My Used Range Rover L322 is Broken Again - Time to Sell?

- Опубліковано 18 жов 2024
- Once again, my used L322 Range Rover from 2011 is broken. This time around, my L322 Range Rover had to be towed to the mechanic because of air suspension failure from both the air compressor and front air struts - resulting in another $4,000 repair for the 2011 L322 Range Rover. With that begs the question, is it time to sell my L322?

About this video: I’ve owned my used 2011 Range Rover L322 for a few years now, and throughout that time, I have been grateful for having the chance to own and drive my absolute dream car. However, over the last few years, we’ve been buying more and more cars, and I haven’t really driven my L322 Range Rover much. Add to that, I have also noticed that over time, my enjoyment from the L322 Range Rover has gone down after getting to drive other amazing cars.
However, that’s never stopped me from wanting to keep it. Through thick and thin, I’ve done just about every replacement that’s come up as necessary over the years. From coolant issues to air suspension issues to other common Land Rover engine issues, I’ve done just about everything except the timing chain guides and transmission. However, this time around, things are a bit different. I have been in a position for the last few weeks where I have been considering selling my L322 Range Rover because I never really drive it any more.
On top of not driving, I’ve spent $8000 in just the last six months alone fixing different common issues. Owning an L322 for a long period of time is consuming of everything mentally and financially, and as much as I love my L322, the story I have with it, and would hate to give up the memories I’ve made with it, I just don’t know that I can keep holding onto an again, depreciating, out-dated SUV when there are so many other good cars on the market.
The problem is - the car market as a whole has been all over the place the last few months, and I haven’t been able to find anything in the budget to replace the L322 Range Rover. Frankly, I feel stuck. I think its time to sell it, but I just don’t know what a worthy replacement to such an icon would be. So until that, I suppose the used Range Rover L322 remains in the driveway.
On the topic of server, this time around, the L322 needed new front air struts on both the driver and passenger side. On top of that, it needed a new air compressor to go along with the new suspension struts. Add to that, we also did a brake fluid flush as well as the hood struts for the L322 Range Rover. All of this came to a total of almost $3,900... Again.
This is right after doing another major service just six months ago that cost me an addition $6,000 in unexpected repairs for the axel boot and coolant lines. Its just starting to become a headache lately.
So what do you think? Is it time to sell my used Range Rover L322? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you for watching this video on another repair of my broken L322 Range Rover from 2011. If you have any questions about the used L322 Range Rover, let me know. I’m happy to help!

Seems like just another overly dramatised l322 video which does nothing but fuel the opinions of the internet non owners. Cars break
A buddy of mine from high school came from a well off family...They always had new Range's, the father was an engineer so of course he loved his Volvo's and Saab's. But I remember something he once said to me after I asked him how he liked his new Range Rover sport....He said if you buy one, buy a second one so you have one to drive when the other is in the shop.
Airbags should be an service item and anybody who waits till they fail are fools, as soon as mine shown to be on their way out I changed them for OEM parts and not cheap eBay items.
Your going to have to learn to work on your cars the same as I do and a lot of other guys. I've saved literally thousands and thousands of pounds in labour costs over the last 25 years. To answer your question.....keep it m8.
Bingo
Any vehicle that doesn't get enough daily use will fail...especially a range rover!
This video was pretty dramatic over a blown strut. In my personal experience rovers don’t really like to sit for extended periods and air struts do have a tendency to fail in cold weather. You really can’t economically own a rover without working on them yourself.
Totally agree mate. Found this to be very infactual and dramatic about....well.....absolutely nothing.
I was gonna say. This guy must not turn a wrench to save his life. A new shock is $300.
Its a freaking suspension issue, pay for it already if you want to drive the top of the range of an icon of a car, if not then don't even go there, Range Rover is one of those cars that are an event to drive and be seen in, personally I am looking to buy a normal TDV8 from around 2008.
Wouldn’t you need to go in pretty deep with tools and equipment in order to maintain and repair yourself? They’re big, heavy, complex, probably need specialist equipment. It’s not like wrenching on a defender or something. Curious to know.
I drive mine daily miles and miles , I vow to learn how to any thing and I will . I am in love with “ big boy “ and I wouldn’t part with him for the world . I was a Volvo girl for years then I met him it was love at first sight. Being a Volvo girl I’m also parts girl and mechanics girl . So it doesn’t bother me .
My vogue is life !!
I can so relate with this video. My L322 felt like a stubborn but highly intuitive child.
What happened with this channel??
MY QUESTION TOO
I'd vote to keep it. With so much sunk in it both financially and emotionally, just keep it. And drive it a little more. I have a '10 Range Rover HSE and I love it for many of the same reasons as you. It is not my daily but i do it drive a few times a month and on adventure trips as the 4WD system is fantastic. You knew it would breakdown. Perhaps you should do the timing chain as preventative maintenance. I haven't done mine with 67k miles.
I have the supercharged 2010 and the head gasket was blown 3 months ago, now the suspension failed and pistons need to be replaced but still I'll keep it.
I literally went to pick my 2010 supercharged from the dealership and got in to leave and boom my front suspension was shot. Didn't even leave the lot
@@danielw208able 😂😂😂
I really want a Range Rover sport that is definitely my dream car.
Air bags went and you spend the whole video moaning you don’t use the car. That’s a wear and tear issue. Use it or sell it. Who cares.
Last video ever posted? Eek…you good bro?
Far cry from the first videos about owning a RR! You pay to play! Best of luck with whatever you do!
Get the l405. You’ll love it
How many miles do you have on your L322
You need to sit down with a financial adviser
I hear “bankruptcy” and then “I own 5 cars”??? Sell at least one of the Land Rovers and 2 others. At 22 you should be saving and investing.
@@tstayin at 22 with five cars and the ability to pay for a car like this, no wonder the dude went bankrupt.
You have to realize that not driving it causes more problems than driving it
Driving it 36 miles in 6 months definitely isn't good for it low battery voltage can cause warning lights and all sorts of things to ping up, there a complex car but if your not gonna drive it properly id sell it.
I wouldn't sell it either, I had one and sold it, I was thinking of getting another one but everything I see is just overpriced
I actively want to buy this car and you know what, ill buy it
Not driving a car is not good for it either. You're more likely to run into problems with it just sitting vs being used
Its not that hard to replace i just replace all 4 bags on my lr3 and upper & lower control arms. When you repair things yourself you save money
Repair it, in bad weather you’ll appreciate that the L322 can go places other cars can’t.
Mate, don't sell it!!! You've already invested so much into it. I had one and I regret selling it. Ok I had the extended warranty, but the inconvenience of having her in for repair cannot be underestimated. My God they are annoying but they are also so utterly fantastic. You're already emotionally attached to it and that's the point - emotion.
Don’t sell. If you’re this torn up about even thinking of selling it then you’ll completely regret it.
Now is a good time to sell with used vehicle prices up 35%, but, I wouldn't sell it, I love the L322s.
Ever considered the coil conversion? Whilst mine is currently working I would seriously consider doing that to keep one of the most awesome vehicles ever.
I would like to solve the suspension problem once and for all... What is the best solution for spring suspension conversion?
You have other cars, so I’d keep it because of the emotional attachment, it is an amazing car after all.
Suck it up ....... the servicing and repairs cannot possibly be more than buying a $100,000 new one
I'm an Englishman who has been driving Land Rovers products for over twenty years and can honestly say there is no place more comfortable to be.... ....whilst waiting for a tow truck!"
The Toyota Sequoia 2022/2023 is a good-looking truck. There's also the Volkswagen Atlass. Try those for a week and let viewers know what you think.
There lies the answer .. 36miles in 6mths! you've got to keep driving them!
I would say to just sell it. I did that then got another, when I’m into again. I had a disco 2, RRS supercharged, then when through 2 Jeep’s and now I’m at a disco 1 again. But it also helps that’s I can work on my own cars tho. Plus you already have a rover.
I have been doing some research on Range Rover. It has been a dream SUV of mine for years. But the reliability of them scares me. But with that said. I havebeen doing the research. Because I am thinking about buying a 2008 Range Rover supercharged for my soon to be driving son. It would never be a road trip vehicle. More local around town thing. But would you recommend a Range Rover for a first car? Oh I use to live in Knoxville. My husband graduated from UT. We live in Murfreesboro now. Close to Nashville.
A Rover - gas guzzling, large, hard to park, expensive to repair, and breaks quite often - sounds like a terrible first car. Perhaps your post was sarcastic and I missed that.
@@bryangonzalvo supercharged too, for a kid? Madness.
WHERE ARE YOU. THIS IS 2 YEARS AGO,,
That's the best car ever I never want to sell
lovely reliable car welcome to land rover ownership
Put manual shocks from British Atlantic if the engine is stiil good
I miss your videos!
I like your videos but you guys seem to come and go. Did you sell the l322?
Sell it. The bills only get bigger and you get deeper into the hole...
I feel your pain DREAM CAR to A NIGHTMARE for the BANK ACCOUNT. (Literally) when you gotta take a loan out to repair your vehicle. It's time to sell trade rid myself of the L322
Keep it !
Man I moan about my old Defender - nothing like the prices you pay for maintenance. You can only go so far - -get shot of it!
I’ve seen all of your videos about this car. And if you are going to sell, please send me a message and we’ll talk options.
Or if you decide to keep the car continue making videos with it.
keep it
You can’t fix it yourself???
Bin it and buy a land cruiser or a G wagon
G wagon would be even worse. Love em tho 😁
Drive it more or sell it is my view.
Jesus its an airbag. Wearable part.
poor rich kid tears, boo hoo.
I think your awesome!
Hey one comment I'm watching your Rolls-Royce Ghost video and after 9 minutes I've had to watch 6 commercials are you trying to pay for the car with this video because it's badly annoying. You not telling me how to make $1000000
