Glad you love it. Not quite at that level but she was great over 1,000 mile last week in France 🇫🇷 with pillion. She really does handle surprisingly well and the power comes in a smooth stream but with plenty of it. Despite many 50kph French villages en route there is no need to be out of 6th…. Just wind her up 👍🏻
Thanks Stevie. It works. I only get the product (if I keep it on the bike which for sure I will with this) and they know I’ll not run a vid without being happy to add it to my bike, but that’s it, no money changes hands 👍🏻
Hi Nick, glad to see the Farkling videos back. Brilliant to hear your working with nippy’s and getting sent stuff . Bonus as I am sure you would likely have done it anyway, so great to get it for free for a change. I have bought a lot stuff for my GSA from Nippy’s over last year, although a bit pricey the equipment has all been of a top quality. After spending over 21 grand on a bmw, I am certainly not putting cheap Chinese tat on it. Hope you having a great weekend mate, see you in the next one. Cheers.
Thanks John. Yes it works 🤣. I get nothing other than the bit but it’s fine for me and the channel and fine for them as it likely cuts questions down. Whilst the Wunderlich stuff is good quality their instructions sometimes miss an important step for us English language people. For example they clearly number all the nuts, bolts and brackets then the ‘key’ to their descriptions is only in German!! Ride safe on the new GSA. Great bikes 👍🏻
I always do that with the ‘semi-safety’ of the side stand down. Although there’s a real technique. I ALWAYS do it off the bike and roll it forward trying to keep precisely upright but with a ‘be ready’ bias toward you and the side stand but you need to be aware if it’s more than a slight bias then the side stand can catch and be starting to fold but at least it’s toward you and more likely to be recoverable. Hope that makes sense?
My bike came with one of these. I removed it, the bike already stands too tall and I was afraid it will tip over and with this extra piece it made it stand even taller. The side stand should be made a bit shorter so the bike can lean more to the side and be less at risk of tipping over.
That’s interesting. Do you have a GT or GTL?? I wonder if you suspension is lower than mine. I’d say it is just about perfect with the extender on and most of all gives a larger pressure point when pulled up on less than a solid surface 👍🏻
@@nickhodgeUK It is a GT I just bought. I rode an LT for a long time. Also a GSA and an older RT. All of these bikes lean more that this GT. And they are all lighter than the GT (Except the LT). The way this bike sits, I am worried it is going to tip to the other side since it sits so upright. Have you had any issues ?
I find putting my R1250 GSA up in the center stand quite an ordeal. How would you compare the K1600 in that respect? Same, easier, or maybe I should ask my wife to do it?
Nick like you i currently have a 2020 GSA but looking at a K1600, do you have any regrets, my big concern is legroom, with the GSA being so tall leg room is hard to beat.
Hi Peter. So far my only regret although it marginal and it was an unusual 1,000 mile trip WITH pillion and that’s the weight including slow speed manoeuvring (wrong turn) and traffic but she’s slick at anything over 30mph and very comfortable and smooth. I think I’ll always miss the GS but I’m liking the K16 a lot 👍🏻
I actually disagree. With my first GS I carried a plastic ‘tray’ I was given but many times I’ve not necessarily been forced to park where I didn’t trust the surface but had the option of parking where I didn’t trust the surface, so for me it improves your options without having to carry anything. I agree there’s seldom anywhere you can’t find suitable surface 👍🏻
@@aunoates6617 I do and that’s either grass or often gravel for the bike where a car may be. We try and get at least 3 bikes to a pitch but always handy to have the enlarger for me 👍🏻
Well MTWL. You get to a few bucks. They actually are very valuable. Just piece of mind in numerous scenarios. Including loaded or mounting the bike with side stand down.
Дякую за відео, з великим задоволенням дивився Ваші допрацювання на на БМВ 1250.

Just picked mine up im already 300 miles in, I just love it what a machine and it handles amazing for a large bike

High Nick, great thorough video as ever. Nice to see Nippy Normans recognising your videos as well, good on em.

Thank you Nick, I really like the colour scheme on the new bike.
Thanks Paul 👍🏻
Have one. Love it! Piece of mind. Well done Nick.
Yep I think it’s pretty essential so at least you’re not searching for solid ground 👍🏻

hi nick . hoping to see the next time how you puch the bike off the center stand .

@@AB-hx9hs no. I guess that was my point. I’ve done over 13,000 miles since I had her and no issues
Great review thanks!! Will you also be installing crashbars for the paniers at the back (if they exist)?
Hi Kim. Thanks. Yes it should be less than a week and will be 3-pc video. Pannier crash bars, pannier protection film and the luggage rails 👍🏻

Getting it level is the key. I’d say once you have the technique they’re similar. The GSA seems to be higher on its stand but that’s just anecdotal 👍🏻
Wonder if theres several variants of sidestand with different shaped feet on the K1600 like thetre is on the GS? Dont ask me how i found that out, lol
Certainly the bagger and grand America are different as are the ones earlier than 2017

To be honest, total waste of Money. I put it on one of my bikes in the past and never bothered buying it again.

I presume that neither of you go camping then 🙂
