Going back to my old way based on your advice, and also going to try trimming the tails too. Thanks for the thorough advice man. Tight lines.
hello buddy, watching your channel from scotland and finding it very interesting and informative 👌🏼 i spin for pike in scotland with rapalas, soft lures and large mepps, last saturday my friend and myself used frogs for the first time on a scottish loch (lake) in the highlands and were amazed by the action we had, without exaggerating we both had easily over 50 hits on the frogs, we only hooked 4 each with my biggest pike at 14lb, i was fishing it very slowly on the retrieve and then leaving it static and the takes were fantastic, we hooked a lot of pike but the majority came off, so this week i will try your tips, i have already bent the hooks out slightly in the hope it helps to hold onto more, it is really exciting seeing a big wake coming to your lure from 10ft away and waiting for that hit 💥 superb way to catch pike, many thanks for the great video
Thanks Chris.. me being spot on is from years of NOT being spot on Hahahaha!!! Really hope you keep finding value in these videos. See ya on the next one.

Great 👍. Bass are no different. Bass fishing is the easiest thing in the world... the industry wants you to think you need $100,000 invested... a black 10" worm and a frog.. will catch every Bass in the lake
Fan-BASS-Tic advice! Do you ever bend the hooks up? Or work the hollow body between thumb and finger to make the plastic more pliable? Thanks! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

If you have any real grass in your lake.. like millfoil or hydrilla... MH will not pull a 5lb bass out of it. If your using plastic frogs with a single hook.. you may be able to set hook "ok" with 30lb braid.. but in the world of frog fishing.. you need more than "just enough" or "ok" hook sets.. get a 7'.. to 7'3, 7'4 Heavy rod.. 65lb sufix Advanced Superline braid.. and never doubt it.. you can pull out 10lb fish... and 4lbs of grass on their face. I wish MH would work just so we could save the money and use our worm rods... it just won't do what you need it to.

I have missed 1 bass all year by waiting 3 to 5 seconds, before putting the hammer down. Regardless of how im working it. And if they have a hard time hitting a moving target, then how do all the bass get caught on chatterbaits, buzzbaits, swimjigs, etc.... they know what they are doing, if you miss a bass. I just got a new setup for Christmas! Googan Squad Muscle Rod (7’5 Heavy Power and Extra Fast Action) Sougayilang Green Baitcaster Reel (8:0.1 Gear Ratio) Suffix 832 Advanced Superline (50lb test because I don’t think my reel can hold 65lb Braid) With a Booyah Poppin’ Pad Crasher (In Bullfrog Color) I tried so hard to catch a bass on a frog, but I keep missing the fish every strike. I cast the frog out and let it sit for at least 10 seconds. Then I make a little bit of twitches, and pause for a few seconds. Should I wait to set the hook, or set it immediately? Sorry If it’s too long of a comment, but thanks for your tips.
Never too long of a comment buddy. Thanks for reaching out. Congrats on the new set up. It sounds perfect. Only thing is if your fishing around thick grass mats I would change to 65lb. Your reel will hold it fine. Just don't put too much on it. You only need 100yrds or so. Think about it, are you going to cast longer than a football field? Nope! Save that unspooled line and keep it out of the sun. That's braids kryptonite. Frog fishing will be nerve racking... your going to miss fish. Sometimes it's your fault.. sometimes the bass dont grab the frog completely. You'll get your timing down. It's kinda in between, don't jerk as soon as you see the splash but dont set there and wait for your line to pull like when your worm fishing or jig fishing. I'd say it's closer to instant than it is to waiting. Maybe half a second after you see that frog gone set that hook. Not a baby set either. Rip its face off. Your trying to pull 2 hooks into the lip of the fish. You got the setup right.. now rip it. Only thing going break is your feelings. Great Video!! Do you ever boil your frogs and if so how long should I boil them ?? I'm heading out now and going to try your method , I've spent all summer learning how to walk the frog without much luck and now I know why . Thanks man ..
I've heard of guys doing it... I never have.. here's my thinking... all your doing is making the rubber brittle. It will become softer but with 1 good 5lber your little frog going be ripped in half. If you feel your frog needs to be softer you shouldn't be buying that brand. Go buy you a Booyah poppin' pad crasher. I promise you... there is no softer frog on the market. The hooks are good and they last forever. Oh yea.. and there 1/2 price of that junk your wanting to boil to your liking. Thanks for watching and giving feedback. Look forward to talking with you more
