Here are my tips and tricks to pilots struggling with this setup. Unable to move around with arrow keys as seen in the video? - Go to Controls, choose Keyboard and apply filter to 'ALL' in order to see all options. Map keyboard keys as following: TRANSLATE COCKPIT VIEW BACKWARD to Arrow 'Down' TRANSLATE COCKPIT VIEW FORWARD to Arrow 'Up' TRANSLATE COCKPIT VIEW LEFT to Arrow 'Left' TRANSLATE COCKPIT VIEW RIGHT to Arrow 'Right' In case you would like to create a custom view of the landing gear, you will need to "go down" from the initial cockpit's horizontal position. In order to move up and down, you can try to map these extra keys: DECREASE COCKPIT VIEW HEIGHT to 'Right CTRL + Right ALT + arrow Down' INCREASE COCKPIT VIEW HEIGHT to 'Right CTRL + Right ALT + arrow Up' If you successfully followed all the instructions from video, you ended up having a wrong angle view. The custom view you previously saved is not correct... it's showing a different spot. This is OK, you just need to do a little trick, keep reading :-) The problem is that the initial cockpit camera is imprisioned in the cockpit cage. There are certain restrictions preventing from translating too much backwards or to the sides. The hint from video enables you to save a custom view, which is outside of this cockpit prison cell. Once you get outside of restricted cockpit boundaries, you can freely move all around the plane. Just when you bring up your previously saved custom view with a wrong angle, keep pressing the arrow keys again to find your new preferred view spot. Use the arrow keys once again to finetune your new custom view and save it again by pressing CTRL + ALT + any number key from the top row of your keyboard (not numeric keypad). This will overwrite the previously saved wrong angle view with your new preferred view spot. For example, in Airbus 320NX, I've mapped CTRL + ALT + 4 to be looking from the left window to see the left wing; I've mapped CTRL + ALT + 6 to look from the right window to see the engine; I've mapped CTRL + ALT + 5 to see the landing gear (I used right ALT + arrow Down to accomplish this). If you are using the mod from Flybywire A320NX, you need to edit the cameras.cfg file from folder ..\Community\flybywire-aircraft-a320-neo\SimObjects\AirPlanes\FlyByWire_A320_NEO P.S. While finding your new spot, you can use your mouse to change the direction of moving around. A combination of mouse directional moves and arrow keys will get you anywhere around the plane. I hope this helps! :-)

I have watched this video but i cannot seem to successfully maintain camera positions. They work for a while then seem to mess up for some reason. So i can create custom positions which work for a while then somehow dot work. I have only tried this with the Airbus A32NX mod an wonder if that is the issue? Also with each A32NX update will this have an effect on the custom cameras?
I've personally not had to update this with each version, I'm afraid I cannot say that may be the issue in your case!
Is this possible to do while on the 787-10?? Im having problems :(
Edit: Just tried with the A320neo as well, having problems...
Do you know if this works with Windows 11??
Does this also work on the Cessna Citation cj4? I am having trouble setting the custom views.
I changed the confg. file and moved the cockpit camera and saved new custom cams. But once i put the confg. file back to its original and then go into Msfs 2020 and press ALT 1 i spawn somewhere in front of the plane?
Yes it works for all aircraft mate
Hey matie. How do i take a screenshot while in the cockpit?
Print Screen or use a dedicated screenshot tool. The Xbox Overlay also has a key combination which I'm afraid I don't know. 😅
hi are the custom camera saves bespoke for each aircraft? I mean if I set them for 747 say Alt5 camera
Correct, each aircraft requires a separate camera setup as camera coordinates will be different in each plane.
That’s awesome thanks. Also I notice when u fly the 747. The over head panels have red led lights appose to mine being yellow or orange? Is that a mod? I also using the salty mod?
Hey drawyah, does it work with the new a330? I saw you used it in your last stream but i have to think there is a diff. proccess.
Process is the same, works no issue!
Hey Drawyah
Thanks for the video. Do you know if you can make custom wing views on the imported models like a330 and 747-400??
Those aircraft do not have wing views so would be pointless to do I'm afraid.
@@Drawyah i tried it, the wings wont show from the "inside" so you cant do it even if you go outside of the fuselage.. :( i love wing views! even if they are not "windowed" perfectly.
Hey buddy. Loving your vids. So in the last file mine didn’t have the .cfg next to it and was an Adobe file rather than a note. I opened it with notepad and changed it from 43 to 3 exactly like you did, but then when I go back to the sim my camera is still in the same position not behind like yours. Do you have any idea what might be the issue? Not sure if it’s the file, the sim or silly me lol. Thanks
If you're running the A32NX, make the edit directly in the mod folder and not the default.
@@Drawyah thanks mate. Strange thing has happened. Deleted the 40 which took me out of the cockpit. I’ve got the 2 wing views I wanted. Saved them and then went back to the folder and added the 40 again. Back in the cockpit as expected but now my wing views I saved are pulled forward from where I saved them haha
So long you're out of the cockpit, should just be a case of re-positioning the views.
after editing the same file you've edited the camera doesnt move.. i've watched other tutorials where they modify another camera file but that doesnt work either... Any ideas ????
While doing this tutorial I have 'asobo-vcockpits-instruments-a320-neo' but not 'asobo-aircraft-a32neo'; what could I be doing wrong?
Sounds like you're in the wrong folder.
Hi thx 4 the video. Does it works on FBW A32X? I cant go out of cockpit.
Got it. With A32NX you have to edit cameras.cfg in A32NX\SimObjects\AirPlanes\Asobo_A320_NEO.
Thanks so much
So i got this to work for the TBM930, but for the A320 i dont think its working as i have the A32nx FBW mod, but the file i keep configuring is for the default A320. I went to the A32nx mod inside my community folder, but there is no "camera.cfg" file AT ALL in it ...any ideas?
there is one in there
how to do you save the view once you find your position? Do you go back to controls, under keyboard and the command value?
Ive changed it but the view has not changed? Should it be done without the Flybywire MOD? Or should I do it from the mod aircraft folder?
mod folder
I have MS Flight Simulator X and whenever I go to External View all I see is a propeller, not the entire Airplane. Please help!!! What do I do to fix?
Not sure about FSX I'm afraid, I presume this will not work.
@@Drawyah No I figured out what it was. I had the application detail set too high. Once I backed it off a few notches I could see the aircraft fuselage again. Thank you for responding however.... and have a blessed rest of your weekend.... in Jesus name!!!
When i change the value back in notepad, the camera angles ive saved are all wrong...help please!
Resetting the notepad config puts the cockpit camera in the right place but can slew your custom views. Just reposition and reset.
Is it numpad numbers to assign to or the numbers running along the top of the keyboard
Numbers on top of the keyboard.
Luv the tutorial, but why are my views reverse ? saved as left and right but in sim are reversed ??
You’re welcome 😉
Too many people asking constantly, I eventually had to throw in the towel and end your exclusivity. 😌
Thanks for the video.was exelent.😇🙏👌🇵🇷
Can you post the edit notes online so we can just copy to our folder?
There are no edit notes as you reset it back to default right after editing them.
Hello which keys do you use to move inside the plane ?
When I do the first step, it does not change my original viewpoint position
same thing with mei have you solved this situtation
I have found that if you are using A32NX mod, there is also camera.cfg file in the A32NX file and you should change the variables there since it overrides offical config file
@@yektacantursun4171 ok I'll try that tysm
Would this work with the FBW model? If it does is it the same folder You have edited in this video or do I need to edit the FWB folder ?
Edit the camera config in the FWB folder.
@@Drawyah thank you
Hi! After each update, all the settings and presets fly off to me. Is that so for everyone, or is it just me that is so lucky? Where is this settings file stored? Can I somehow save it and use it later?
Settings are stored in an encrypted file for each aircraft. It shouldn't reset per update, at least as far as I am aware.
@@Drawyah However, I have to set up cameras over and over again after every update. For the third time...
After resetting the config file to the original values, can you still move the other views around and adjust them again afterwards?
@@Drawyah This is exactly what you have to do. Set up everything from the very beginning, like the first time.
How do you switch between cams once you’ve set them up -
Using the number keys, check the bindings.
Nice idea, but have a mode to be made. Not a good idea to edit the main files. if there was a simple mod to be made then the files won't be touched
Sadly there is none. Adjusting the cameras file is also perhaps the least problematic compared to other files.
When I return the camera coded settings to normal, all my custom cameras move forward becusse of the default cockpit camera being moved forward too. Can anyone help?
Just re-do the camera positions and save them, they'll be corrected.
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I changed the number, but Im still inside cockpit :/
same here
@@andrewkinama6560 if you have the Flybywire mode, you need to remove it. Set the wingviews and then put it back.
@@MrFiideell thanks
If i open the folder microsoft fligt simulator it says it is empty?? Please help!
Check where you have installed the simulator to, your files should be somewhere!
Hi drawyah, when i use the a32nx it not working. What i need to do?
modded or stock?
