      The secret to all these youtube bass fishers who catch like 800 bass in a day is that they fish stocked lakes and ponds that only have private access. I don't even see the fun in that. I'd rather spend all day to catch one quality walleye or trout in a public lake or river.

      The cost of a lure has little to nothing to do with its ability to attract a strike. When I was probably 8 years my brother and I went through a lot of lures. Combine that with the ability for young fishermen to lose lures at an incredible rate. My father refused to buy more lures and insisted my brother and I earn money cleaning neighborhood cars, mowing lawns etc. But we learned from magazines and TV about ways to make our lures. So we resorted to making lures from tea spoons and other items we found at the local dump. You’d be surprised how many fish we caught from junk not to mention the pride of doing it on your own. Even NDyakangler went out with a painted cork, sent in by a fan and caught plenty of smallies with it. 90% of all fish caught are the results of desperately hungry fish, not a lures price tag.

      Time and repetition. Like a golfer that knows the difference between swinging a 1 iron or 3 iron at 180 yards (I have no idea if those clubs/distances are really a thing, so chill!) Or a quarterback throwing 15 or 25 yards. Set up a few targets in an open grassy field and throw a 1/2 lb sinker at them.

    • @danielmcewen4219
      @danielmcewen4219 Рік тому

      Not just the accuracy but the distance too! I am constantly amazed by how far his casts carry the lure. But what really blows me away is his dexterity in getting those lures out of the fish. When I think of how many hooks I've man-handled out of fish over the years at great injury to the fish and/or my fingers he seems an absolute magician. - Dan

      This one was a winner in my book! I've had a couple people comment they leak water but mine seemed to keep it out as good or better than the live target frog. Who knows, maybe it was their first time frog fishing and they didn't realize you have to occasionally squeeze them out lol. For 1.94 I'd assume quality control might not be the greatest though so maybe I just got lucky and got a good one but I was really impressed with it! I grabbed a couple of the yellow ones too so maybe I'll have to give one of them a try if the bass are still hitting frogs and see if the performance is consistent.

      @@ndyakangler I suggest, that you test your knots for strenght. The one you tied here, but with only 4 turns, I have experienced 100% line strength with with a certain line. That is NOT good, because you risk the line breaking far from the lure, if you get a bottom hook, or if you hook a huge fish, and it might swim around with a long piece of line hanging, that even could snag something, and it would die from it - if things went really unlucky. I used to do all kinds of tests, to not leave anything to luck or guessing, and that made the rest of my fishing more relaxed. Best way to test knots, if identical hooks in both ends, and pull till one of them breaks. Also test different hooks - wire diameter also means something. To measure breaking strength, I used a bucket and filled with water, till the break, and then weighed the bucket. I don't have the energy to do videos, so feel free to use my input, if you like.

    Dude, you’ve got a sick fishery and definitely a way with fish. I’m sure you could catch fish throwing just a hook.
    Heck, I bet you could catch fish throwing plain line out.

    Nice package, pretty colors, it'll catch fishermen for sure. I've used just a plain cork and bounced it around the lily pads and caught plenty of northerns.

    Ozark baits are great. Thier lipless is phenomenal, and the swimsuits are great. Poppers, frogs- all really good quality for great prices.
    Great vids!

      I wish they had a little more of a selection at my local store, it’s pretty much just jerkbaits and frogs. I’ll have to check out their website and find a few things they don’t stock here.

    Great channel, love the content... My name is Mike from Michigan, I am a avid fisherman, one of my favorite lures is the hot n tot by storm. I have had some great fishing with that particular one. You should do an episode with hot n tot. Just an idea. Lol.... Have a great new year. Look forward to some more videos.

    Perhaps you should give making your own lures a go.
    I'd try concocting something made with clingfilm and aluminium foil. Smallies appear willing to eat anything that appears to have a pulse.

    I love these cheap lil frogs they work just as good as the top brands. They are great for customizing them with small Colorado blades for feet or cut a buzztoads legs off and glue them to the back off the frog for being able to pause a buzztoad in the strike zone without sinking. Just be careful if you bend out the hooks cause they will snap off.
