    Just wanted to say, I have the same DD XL hammock, DD under quilt, and use with a DD 3.5 X 3.5m tarp.
    1) This tarp works perfectly in the rain with the XL. 2) I don't have a problem with the balance of the XL hammock. It stays upright whether I'm in it or not. I noticed that your bug net stays were not equally spaced in the sleeves. One side had a large 'gap'. The unbalanced weight of the bug net might be overbalancing the hammock to one side or another??? Just a guess. 3) I agree. The under quilt is clearly not designed for the XL. It's fiddly as all get-out to attach, and doesn't cover the entire length of the hammock. It does keep my butt warm, but.... : )

      Hey thanks for watching, ive come to figure that dd use the underblanket with this hammock, full unsinched at the ends, that does make a little more sense, for fitment but id be wary in very cold weather doing that, the slightest movements i reckon drafts would be let in, overall i think its a good setup

    if this is more like a double hammock maybe if you can find a wider underquilt that is meant for use with a double hammock, may have to go outside of the DD line but other companies make wider underquilts for the double hammocks

      Kaylynn Strain it's only marketed as a single but will be getting a bigger under blanket

      i heard you can get condensation issues with the travel hammock, have you experienced this?

    Great review, Kev.. The hoops for the bug net look a lot better than playing with strings and sticks. Thank you for the video

    When I 1st saw you using this hammock I liked it, I love the half loop net spreader bars, u can use it on the ground as a mozi net under a tard easily with loads of room inside, I had considered the the bivi hammock but now I'm thinking of getting 1 of these instead. Great review dude

    Thanks for the awesome review! I love my DD 3x3 tarp and was considering getting one of their hammocks even though I own a Dutchware Chameleon, which I love! I just like trying different gear but these DD hammocks aren't as common in the States so I appreciate the honest review and feedback.

      unless you are really tall i think the normal frontline is a easy hammock to live with! i did see some dd hammocks on ebay usa, if that helps

    It could be that to balance the Hammock you would need another set of poles and run them underneath - in a semi circle like the top.. then the weight would equalise and balance the hammock... its the weight of the poles that flips it.... maybees aye ??

    Great review Kev. I love mine but I use it all year round, no under blanket in winter either, totally fine for me. I do take other measures to compensate for not have an underblanket, never woke up with a cold back yet. Thanks for sharing. Atb Shaun

      what do you use mate, out of interest?

    • @BASHADweller
      @BASHADweller 6 років тому +1

      The same, DD frontline XL. like I say though I don't use an under blanket, just an inflatable mat and foam roll mat and sometimes a blanket if it's really cold. Atb Shaun

    • @LifeofKev
      @LifeofKev  6 років тому

      dont you get condensation that way? every time ive used a similar combo ive got soaked

    • @BASHADweller
      @BASHADweller 6 років тому +1

      No mate, never experienced that. Never even got damp, don't know what the crack is there. I am not as frequent a user of hammocks as you are though so maybe I have just been lucky until now. I'm out in it on Tuesday, I'll let you know what happens. Atb Shaun

    It's not balanced because its windy. You can here In he audio. The wind pushed the mesh netting.
