a GW bagger with a colour coded Shad top box. My wife has lost a bit of interest hence doesn’t go on the back much. Maybe one trip a year if I’m lucky. I love the wing but was thinking of something a bit more sporty although the GW is surprisingly capable for it size. I test rode the KGT the weekend still not sure if a swap would be the right thing. I just love the sound of the engine. I’m not convinced in real world the KGT is much quicker than my GW DCT in sport mode. It could be the GT. I just thought I would ask. It could be after nearly 3 years I feel like a change but don’t want to regret it. Cheers Matt
Hi Matt. Never contemplated wing. I have a mate who had one for some time and it was pretty sporty. His only real issue was ground clearance (he had footboard adaptation as he has leg damage). The K16GT (my model) is sporty and handles very well for a big bike. I’ve done 13,000 miles in her now and I still love it. You could consider the K16GTL as a halfway house although for me it was too spongy. I have the BMW colour-coded topbox which is wicked at £1,200 but it has an interior light, but more important it connects (as the panniers) to the central locking. Again the GTL comes WITH the topbox. Can’t help with your comparison but I can recommend the K16. The only downside if the slow weight but you’ll be used to that with the wing. Good luck in deliberations 👍🏻
I get a kick out of people that knit pick a bike thats north of 30K only well off people would understand I guess its a rich mans world it seems that is a great bike probably the top bike anywhere maybe BMW will increase the phone holder to accommodate a 17 inch monitor
Greetings from NY - I’ve had a 1250GSA and then a Ducati 1260 Enduro - I just bought the new Husky 501s for all of my trail riding so I’m back to wanting a mile-eater; this machine looks like a bullet train. Engine seems silky smooth with power everywhere. Great review Nick. While it is a big bike, it’s seems like it moves like a light one, having weight centered down low. I wonder, are your feet flat on the ground at a stop? I’m 5’9” and I’m flat footed on my wife’s RT. That’s important to me. I’ll be off to my dealer for a test ride. I want to ride the new Multi v4 as well. Thx for the review.
Hi Tony. They are but I’m 6ft 1in so they were almost on the GSA. I think from memory the seat height is less than 1 inch higher than the RT. She’s certainly smoooooooothhhh and on my recent 1,000 mile 2-up French road trip very compliant to throttle at low speed even in 6th. Certainly where the boxer struggles without cultured clutch control 👍🏻
My wife has suddenly stated that she might like to start to be a pillion again on nice days (after a 20 year break - kids etc). She said that she'd really like pillion comfort, so the 2 bikes that I was thinking of are this and the Goldwing. The Goldwing price if fully loaded is a staggering 34 grand, so I'm thinking 10 grand cheaper for a K1600GT is a bargain. Will be interested to see how you get on with a pillion tour (I presume the top box you have on order had the pillion backrest?). Looking forward to more vids on your life with the GT
Siôn. We got on great two up. Consider this though. The GW is renowned for passenger comfort but not to dynamic to ride. The K16GT (as I have) is a stiff tourer that really handles, so still a ‘rider’s bike’. The top box is extra and has a backrest. I borrowed one and wife said very comfortable. Consider too the ‘middle ground’ K16 GTL which comes WITH box and speakers and can have armrests too. It’s a more luxurious (soft) ride than the GT. certainly my pillion was very happy with comfort 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK I'm going to be moving from a 1290 superduke GT, so the sportier, the better. I will still probably be 80 or 90 percent solo, so the idea of being able to remove the top box and still have a spirited ride appeals a lot
All luggage comes off easily. The panniers easier than the box. They’re just a twist of the key and lift. The box needs both seats lifted (the rear is two screws but there is a screwdriver under the seat) then unplug the interior light cable and twist the catch. No more than 5 minutes for all 👍🏻
The panniers on the GT and RT (min 18:10) are not identical. On the RT, because of the exhaust cut out, the right pannier will not hold a full face helmet while on the GT no problem.
Thanks for that. Never tried it although I will now as mate has RT. The pannier racks and protective film fit both so must be that back panel that’s different 👍🏻
Hi again. Just checked this with a 2021 RT (TFT model) and they are identical inside and out. If you look at an RT from the rear the panniers even have the exhaust cut away RH and LH as the K16 although the pipe is only on the right. I mounted my panniers on the RT and vice versa and a full face helmet fits in both panniers 👍🏻
Hi Nick, Michiel here from Holland. Riding a GSA 2021 at the moment, fully loaded. Like you mentioned...a horizontal bike engine. What's your experience so far with the 6-cilinder line engine....still doubting on that one. So, I mean according to balance and doing busy traffic. Really loved your way of going through all the stuff on K 1600!
Hi Michiel. It’s a different bike for sure but I’m getting used to it. It tours beautifully and is very comfortable, although the GS is too of course. The weather protection is another step on. The GT I have handles really well despite its weight. It does do ok in traffic although it is a little slower to steer at slow speed. It is very forgiving though, no matter the gear you’re in. So much more so than the GS. All in all I’m happy having done a couple of decent multi-day trips on it 👍🏻
Lovely machine Too big and heavy for me ,I was hoping you was going to give us a bit of info on the big 1st service general cost for oil / filter good kick the of tyres and replace any air , ££££
Hi Martin. I try never to pay for this service and always try to get it as a final negotiation point. It’s not any different for the K16 on this as the GS. About £140 I think. She is heavy for sure in traffic and zero speed manoeuvring but once moving she’s surprisingly nimble and very fast (enough and more) 👍🏻
Nope. I have very bad experience of both the Nav 6 and TFT/connected app combo in my GS’s but it seems to work well on the K16. It’s possible I’ll never use it but I’ve had sometimes past when I just want to ‘Google map’ it from A to B. Deep down I’ll be very happy to remove the distraction but past experience tells me not to ‘count my chickens…’ 👍🏻
that not a bike but a cruise ship . a pretty one . the first maintenants , the oil is little thinner so the partikels , from rodating the engine sinks faster to the magnet oil bolt .
Yep. I get that, it’s the need for it I question although BMW UK do the PDI on the bike so I guess it’s the 1st opportunity the dealer has to make sure all is good?? 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK yes also to start the warrenty in a good position. many say you only need to change oil avery 10 or 15000 km . dont do that . do it avery 6000 klm or avery 6 months .
Interesting. More important than where you keep your tools is where you stow the First Aid kit? Music: instead of Spotify use the Music App on your iPhone where you can curate all your (and your wife’s) favourite music. Is front and rear braking completely separate? Isn’t there a linked system? Stay safe🕊
First aid kit always in Topbox and easily accessible. Yes. The brakes are a linked system so the front brake probably applies the rear brake better than me but sometimes I want to trail brake into corners with just the rear and you daren’t allow that in the BMWs I’ve tried it on. Expect the sportier bikes are more honed for that? 👍🏻
@@ernier9033 you are of course correct on that ride. 🤣 I now have it in a dull blue second hand One off an RT. It DOES have the optional brake light though 👍🏻
I had an issue with Spotify as well - slightly different to yours. I just had my phone connected to my Sena, via bluetooth, and when I would listen to Apple Music, after about 30 minutes, it would randomly start skipping to the next track, never playing more than half of a song. Annoying. Turned out the reason was, Spotify was open in the background, not playing, and it apparently was having a sook because it wasn't the app playing the music. I fully quit the app, and have had no more problems since.
Hi Nick. Great initial review and congrats on your nice new bike. I'm glad that you happened to mention the less-than-perfect radio reception. I ride a MY2021 R1250RT and I have the very same problem with the new antenna design. Radio reception outside urban areas is now really poor, at least when compared to my previous two R1200RTs which came with the butt-ugly rod antennas. If you don't want to dedicate one of the four favorite buttons for muting, how about fast-muting your media by scrolling the wonder-wheel's volume control to zero. That's what I do on my RT (the volume control is otherwise useless b/c it is incompatible with my Cardo/Arai combo). Some reviewers and commenters have expressed concerns for having to fumble for the four favorite buttons or taking your eyes off the road while using the menu. Well, I happen to be a former Finnish Air Force pilot and before were were allowed to start flying any aircraft, we had to pass the so-called 'bag test'. This entailed donning a flight helmet bag and being able to correctly operate every single switch in the cockpit - radio frequency changes included - without seeing them. Not difficult, per se, but it took a lot of practice. It is not hard to operate the buttons or complete the most often needed menu functions (zooming in and out on map displays, searching for new radio stations, checking out the vehicle status, etc.) without looking at the buttons or the TFT. I strongly urge all RT and K owners to make a second nature out of that. Good luck with your new beautiful K1600GT and have a wonderful trip to France. I am already looking forward to your comparo btw the K1600GT and the R1250RT.
Thanks for taking the time Porco. It’s weirdly comforting, but then not, to know it’s not my radio unit. Just why can’t they get the tech 100%. It’s mature technology too. I never worry too much about criticism on riding. People who criticise are also doing the same things. I wouldn’t for example be rushing to press any button in heavy fast traffic. Also eventually muscle-memory sets in and you can do it without even looking. 👍🏻
Hi Nick, on my RT I have the radio option fitted; assume that is what you have? I can mute my radio by scrolling the wonder wheel. Although it doesn't reduce/increase the actual volume (I do that with my Cardo volume wheel), you will see the volume level on the TFT screen increase/decrease. If you decrease it fully, it mutes the sound; at least, it does for me. Wonder if that works for you? I agree that national radio station reception can be a bit spotty. I did the NC500 last week, and R2 was very intermittent indeed. Look forward to hearing about your trip to France.
Hi Declan. Yes that’s my experience. With later headsets they will adjust volume with the wheel too but mine looks like it does, but doesn’t. Only using the buttons on the Sena. Overall very disappointing for what is listed as a £600 upgrade 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK Agreed. Another silly contraint imposed by BMW, just like they insist on using DIN sockets. My understanding is that it won't work on anything other than BMW in-house comms, so System 7 I believe. I have the new Packtalk Edge, I was happy it muted the radio just scrolling the wheel to zero. I usually just notch up one "click" on the wheel to get volume, then adjust using my Cardo. This means I can mute using the wheel by scrolling down one notch. Saves a favourite button for something else 🙂
@@nickhodgeUK dealer called me the crate was damaged and the shopper won't ship rest of way so my dealer has to go get it from airport Tuesday, we don't know if the bike itself was damaged ... bummer.
No I didn’t. Bagger style doesn’t really do much for me and I wanted the stiffer ride of the GT even over the GTL. The other thing is the Bagger and GA has the tail lights, etc in the panniers. Another thing I didn’t like. Just back from a 6,500 mile trip on her and she did that with ease over 30 days 👍🏻
It’s the standard handlebar mount with an extension arm and vibration damper. I think the thing you need to know is there is also a stub extension from eBay that bolts in the end of the handlebar. These normally come in a pair and can be searched as BMW RT1200/1250 Handlebar mount or similar (same for the K16). I don’t use it much as the phone goes in the cubby and charges/runs the TFT mapping but I have a second phone on tour for when we take pictures as often these are just quick stops. Also sometimes we just need to get urgent fuel so plumb that into Google maps and mount phone there 👍🏻
Good video. Out of curiousity what are the servicing costs of the K1600 compared to a R1250 please? I have an R1250RT and am thinking of changing to a K1600GT next.
The oil services are similar to my GSA and mates RT. BMW have some very strange replacement schedules and the 12,000 mile I think specifies a spark plug change. They’re a bit tougher to access and there’s 6 so I’m expecting to pay maybe £100 more. It’s the 18,000 mile I think will be painful as its valve clearances and the possibility of 24 shims. On my recent 6,500 mile trip to Nordkapp and home with my mate on an RT I used a litre of oil (he used none) and about 10% more in fuel although that came closer at 80+MPH motorway work 👍🏻
Nope although I think it’s at the limit with Euro5 specification. They make the power the same as the old model at 1,000 less revs and added more knock sensors so think the inline 6 is now in its last run as I think regulation will stop it being improved more
Ah, totally different bikes. Done 3,000 miles on the K16 and it’s got stuff I love over the GS (weather protection, comfort, 2-up ride, comms, smoothness, response in any gear, etc) but the GS is taller, more economical, more suspension travel and of course they look totally different. I’d love both but so far happy with my purchase 👍🏻
Hi Len. Go on eBay and type in BMW R1250RT phone mount and a metal looking stub from china will come up. Buy a pair as they’re so cheap. May be a wait but they simply bolt on the end of the forged handlebars. Enjoy the K16 👍🏻
Question for you on your comment about "knowing you are htiting a bump" - I have a 2018 K1600B. I notice when I hit bumps (hard bumps/holes in the road) there is a "klunk" sound from the front end. I'm thinking its the telelever suspension. Do you have prior experience with this type of suspension (I do not, previoulsy had an S1000XR)? I've only got about 4K miles on my bike so I wouldnt think it would be defective...yet. I have not brought it in for service yet this season so I have not had BMW diagnose. Thanks for sharing your ride!
I think you need to get it checked. I’ve never had problems with the GSs which are the same and this is just ‘stiffer’ but I have heard some have issues (not many) that seemed premature on the K1600 and the GSs 👍🏻
Hi, i have one question, I will soon receive my K1600GA but i don't know how to hold my phone, so my question is, what do you use for hold your quadlock ? . thanks for your grate full video ; )
If the grand America has forged handlebars like the GT then just go on eBay and look for K1600 or R125RT phone mount and lots of the stub suppliers will pop up 👍🏻
I have a K1600 GT 2022. Bought the Quadlock stem mount, but it does not fit. Go to the K1600 forum and you will see a company advertising one that fits like a glove, and you can use the Quadlock with a Ram..
Having just got my new K1600, your review was spot on. My only gripe is having to get it back to the dealer so soon after getting it. 600 miles is nothing, and as the dealer can't take my bike for another month, I will be over the mileage limit. Not sure how this will affect warranty? Any thoughts on this?
Hi Allan. They’ve very loose on the actual mileage but I find it poor the dealer can’t take it for a month. I’d push them but as I say. It certainly won’t affect warranty or the bike 👍🏻
Hello Nick, can you check your oil electronic and bring that OK on screen. I ve tried in all positions and combinations and nothing. Mu bike a 22 Grand America it s at the dealer for one week and nothing. Thnx
Andrei Do you meant the Oil level light in the ‘My vehicle’ section of the TFT?? If so there is a ‘puma’ document from BMW that states when it should be on and the conditions that need to apply. They are many so the likelihood of it being on are slim. I use the sight window or dipstick on my new bike 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK thanks for your response, on my dipstick i found a lack of 200ml since my last revison 1000, now (2444km). I plan a trip to europe in september for about 4000km and maybe 1 l oil is enough to complete?
I would say yes as I’d not expect it to use any. I think the light would come on if it were very low but that may be too late!! If not carry it with me. Plenty of places to buy oil in Europe if needed 👍🏻
Hey Nick! How did you give back the R1250GSA to the dealership? What are the conditions of the return program, how much did they value it for and how much was it when it was new? I got myself the 2022 R1250GSA and am wondering about that for when I might want to upgrade to the R1300 in a few years. Thanks!
It’s tough to know as I buy my bikes outright, not on PCP. I think i paid £18,000 for the GSA in September 2020 and got £13,750 for it 2 years and 13,000 miles later so I guess about £180pm but servicing and stuff on top. I don’t tend to think about it or else I’d never do it. My bike was immaculate though 👍🏻
Nope you probably didn’t miss it. I wanted the slightly better handling of the GT. the GTL is a bit more spongy. Probably a smoother ride on the GTL but not, in my opinion as sporty. That said I have the top box (not the GTL wrap-around one) but the same one as the RT so it’s pretty close. Certainly a passenger would be a bit more comfortable on the GTL but the 1,500 mile I did with my wife in France received no complaints. “Pays you money and takes your choice” as they say 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK thanks for that information. I’m tall as well (6’4”) and heard the GT had a little more leg room? I’ll just have to give them both a try I guess…finding a complete new GSA in the USA is impossible! They’re either have a halogen headlight or they don’t have heated seats, or they’re missing electronic suspension.
I think 60 years ago, you had kill switch/kick start, indicator switch, light switch and a choke. Now go to a 2022 K16GT or Honda Goldwing and go count the buttons.
@@ridicule35 Doh, you've missed the point! I don't ride 60 year old bikes now! I ride current day bikes with all the bells n whistles, and I still do not need back lit switches. If the. Switchgear is so bad ergonomically that you need a light at night so you can look around for what you want that a recipe for an accident. Taking your eyes off the road at night just ain't clever.
Great job.. RT owner here, but I'm tempted by the smooth 6 and those brilliant switchable air vents. Hands off, do you find it drifting at all? Not recommended, I know, but most K16 I've tried seem to pull ever so slightly.. maybe exacerbated on the top box models
Hi Stan. Interesting that’s the 2nd comment on this. It may do a little to the left but no more than the GSA I’d say. Certainly it’s not stark. I had pillion on and removed glove no issue and replaced it later which takes a little longer. For sure any imbalance in load will exacerbate and I know the GA is limited in speed for the reason of the overhang of the top box and stuff to I think 110mph but frankly at that constant speed you’d not be able to afford the fuel as like most machines ‘mapped’ to Euro 4/5 compliance they are at their best
I wish these motorcycle manufacturers would stop trying to create their own apps. They suck at software development and UX design, and I want to use the apps that I want to use which have all my custom settings, waypoints, more advanced multi-stop routing capabilities, etc. I don’t even want to connect my Bluetooth headset, GoPro, or anything else because functionality becomes disabled, such as voice control, when connected to the bike rather than the phone. It’s just a joke.
Yep. Nothing is ever perfect. The connected app is not bad though if it stayed connected. I’m going to use it exclusively in France so it’ll be kill or cure. Watch this space 👍🏻
The RT for sure is very underrated and falls foul of everyone thinking they need a GS when in fact they’re only using half its capabilities in the main. Certainly the case with me 👍🏻
I thing. Although I am going to try it as a few have suggested. There is not room at the lightning end for that big a connector. If you look carefully at the BMW one not only is it 90 degree it’s also cranked outward as if it were straight it’s depth would stop even ‘normal’ iPhones. It’s REALLY poor design 👍🏻
Possibly they’ll stick with the 6.5 but then you will also need to stick with the Nav and pay licences to Garmin (Nav 6) and TomTom (connected app). I think they’ll make more of the connected cradle on the GS for serious adventurers using maps.me or similar while switching to the ability at least to use the connected app in map view and to do that successfully IMO you’d need more screen space…. We’ll see 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK Yes Nick agree that I'd expect them to make more use of the cradle. I base my statement on the specs that have been released to the web from what has for years been a very reliable source regards BMW cars. But we will see!
How about poor low end torque from a very wide and heavy motor. It is smooth, yes. But it is not nearly as quick as you would hope. Smokes a gold wing, and sucks exhaust vs a Sup Adv S.
Hi Nick great content as usual. You can change the SOS and probably the reverse switch mounts with mirror mount type and screw you mounts there. Check out NTP on his RT the K1600 should work the same way, I have attached a link. ua-cam.com/video/ZCowtdzw56c/v-deo.html
I thought that Tony and thanks for the link. I’ll take a look. I was mounting the quad lock in my mate’s RT and was convinced they’d be under there as the switch shells are standard but didn’t want to damage his new bike 👍🏻
The initial service requirement is BMW's gift to their dealers. First service is a farce, really unnecessary, and ridiculously expensive for a couple filters, oil, and some bolt tightening.
I’m presuming that’s Southampton. I’m hoping you stay up this season coz I like Southampton. I’m a Man United season fan holder and am obsessed with football and James Ward-Prowse is the best freekick tacker In the league by far whenever you get a freekick I just feel like it’ll be a goal
@@nickhodgeUK so after one week and 1000 miles, I returned the bike to the dealer, they gave me full money back and put it for sale as a loaner. I thought I loved it but then I took my multistrada v4s out and that was it, I was like why am I bothering w this bmw? It's nice for sure but something about it didn't sit well w me, thanks for your videos and see u on the road
I have iPhone Pro “Max”…. Contradictory to your comments, the Max will fit in the phone compartment comfortably.
Thanks for that. I don’t have one but for sure my iPhone 15 Pro with case will not so I presumed. I’ll correct in a future video 👍🏻
Nick, your description of the goods and bads are spot on as my own perception. Congratulations on your ability to be concise and precise. I Also moved up from 4Gs/GSA, so I am very much looking forward to your future reports. Cheers
Thanks Homero 👍🏻
Great video Nick, honest reviews are the best, people who buy a bike and immediately say they love it or its the best ever etc. are not being honest. You have to live with it for a while and get to know its good and bad points, and only time and miles will tell.
Indeed Barry. It still has much to prove 👍🏻
No worries, glad you liked it and like the RT ride safe 👍🏻
Thanks for your commentary! It is very pleasant riding along with you and hearing your thoughts on this bike.
No worries Martin. Glad you liked it 👍🏻
Good to watch. I was just wondering earlier today when we were going to get a bit of a review. Look forward to the upcoming videos.
Thanks Kenny. Glad you liked it 👍🏻
Dear Nick, you bought a great bike ( congrats and safe ride) thank you for sharing most valuable feedbacks ...
It’s a pleasure 👍🏻
Thank you. It’s sad when something do premium quality works out so poorly for you but glad you found home on the ‘wing’ 👍🏻
Your full of crap. The goldwing and its dct is a joke. Fake news baby.
Fast sweeping turns are amazing with this bike. You’ll be scraping pegs in France I think.
I think I may have to be a little more responsible so the wife doesn’t start nagging 🤣
🤣🤣 you may be braver than me. Interestingly I came down last night and filtered from Sutton scotney to winnall and the M3 to Southampton
This trip it’s my only source (unless I pop it on the Quad Lock and use Google maps!!! I’ll let you know 👍🏻
Great review Nick, I enjoy your presentation style and will continue to watch and follow even though my own bike is a GS. Have a good French trip when it happens.👍
Thanks Huw. On the Pompey ferry as we speak 👍🏻
Enjoying hearing your opinions on the new bike. Thank you.
Thanks Paul. Hopefully more coming 👍🏻
Thank you for taking us along your journey. Really good review 👍
Thank you Joäo 👍🏻
Good Luck with the New Bike Nick and I hope you enjoy France!
Thanks. 1st day here and we’ve cruised 300km+ 👍🏻
That’s very reassuring to hear the Connected App can be 90% reliable. On my 2019 GSA it was unusable. I’ve recently picked up a 2022 GS but not been brave enough to try it again!
It’s a different implementation on the 10.25 screen so working here I’m afraid doesn’t mean it will on the GSs 6.5 inch model unfortunately 👍🏻
Actually Nick, if you look at the magnetic plug on the FD and oil plug you will see some metal filings.
Maybe. We used to in the 70’s for sure but we got them back to get some good old castrol in them 🤣
@@nickhodgeUK Just took delivery of a new GSA and found filings in the first service.
Thx Nick for the pros / cons 👍 Looking forward to your trip review 😉
Thanks Michio 🤣
A bike I've always fancied. Thanks for the review and tips.
So we have to do 600-700 running-in miles, no biggee. And if you don't, well go find the channel that blew up their new M1000RR without running it in first- guess what BMW told them to go and do when they went "warranty claim?" ;-) . And yes, I do know about Ari Henning's running-in experiment.
Lordy knows the 1600 has the most ludicrous procedure for checking the engine oil level, but no excuse for the 1st service cost.
I was fortunate as had a trip which did those miles swiftly. The oil level is a bind as unlike my previous boxer engined machines, she does use a little
Sold my GSA, rode a GT, just lovely but I’m bike free for now and touring Australia in a van and loving it. Do love the GT but I dunno.
Give you a chance to save. Enjoy Van-Life 🤞🏻👍🏻
Excellent review. I have a 5 month old GSA and I am already thinking about making my next move. Hope you post your trip to France.
Thanks Iain 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK Just realised that it's the Wunderlich MultiPod adaptor that screws into the handlebar, and that enables you to attach the RAM ball mount. Sorry for the previous misleading comment.
@@IainWoolley no worries Iain. Thanks for updating it 👍🏻
Use a AUFU 3A Fast Charging Magnetic Charging Cable Type C USB Cable which has a Rotating strong Magnet.
That’s great Ryan. I quite like the GoPro where it is. It’s just a small point that you miss round handlebars when they’re gone! 👍🏻
That GA is massive. Looks so comfortable though. Enjoy 👍🏻
At 6’2” I had to add a couple of mod’s to my GT for a proper fit. Wunderlich bar riser & the footpeg lowering kit. I also got rid of the crappy stock seat for an RDL. Amazing motorcycle.
Thanks Greg. Considering risers 👍🏻
What a beautiful machine!
I still love it 👍🏻
Hi Nick, I think the comment you mentioned (ride the dam bike Nick) are my thoughts entirely , don’t get me wrong, totally, some of the Teck stuff is very useful but can be a pain when as electronic devices have a mind of their own, I do not like music, phone calls etc can wait until I am home, any emergency call is routed differently and I will stop and sort it, nav is good , again not to be relied on totally, after all that, pleased you like the bike and knocking a few miles out, my GS R1250 has gone and I am stepping back to more of a pure motorcycle which will now fulfill my requirements, ride safe Nick, Cheers, Derek
All totally fair Derek. Enjoy motorcycling is all it’s about 👍🏻
Nice video Nick of a road I know so well!
I would be very interested in you video on connecting the phone and gps to the bike.. Great running video. I just purchased a GT myself after a GSA
I’ll have a look Charlie. Watch this space 👍🏻
Enjoyed your views on the K1600.
Thanks 👍🏻
Love this bike, thanks for the time and video❤
Thanks. Glad you liked it 👍🏻
hi nick, there's a phone power jack in the phone compartment, you need a usb c to iPhone cable with a 90 degree connector. it's hard to see except from the throttle side
Hi Jim.
Agree. I had the 1250 GS HP and sold it for the GT. period,,,,still keeping the 22 XR M...dough
I thought I’d never use it but I really would. Just can’t get it to hold onto any national station 👍🏻
Cheers.
Thanks Ray. I think the 1300 ride is a bit flatter due to the bars?? It’s a nice looking bike though 👍🏻
Yes. The GS is particularly short of space. That’s why I was so surprised. Did you notice I squealed a bit when I said the connected app worked 🤣👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK my friend waiting patiently for update from you after the trip, great break down so far. Really hope to hear about your long term review of this amazing machine.
@DrKnowledgeBox I’m trying. Maybe now autumn is here in the UK
I’m not sure about illuminated switches. I long ago stopped looking at them as ALL BMW switches are in the same place
@@nickhodgeUK
Agree!
Love it in my car but it can brake suddenly that I’m not sure I’d like 👍🏻
Great review! Thanks! You have certainly covered some concerns that I had. What about slow manoeuvres? Easy to handle? Thanks - Kim
Hi Kim. Yes it’s fine. Obviously slower is more tricky but she seems to go where you want her 👍🏻
On my 21 GSA I've done more than 9,000 miles and my success rate with the connected app must be above 98%.
The android is the key it is an iPhone issue for sure. With the map view this is starting to grow on my as I now have the 1600 and it works 👍🏻

Great video and a very honest review. Look forward to hearing how pillion gets on with bike and how the handling changes or not as the case maybe. I did drop you an email and thought miserable sod hasn't replied, but now realise your in France.

Hi , excellent video well detailed and explained, could you pls how you attached your quad lock fitting pls 🙂
New wives are far more expensive that any motorcycle!! Always remember that. 👍🏻

Once the dealers had removed & cleaned it, it was transformed…
Thinking of a K1600 in the future, possibly the bagger LE.

Very good overall review.
Thanks 👍🏻
She is heavy for sure in traffic and zero speed manoeuvring but once moving she’s surprisingly nimble and very fast (enough and more) 👍🏻
That was interesting - intrigued though why you fitted the quad lock for a phone, is there something missing in the on board screen?
Nope. I have very bad experience of both the Nav 6 and TFT/connected app combo in my GS’s but it seems to work well on the K16. It’s possible I’ll never use it but I’ve had sometimes past when I just want to ‘Google map’ it from A to B. Deep down I’ll be very happy to remove the distraction but past experience tells me not to ‘count my chickens…’ 👍🏻
that not a bike but a cruise ship . a pretty one . the first maintenants , the oil is little thinner so the partikels ,
from rodating the engine sinks faster to the magnet oil bolt .

May be a similar thing of Spotify taking focus. Certainly it seems to be culprit with me 👍🏻

Great review Nick. Just sold my 1250GSA and considering the K1600GT and Bagger? Did you also ride the Bagger before purchasing your bike?
No I didn’t. Bagger style doesn’t really do much for me and I wanted the stiffer ride of the GT even over the GTL. The other thing is the Bagger and GA has the tail lights, etc in the panniers. Another thing I didn’t like. Just back from a 6,500 mile trip on her and she did that with ease over 30 days 👍🏻
Hi Nick, what quad lock mount are you using in this footage? Thanks
On my recent 6,500 mile trip to Nordkapp and home with my mate on an RT I used a litre of oil (he used none) and about 10% more in fuel although that came closer at 80+MPH motorway work 👍🏻
Thanks Nick
Oil usage doesn't sound great.
My RT is almost bombproof
Love the video, do you have to use high grade petrol?
Nope although I think it’s at the limit with Euro5 specification. They make the power the same as the old model at 1,000 less revs and added more knock sensors so think the inline 6 is now in its last run as I think regulation will stop it being improved more
Do you think these bikes are really built for Australian conditions it's usually pretty sunny and warm in the north of the country where I live
For sure. There are places too hot for anything but motorcycles are fun whatever
Very comprehensive video Nick, 1 Question which of the 2 do u prefer r1250gsa or the k1600gt

Nope. It’s the standard fitment from factory 👍🏻
How did you attach your Quad Lock Holder to the handle bars? Great little review as well. I just picked up my 2022 K1600GT yesterday.
Hi Len. Go on eBay and type in BMW R1250RT phone mount and a metal looking stub from china will come up. Buy a pair as they’re so cheap. May be a wait but they simply bolt on the end of the forged handlebars. Enjoy the K16 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK Thanks Nick. Just ordered 2. Cheers.
Thanks Homero 👍🏻
I might have missed this in your comments somewhere but why did you decide on the GT over the GTL?
I've been riding bikes for 60+ years and held road license for 52+ years, never found the need for backlit switch gear! What are you people on ?
RT is a much more fun ride. More nimble and responsive. That bike talks to you. This big K bike, just feels like riding a wide low torque 6 cyl.
The RT for sure is very underrated and falls foul of everyone thinking they need a GS when in fact they’re only using half its capabilities in the main. Certainly the case with me 👍🏻
Get a Volta magnetic 90degree connector.
The new GS won't have the 10" inch screen.
When do you think we will see it ?
Eicma ?
@@maxflight777 I reckon around then
So, this week's MCN appears to confirm the situation - same tft (though no doubt with different graphics) and a nav cradle.
How about poor low end torque from a very wide and heavy motor. It is smooth, yes. But it is not nearly as quick as you would hope. Smokes a gold wing, and sucks exhaust vs a Sup Adv S.
All that trouble to get six aside, and KTM goes and pops a 2x that runs circles around this guy. BMW - closing in on the lipstick on a pig title.
I’m sensing you don’t like it? 🤣. Always said bikes were subjective like women or we’d all marry the same one 👍🏻
Fortunately Jim I got 1st one free but I agree 👍🏻
What football team do you support
There is only one here in the south coast Harry 🔴⚪️ COYR
I’m presuming that’s Southampton. I’m hoping you stay up this season coz I like Southampton. I’m a Man United season fan holder and am obsessed with football and James Ward-Prowse is the best freekick tacker In the league by far whenever you get a freekick I just feel like it’ll be a goal
so with the windscreen in teh highest position the sat radio cuts out, when you lower the screen it goes back on, weird
🤣🤣 nearly 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK please tell.me where the charge port is in the phone compartment I can't find it
Right on the back of the charge compartment (nearest rider) at the top , facing right
@@nickhodgeUK so after one week and 1000 miles, I returned the bike to the dealer, they gave me full money back and put it for sale as a loaner. I thought I loved it but then I took my multistrada v4s out and that was it, I was like why am I bothering w this bmw? It's nice for sure but something about it didn't sit well w me, thanks for your videos and see u on the road
@@SP-xd8gs that happens for sure and the Multistrada is a lovely bike that probably feels light now? Ride safe 👍🏻
