my straight laced corporate man father took his 2 sons 11 and 9 to a NYC matinee to see this without really knowing anything about it. he ended up grabbing our hands and fleeing from the theatre when the acid queen began to strut her stuff, seems almost laughable now compared to what even younger children are exposed to online. i think this even had an R rating at the time. a magnificent album.
I just can't believe you know I was just so sad no I want to go see this woman be on the thunder dome with her and Mel Gibson she did a nice and beautiful job any other musician who have passed on
This was the first song I thought of when I heard she passed away. Beautiful lady with a powerful voice that was perfect for this piece. So intense and full of drama.
This scene, along with Ann-Margret’s “Champagne” scene, is a sensory overload experience. The sets, actors, direction, music, and emotion are cranked past the “limit” of 10. Why I love this movie is that everything presented is full on excess, in the best way! Tina is a wild stalking creature, almost beyond human. Brava! This movie in its intense moments has no iota of chill. It’s like a full powered punch that you can’t flinch from. Human depravity in cinematic showcase. Wow!
The 'Acid Queen' wearing platform shoes and a long cloak, leading the 'deaf, dumb and blind kid' up a staircase whilst miming to camera. That can't have been an easy scene for Tina Turner.
Rest in Peace Tina Turner, absolutely the Queen of Rock-n-Roll!! In tributes on TV I have seen so far, no one mentions her in Tommy. I have a lot of respect for Tina Turner!! When I saw Tommy LONG ago, I thought she did a VERY GOOD JOB!! The way she was, the way she broke away from Ike Turner, in divorce court she told the judge all she wanted was her name. Her comeback, what I know, she had nothing except her name. She came back BIG!! I'm 67, I grew up listening to her. "Simply the BEST"!!!!
Me too. 63. My cousin and I would sneak on her mom's wigs when we were 5 and 6, playing Tina Turner in front of the mirror dancing. They left us alone to go out. And we'd play. Lucky we didn't burn the house down trying to cook😁
Simply The BEST!❤ Singer, warrior, survivor, legend, Queen👑 Vale, Anna Mae. 26/11/1939 - 24/5/2023 Tina was a force of nature, everyone loved her, and many sang with her. But can we just say a small thank you to this legend who paved the way for women in the music industry and showed incredible courage during, horrendous abuse and great adversity. Thank you Tina. May your light shine bright, forever more. Vale & RIP 💔👑
I'm ashamed to admit I forgot we lost her this year. There were so many more people I lost in 2023 who were a lot closer to me. The world will miss her more. I'll miss her now, too.
My mom took me and my sister too see this movie when it came out on 1975. I was ten yo. This scene is particular gave me nightmares. Also the uncle Ernie scene. That’s the 70s for ya!
The pictures in the background in the first minute .. the whole scene itself... How the heck did my parents let me watch this when I was 13?! 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I used to play a little game, I would crawl back inside my brain. I think you know the game I mean. I mean the game called go insane!!!! James Douglas Morrison.
Is your child ain’t all he should be now This girl will put him right I’ll show him what he could be now Just give me 1 night I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👑 Pay me before I start I’m the gypsy and I’m guaranteed To mend his aching heart 💜 Give us a room, close the door 🚪 Leave us for a while You won’t be a boy no more Young, but not a child 👶 I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👸 Pay me before I start I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed To tear your soul apart Gather your wits and hold them fast 💨 Your mind must learn to roam Just as the gypsy queen must do You’re gonna hit the road My works been done ☑️ now look at him He’s never been more alive His head it shakes, his fingers clutch Watch his body writhe I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👑 Pay me before I start I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed To break your little heart ♥️ If your child ain’t all he should be now This girl will put him right I’ll show him what he could be now Just give me 1 more night I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👸 Pay me before I start I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed To tear your soul apart

Totally agree ❤
I mean, Tina Turner is was and always will be a truly powerful force 🙌
Yep!!
It was rated PG.
😂😂😂😂😂
Difficult to imagine any other artist who could pull this song off so successfully. Tina had such an incredible range and power to her vocals
supposedly David bowie was almost casted instead
Grace Slick, but it would have been completely different.
R.I.P Tina Turner
Yes I will miss her. At least she died free from Ike.
I just can't believe you know I was just so sad no I want to go see this woman be on the thunder dome with her and Mel Gibson she did a nice and beautiful job any other musician who have passed on
This scene with the liquid flowing is absolute perfection
Symbolized the Register....and the Slam.....
This was the first song I thought of when I heard she passed away. Beautiful lady with a powerful voice that was perfect for this piece. So intense and full of drama.
Totally agree ❤😢
I remember leaving the theater after seeing Tommy, though Tina had a small part in the movie, for me she was the highlight of the film.
😅
She was not only the acid queen. She was simply the queen
Oh My God.
She really goes wild on this one.
She really is the Acid Queen.
"ADRENOCHROME"
Damn what a voice Tina was badass
This and Anne Margret rolling around in beans were the highlights of the film

The 'Acid Queen' wearing platform shoes and a long cloak, leading the 'deaf, dumb and blind kid' up a staircase whilst miming to camera. That can't have been an easy scene for Tina Turner.
She will always be the Gypsy, the Acid Queen.
RIP Tina ❤🙏

PERFECT casting from Ken Russel!
RIP Anna Mae (Tina), thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
She was a goddess, but her rictus grin as Bernie storms into the room terrified me as a kid, and it was forever burned into my brain.
Her voice here 🔥🔥🔥 Queen of rock.
Love her shoes. Guys had shoes like that too, I had a red pair of shoes. Such a fun time !!! Tina is so missed already.
Every metal singer who screams owes this song a lot
Simply The BEST!❤
Singer, warrior, survivor, legend, Queen👑
Vale, Anna Mae.

Ken Russell was a freak and a genius. He was a freaking genius.
Tina is the acid queen. I have always wondered how Grace Slick would have interpreted this song.
Tina never failed to instantly command "sit up boy," after this. Coolest of the Cool. Hearts respect, always.
😢She was my Acid Queen. RIP ❤ Tina.
Respect
Im sorry, how did we go from Elton john playing pinball to tommy being put into an Iron Maiden full of syringes?
Lord I am going to miss this woman. But Tina Turner, on this earth, you worked hard. Now is your time to sleep in peace.
Tina Turner and Oliver Reed! Always loved this song - what it must have been like to make that video!!
you mean movie
She upstaged the considerable talent in this movie with perhaps the exception of Ann-Margret who comes in a close second.
I listened to the Tommy soundtrack for months before the movie was released so I knew every song by heart when I finally saw it.
Tina Turner what a legend.
I was so lucky to see her 1985 and 87 fantastic singer bless her ❤🙏
Tina and Mavis Staples bar none the best chick American rock n roll singers of all time I'll argue it kids
In Gedanken an Tina turner🕊️🙏... Love, Talent
It's rare that you can find the exact second a film goes completely off the rails.
Every movie Ken Russell has made is completely off the rails...that man ain't quite right, but he makes some damn great movies !!!
She was an icon and will always be the queen of rock.
A RAINHA DO ROCK'N ROLL NOS DEIXOU ÓRFÃOS, MAS NOS DEIXOU MARCAS ÓTIMAS NA ALMA😢
Oliver Reed and Keith Moon looking at each other, wondering how much drink and drugs they are going to go through.
I sceen them play in White Plains NY in the early 70s. It was one great show I was outside in a car but still remembering that show.

Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones of the Faces on guitar and drums. John Entwistle of The Who on bass.
She tore this up! Love it! ❤❤❤
Behind the scenes at the RNC
By far the best part of this bizarre movie
Tommy, opera rock
I used to play a little game, I would crawl back inside my brain. I think you know the game I mean. I mean the game called go insane!!!! James Douglas Morrison.
Thumbs up for the queen!!! 🌹 👑 ❤️🙏
Is your child ain’t all he should be now
This girl will put him right
I’ll show him what he could be now
Just give me 1 night
I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👑
Pay me before I start
I’m the gypsy and I’m guaranteed
To mend his aching heart 💜
Give us a room, close the door 🚪
Leave us for a while
You won’t be a boy no more
Young, but not a child 👶
I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👸
Pay me before I start
I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed
To tear your soul apart
Gather your wits and hold them fast 💨
Your mind must learn to roam
Just as the gypsy queen must do
You’re gonna hit the road
My works been done ☑️ now look at him
He’s never been more alive
His head it shakes, his fingers clutch
Watch his body writhe
I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👑
Pay me before I start
I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed
To break your little heart ♥️
If your child ain’t all he should be now
This girl will put him right
I’ll show him what he could be now
Just give me 1 more night
I’m the gypsy, the acid queen 👸
Pay me before I start
I’m the gypsy, I’m guaranteed
To tear your soul apart
RIP Tina Turner
Qué pasada....una vela por Tina ❤
Has anybody wondered why Oliver hands Tina an used toothpaste as money? Lol 0:22
Why not the full song ? 😢
She is 🔥
What I wouldn't do to get a piece of Turner. Wow.
R.I.P Queen
RIP TINA 😥
Rip
Why on earth would you post this clip only to CUT THE END COMPLETELY?!?
This is shortened and therefore much is lost.
Dommage que vous ayez coupé les premières secondes , cinématographiquement mais surtout musicalement.
R.I.P. Tina 😪
That iron maiden contraption creeped me out the first time I saw it.
Iron Maiden?!! Alright! 🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Tina could of went further in acting she was a great actress trippy movie but hey that was the 70s😂RIP Tina Turner🙏🌹🕊️
Could of went?
Best starring for that role, Rip
THE only gypsy queen: definite TINA TURNER! Non plus ultra!
Oliver Reed makes me know something bad is going to happen.
