Inscryption has an Amazing first act, a fun second act, and a lore filled third act. Adding an infinitely scrolling first act that let's you play every Inscriber would make an amazing game, while the second and third acts drop a bit of the gameplay and instead go for the very enjoyable lore. However to find all the lore you need to get very meta with it and find an absolute fuck ton of secrets.
Act 2 and 3 are nothing compared to the mystery of act 1, still fun tho

Agreed. Beat it recently and a friend is playing thru now. Shame he didn't take to the later acts but, they all play their own roles. Also Act 1's gameplay still holds up in later acts to an extent. The 2nd act didn't grip me right away but in time it did. Thx for the reminder btw I still have some things I haven't seen yet. Superb game imo. :)
I like it when games reveal the lore to the player, but not all the time. If Inscryption just had its first act, I'd nominate it for GOTY. It would add a ton of replayability. Second and third are on the meh side, but the first act is hands down[can I get up now] the most fun I've ever had in a card game.
Hey if your still interested, Kaycee’s mod is out. An infinite act 1 with bonus cards and challenges. You can even unlock different starting decks to play with. Personal favourite is Ants.

Just wanna say, Inscryption's dev said that an endless mode is on the table in a recent devolver podcast. That being said I disagree that Acts 2 & 3 are that much worse than Act 1 but I understand that it can be a variable experience seeing as Act 2 is more RNG based than its counterparts.

Yeah, Act 3 is awesome too, but you have to get through Act 2.
I just feel conflicted and bit disappointed when i saw there are 2 more acts of the game. I just think there are the trend of breaking 4th wall games from the same dev.
I played their other games (Pony Island and Hex) . The demo hooked me up about the idea they giving. My friend, who were in hype up about the demo also, refunded the game when he saw they scrapped that demo idea out just for the same 4th wall breaking inserting in
Honestly I think it'd be better if they kept the roguelike aspect of act 1 but rotated to another scribe's 3D game whenever you completed a run. Grimora and Leshy are pretty much good to go and P03 you just need to change the map style. Only one they'd have to build up would be Magnificus.

J's devil voice during the card game is amazing, especially when he's pretending to be the devil pretending to be a character in the game
