I love SteelSeries, but the plastic piece holding the actual headphone to the headband has broken all 3 time. For the prices I've paid for them, it's certainly unfortunate... I'd understand if I've dropped them or threw them against a wall, but, neither are true. They simply seem to just fall apart over time.

same here, can confirm that. Once just took off from my head after a gaming session, and it cracked. it was half year old... Glad i had my arctis 3 in spare, still using that after many-many years. Nova series with that plastic holder just ruins it all...

Hyper X are no better either. I've lost audio in the right ear on my 3rd headset already. This time after only 10 months. Never buying "gaming" headsets again.

Yeah Same here, I love the software great range of config. Very comfortable and great audio for music, gaming, and they even work pretty well for monitoring. Sucks that they fell apart after a year or two of use. Arctis prime, never mistreated them or anything; just fell apart after a while. same spot and everything; in fact the reason I am watching this is because the broke a few days ago and I need a replacement as the earcup is just kind of dangling.

for me the base station stopped working after installing the GG software.
The support was just repeating what I told them I already tried out to solve my issue.
It's a garbage company with a garbage product. As plastic for 300+ bucks is scrap.
Before I had Razer Barracuda. They are also all plastic. After not even 1.5 years the Razer Barracuda connection broke above the right speaker.

I wouldn't recommend SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. I tried them and after installing the SteelSeries GG software the base station stopped working. These problems are all about the internet. SteelSeries is complete garbage. Also their support is garbage.
After I described them what I did to solve my problem they just send me my own list.
Maybe you are lucky and all will work. But luck runs out if you want at least two years working headphones. For 300+ bucks that should be the minimum.
And the ANC of the Arctics Nova Pro are not really good. I mean I compared them with the Barracuda. They are quite good at that part.
Corsair Virtuoso...20 hours isn't that much. But the mic is an argument.

I have owned 2 Arctis 9x. they have the same swivel ear piece config. And both of them cracked in the same spot. Yeah they work great but they are fragile imo. No other headsets that I have owned have ever done that

I’m gonna save you some time.
Turtlebeach stealth pro if fps is your only focus.
Steelseries Arctis nova pro if you want a mix of FPS, music, and features that make your life easier.
Audeze Maxwell for audiophiles that want something that works well as a gaming headset too.

How would the Audeze Maxwell compare to headphones and a mic? A lot of what I'm reading says the headphones and separate mic are way better. My cheap Roccat el 7.1 just broke but honestly I thought the audio was fine with it, both mic and audio, but I have nothing to compare to.

@@kajekage9410I got the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Christmas. I’m returning it and going back to my Roccat Elo 7.1 because the Steel Series headset was disappointing to me, especially for the price. I’ll try again when Steel Series makes further progress on their ANC and transparency features, which were mediocre at best. There is also a lack of bass with the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, even after being EQ tuned properly.

@@kajekage9410 if all you want is a wide soundstage and good imaging, then an analog audiophile headphone with a good dac would be better. That’s what most of the top streamers use. Vzr model one if you want a closed back with better passive noise cancellation, audeze mm100 of all you want is good sound. If you wanna do it cheap, then get IEMs(none I could really recommend, I’m still trying to figure out what’s good in that arena myself). Those would be my choices. You can find plenty of vids on good dac amps.

Can someone tell me if I can use any 3.5mm jack on Arctis Nova Pro or does it need the proprietary 5pole to 4 pole 3.55 jack for the mic to work? Because I've bought on that came with 4 pole on both ends and no mic functionality with those. Wondering if my mic is Dead on arrival.

@@InterventionZ5 That's what I'm talking about. Almost 70% of my rig is Corsair but past year or so they have been slacking in their materials and workmanship. My case, ram, power supply, headset and keyboard (Edit: and CPU H150i cooler - knew I forgot something) particularly are corsair. I had a Corsair Glaive RGB Mouse - didn't even last a year. Had a K70 RGB keyboard - 4 keys cracked within 3 months; had to shell out more to get double shot caps - still it lasted less than 2 years. At that price you shouldn't have to mod or upgrade things. I have the K95 now so hopefully it lasts longer. I take extreme care when it comes to my rig and will not let anyone touch it at all. Corsair just hasn't been holding up like they use to.
