Led Zeppelin 1 came out the same year I dropped Acid for the first time in 1969. I'm 68 now. I was 13 then and that was the first album I ever bought. I used money from my paper route to buy it. That was my first trip to downtown Long Beach, CA by bus by myself to buy the album. So many times tripping in my bedroom listening to it. It was fifteen years later I got to meet Plant backstage at a Donovan concert at the Santa Monica Civic. He was in a wheelchair from a car accident and asked me to push him around. The rest of the band was in the audience. I was a production assistant for Fun Productions that put on the show in 1976(?) and this song was a part of that show. Kudos to the producer of this video! I've done a few like this many years ago in the early days of youtube and it isn't easy.
I had tickets to see them in Atlanta when they had to cancel because of that accident! I was heartbroken! I should have kept the tickets but I had to return them and get my $11 (!!!) back cause I was also broke! Never got another chance to see the band but saw Plant many times and Page a couple of times, playing with other acts. And saw Jason Bonham's Zeppelin tribute in '22.

Astaire was once asked who his best dance partner was and famously replied “Rita Hayworth” instead of Ginger Rogers as most might expect. Hayworth wasn’t necessarily famous for being a dancer but her parents were professionals and she grew up in a dance studio so certainly had the background and chops to earn Astaire’s praise. Great video and editing.

Greatest dance/music combo ever! Led Zep my all time favorite band (and greatest band of all time). @cindykrista I was brought up with live music but if you are talking about playing Led Zeppelin at a ballroom dancing tournament I get it, because you would not do that, but people were dancing on their seats at Led Zeppelin's concert of the century at the O2 Arena in London on the 10th of December 2007, it requires imagination and a bit of flare but if you have no ability to be able to move your feet and body rhythmically to the beat of music in any form better you remain a wall flower then Mick Jagger would also tell you that 🌻🌷🙋
this one's fred and rita - but far more often it was fred and ginger - ginger rogers was the one the quote was about. 'why is ginger rogers a way better dancer than fred astaire?'

I just new this would come together one day, thanks.
Believe it or not, "Rita" was considered by his master Fred Astaire to be one of his best dance partners ever due to her timing of each of those steps taught by Fred. He knew Rita as well as her brothers who were professional dancers for years before they were famous.
Rita's master...sounds kinky. I've heard in his old age Astaire walked around the house with his bottoms off, but he was old so it's excusable.
@@raylopez99 hell i that aint old....I do that now! Lol.
Brilliant. Also really makes you realize how precise was Astaire’s sense of rhythm 🥁 !
Finally watched the whole video unbelievable absolute perfect mix NSYNC that was❤❤❤
I had to pause around a minute, and save this. What a combination. We don't get enough Rita Hayworth, a true Goddess. They are amazing together, great job. Rock on! x
That was bad ass!!! Loved seeing them dancing to Led Zepplin, my FAVORITE band of all time!!! 😃😊
tired of seeing dancers doing Michael Jackson moonwalk all the time. This old time musicals stuff was awesome!!! , more, please!!
Jackson coppied the moon walk from some old movie from the 1920s ,
@@alemgas Michael Jackson was also good friends with Fred Astaire and created Smooth Criminal as an homage to him. My point is that MJ worked in and extended the Astaire tradition (with some James Brown thrown in for seasoning).
This is one of those UA-cam treasures that I got to see when it was still under 200k views. It's enough to influence people who have never heard of Fred Astaire or Led Zeppelin to get up and shake a leg.
" I got to see when it was still under 200k views."
🤡
It's ramping viral now. Almost double the views in 5 days.
Love Led Zeppelin!! Love the dancing!!
Love of old movies and led zeppelin
This was fun to watch. A much needed distraction. Excellent editing work. Thank you.
Just awesome! The editing was tremendous! Astaire was simply the best, and Rita was just stunning. And that Led Zeppelin group might pan out too! Lol
What simply astonishes me is how easy Astaire, Hayworth, and LZ went together with the incredible editing! Be well, safe and peace to you and yours.
That black dress though❤❤❤❤
AMAZING dancing!
Awesome!! Can't go wrong with great dancing and great music!
Can't go wrong with the classics
And who says you can't dance to Led Zeppelin? That was great!
I never heard anyone say you can't dance to Led Zeppelin...ever.
Most people can't dance to Zeppelin, you have to be good like Fred Astire
@cindykrista Please loosen up a bit Cindy 🤟👉🍻🤣🙋
@cindykrista I was brought up with live music but if you are talking about playing Led Zeppelin at a ballroom dancing tournament I get it, because you would not do that, but people were dancing on their seats at Led Zeppelin's concert of the century at the O2 Arena in London on the 10th of December 2007, it requires imagination and a bit of flare but if you have no ability to be able to move your feet and body rhythmically to the beat of music in any form better you remain a wall flower then Mick Jagger would also tell you that 🌻🌷🙋
@cindykristaBut we are now living in the year 2022 not 1942
Brilliantly done compiling this and other videoes. My most favourite site--so much so I acyually live in the moments. Fantabaulouswork. Brilliant!!
It’s the most incredible thing done. Looking at them always fascinated me and with this much more!!!!❤
This is absolutely pure genius work in choreography
excellent excellent excellent work !
Best comment I ever heard about Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire was that she did the same thing he was doing, backwards, in high heals.
this one's fred and rita - but far more often it was fred and ginger - ginger rogers was the one the quote was about.
'why is ginger rogers a way better dancer than fred astaire?'
Actually, that feminist expression was about Ginger Rogers, not Hayworth. But it's the same idea, and I love it, too. :-D
Of course, if you actually watch the movies, the person dancing backwards most often was Fred. But who cares about reality.
I think that was Ginger Rogers who was rated as his best partner. I luv Rita too.
So much talent. They both sadly died within days of each other in 1987. I remember the sad news on the tv and in all the papers.
Let’s see… Released in 1971….I am now 63. 52 Years and still listening to Zeppelin!
Watching this makes me realize how much classier and attractive the old timers are. No tattoos, bras hanging out, pierced noses. Sometimes not performing half undressed is sexier
Women didn't have penises back then either.
Now I see where Robert got his moves. Whoever did this was spot on genius. I was skeptical, at first, but it could not have worked out better. Well done
This is completely amazing. I love this.
So I was born in 1958, ... I am hooked.
Very much enjoyed. The classic and rock. Perfect combination
Wonderful - My favourite group and my favourite dancer.
Rita and Fred agree that Bonham's groove SWINGS HARD.
never seen something , like this combination: music, dancing binding it together, with humor and intelligenz, into this brillant performance of human joy of live thanks from cologne, germany, from harry (75 years young) mit liebevollen grüßen
Absolutely brilliant. I went on to watch the OGWT Trampled Underfoot and found this. Some serious editing going on here. Thank you so much. I'll be watching this over and over. Superb
This just makes me smile ! LOVE IT !!!!
Rita was always Fred's best partner. Amazing the way Led Zeppelin music works here. Wonderful to watch.
These two were always so beautiful together. And you could almost put some of their routines to just about anything. And that shows just how good they were.
Sheer genius pairing this classic film with Led Zeppelin! Respect!!!!
