This game is such a good take on the “child friendly horror” genre. The funny little puppet people aren’t horrifying monsters, they’re just struggling to process their sadness and fear, and lashing out at people as a result.
It's not so much as lashing out as it is being overexcited about seeing a new face after years of isolation.
Apart from the fact that they say some pretty fucked up stuff if you just hide nearby and listen to them rambling to themselves
@@filmandfirearms That's mainly because they started watching TV unsupervised after the shutdown and it warped their minds. They're like little kids, the wrong influence can do some massive damage.

There is something beautiful about a veteran broken by war helping these puppets process their emotions.
While Arlo was a good fit for Ricky, I still am curious how J would have played that character.

The running theory is that the neighbors aren't actually dangerous, Gordon just has a bad back, and can't handle getting shoved accidentally by their over enthusiastic hugs from years of missed socializing
