After owning a frontline abd a nest hammock for almost a year, I just bought this one for a little more room in the summer months for more breathability. Great design on these hammocks....too old and worn to ground dwell nowadays, so that extra comfort is much needed. Great video buddy. Best wishes from Kent, England

Greetings from Galicia (Spain). What a quiet and lovely place you have to camp in Norway!! Sometimes the peace of the wilderness makes the cold warmer. What I like the most of that hammock is the mosquito set up, it seems to me very spacious and where I live the bugs are very annoying when the winter ends. I love your videos, you really show the spirit of the nature, keep it up!!!

Agree with you 100% Martin. People against hunting these days have forgotten where we have come from. There is no natural food on Earth that a Human can eat that does not require the taking of life in one form or another. Glad to see a fellow hunter on the other side of the world enjoying nature and respecting it.

This hammock seems amazing! It is rare to find a hammock that is truly 4 seasons. You'll still need to have an underquilt, but that's almost too easy to make. And the double layer construction is great to stuff debris (leaves) for insulation. It packs down small and light. I just love it. I went to the DD site and liked much of what I saw. McQ bushcraft talks about the 3X3 tarp too. I think that would be a good camping combo. I would love to have the hammock if choosen. 😁

You have a gift for communicating an honest review plus your opinions about equipment. We all miss you when you are busy doing other things! In part, because you give a fine videographic picture of the Norwegian Woods, with really sharp photography and imagination, we would always welcome a new video. I replay your overnight or longer ones just to get the feeling of being in your company. You have that gift to reach out to people and to engage them. I have to feel that this is YOUR channel and you know best how to plan, pack, videograph and explain woods craft. As a strong, active person, you SHOULD take as much as you want to carry to 'smooth it' as one of the greatest of America's early bushcrafters put it. After all, you are CAMPING; not trekking to cover the kilometers.

I like the versatility of this system. I like the bug net arrangement and that I can slide a sleeping pad in between the layers for colder weather. I would use this for backpacking trips.

Hi I am really enjoying your videos. It is refreshing to see you use proper sized tools for various tasks. The reason people don't understand your backpack is because they have never met a full sized Norwegian.I was fortunate enough to work with such a man a long time ago his size and strength redefined what was possible. He had been in the Norwegian Airforce in the late 1960ies.So much of what he learnt as basic training is now major youtube content.
    Keep up the good work.

Another great video, Sir! My reason or desire for this hammock; I'm a regular canoe tripper from Ontario, Canada, and my main trip partner is my dog. We do solo trips and group trips together throughout the summer months, and the issue I always have, "too much gear". Really it relates to my own over packing, but having a small dog along, who isn't able to viably carry his own gear and food, this does not help my over packing. Long story short, for awhile I've been thinking about switching from tent sleep system to a hammock, to save on space. Even just getting a smaller tent would help, yet I've been researching decent hammocks, and your review of this one really sold me on its features. Anyway, enough begging for gear, I wanted to mention your rifle; a beautiful piece, even the rounds and shells looked good, excellent choice. With love from Canada

Well the reason I would like to have it is because I have a grand son that is border line Autistic. When he gets upset he often leaves his moms house and goes in to the woods to be alone. So I thought this would give him something to enjoy and get more involved in the outdoors. He is 18 but this would provide him something to sit in or lay in and enjoy. Love your videos and the country side. Thanks!

I made my own hammock a couple years back but never had a bug net, which was a problem more than once when you camp in a rainforest, so that's why I'd love to have one like this with the built-in mesh I could use (or not) depending on the situation. I'm about the same size as you (more or less) so it's good to know it can handle someone like us. Keep up the great videos, of course!

Great video! So glad to see another video from you. I don't currently have a hammock but I have been looking for the right one. I love the bug net feature how it holds it up over your head and has the ability to add an under quilt for winder camping. Brilliant! I'd love to have it and try it. I live in Oklahoma USA and it certainly doesn't get that cold here but winter is the best time to camp (especially according to my husband) with cooler weather and no bugs. With this I can join him more often! Again than you. I have family in Sweden and love the areas you show.

I use a tent (Colman pop up)...don't laugh, I LOVE my tent...this hammock reminds me of it...small but with a cathedral ceiling...lol. It appears to be a nice hammock maybe an extra 12 inches and it would be perfect. You did a good job of showcasing it👍...p.s...love the way you kept feet on top of boots when getting out of tent as not to get your socks dirty/wet 😁...thanks for the video!

So basically this tarp as a whole is a suspended bivibag...when there are no suitable trees around, just put it on the ground and stake out the topends, insert the poles, add the insulation in the bottom and.... tadaa...instant bivibag / tent. Nice alternative to a hooped bivi that I was looking around for, and versitile. Hoping for weather like that down here :-) And I too do take more stuff with me than I need, as I too keep trying out stuff, combinations, what works - what doesn't... . Great video...as usuall, keep 'em coming.

    Why I need a hammock:
I'm starting to do exploring and wild camping in the National Park here in Portugal. Currently have a tent but am going more minimal.
During the summer there are a lot of mosquitoes and ticks so hammock sleeping with bug net is ideal.
    Thanks for your videos.

Fantastic video as always. I'd love this particular set-up, but I have two reasons why it seems perfect for me. I live in Scotland and love camping out in the few remnants of our natural ancient pine forests (particularly Glen Affric). Unfortunately, the midges here in the summer are awful and none of the hammocks I've looked at in the past seemed capable of dealing with that issue as well as affording space and a comfortable night's sleep. In the end I've always resorted to using a tent, which has meant that I don't really experience the full depth of camping in a forest. Instead, in a tent I always feel closed-off from nature. The hoops on this hammock look as though they offer a far less claustrophobic environment if the insects are biting (especially not having the mesh flapping in your face). All of those pockets, to save you having to get out to your rucksack in the middle of the night, and the ability to insert a sleeping mat underneath make it a very viable alternative to a tent both in insect season and in the winter. My second reason is, my family and I are hopefully taking a camping/canoe holiday in Norway or Finland next year and I'd love to test it out in its ideal environment - mile upon mile of pristine forest (and if my son is especially good, he can have the first try!) Cheers - love your channel and your laid-back approach.

Hi Martin, great video as always! My wife and I take our kids (both toddlers) out camping at every opportunity during the year. I feel the more my kids can learn about nature, the better off they will be, and the more they can teach others. We've always taken the traditional tent, but never a hammock. It's not much of a good reason for sure, and no doubt there's more deserving people, but I think it would be a great experience for the little ones to spend a many nights in a hammock! Especially one with a story like this one.
Thanks again for all your work, and all the best!

I think we all need to agree that Martins Sweater is amazing. I want it! The reason i want this hammock is pretty random. I would want to trow up silver string lights on the ridge line, do a overnighter in the mountains, and imagine i am in Carl Sagans "spaceship of the imagination". Looks like the perfect vessel for my admiration of the cosmos. I love that it is like a cocoon, and i really want it!

Martin love your videos, the woods look fantastic in this one. I even bought a Kuksa! recently and I love to cook steak on my solo stove. I am a ground sleeper on the fells and by the tarns of the Lake District in England but after watching you and Shug in the woods I have tent camped in the forest. I would love a chance to hammock camp in the woods here. A hammock would help as flat spots in the small areas of woodland we have here are hard to find. Count me in for the competition. Congratulations on getting to 10K subscribers , you have a great channel so its well deserved . As for the Hammock giveaway , it is a very kind jesture , you ask why I would want it , well having always camped on the ground with a tent or tarp/bivi setup , I would love to give a hammock a go as I am not getting any younger , though I live in England the insects are not to much of a problem most of the year , but I do go to Scotland and there they can be almost frightening . Plus I have plans to travel abroad to your part of the world and think this would be the ideal setup . Once again a great video .

You do a very fine job of presenting equipment. PLUS your videos are full of valuable information. On hunting: I was raised as a farm boy and we raised food for our table as well as commodities to sell. I was fed by the adult chickens that I had slept beside when they were little chicks: I taught them to drink and to eat; I kept them safe from cannibalism; I kept them warm but not too warm by constantly monitoring air temperature. And, in the end, I harvested them, plucked them and prepared them for our family table. Were it not for our farming practices, I would not be here today.

Congrats on the ten thousand subs! Really nice hammock there and I could put it to good use here in S Florida USA. That bug screen is vital for the mosquitoes since you can just about throw a saddle on them and ride away! I really need the double liner type so I can put a sleeping pad in and not have to use an underquilt, just one more thing to lighten the back pack a bit. So I'd love to have it and really like the idea that you tried it out near a campfire so it will already have my favorite aroma! LOL

Gratulerer så mykje med ti tusen abonnentar! Du held fram med å imponere eit veksande publikum, og kvaliteten er svært høg!
I would like this hammock because hammocks in general is a new sleeping system for me, and your honest presentation of this model was both inspirational and a motivator for me to make my intended plans for a new sleeping system into a reality. Thank you for all the effort and passion you put into making these videos. Takk og lukke til vidare!

Excellent video my friend as always. I've never used a hammock, I would love that frontline I've had several heart attacks recently and three stents, so when I put up a tent I overheat easily (sweat) I really need something like that to encourage me to star making survival videos myself. Get me out there so to speak and look to the nicer things in life which ive not done reasontly. all the best

Many congratulations on 10k subs! love the channel, very relaxing to watch. Great review on the hammock, most thorough I have seen. I would love to have this hammock. Just gotten back in to camping and being older with a few back problems, hammock sleeping is about the only way I can go out for overnighters. I need something reliable to use and this hammock looks like it will fit the bill for summer and winter camping. Thanks for the giveaway!

Congratulations on the 10k, awesome achievement! My beautiful one year old boy is a blessing, but he is also keeping me on the floor, expensive little bugger! So a free tarp would be very welcome lol. Love your channel, keep doing what you’re doing. Much love and respect from Derbyshire, England

Martin, congrats on 10k subscribers....and keep doing the videos your way because they're great & very much enjoyed. Another DD hammock, the Frontline XL, so my partner can have one too would be great for our camping & hunting. Hope you enjoy your new rifle....love the over under barrel design for sure. Best wishes & hope to see Norway for myself someday. Thanks.

Love the video! Never tried hammock camping but I'd love to give it a go. Oh and if I'm ever lucky enough to bump into you one day I'll buy you a beer! Keep them coming! 😊

Thank you for sharing, I would love to have the hammock, it looks so comfortable. I especially like the double layers. Your tarp set up looks perfect for time being with the forest. As a knitter and longtime admirer of Norwegian knitting, I am also loving your sweater. It looks like the shoulders and cuffs are reinforced with fabric or suede. Keep up the good work!

You are creating very high quality videos my friend. Well, I've given away 2 hammocks to friends as they just didn't work out. The options for bug net AND to insulate it from the bottom is perfect. Would love it. The perfect hammock? Very likely. Thanks

Another good ol' Norwegian video! Thanks Martin. Congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers!
I have to tell you that I already have a hammock just like that one and I agree with all your comments. If you want to exclude me from the draw that's fine. On the other hand if you decide to keep me in, and my name comes out, I have a good friend who would love a Frontline hammock so I would donate it to him.
    Best wishes,
    Noel
