- Tribute to Metal Gear character Raiden. Raiden (雷電), real name Jack, also known as Jack the Ripper, White Devil, and Snake, was a Liberian-American mercenary and former special forces soldier. Previously a child soldier under Solidus Snake, Raiden was later selected by the Patriots to test the S3 Plan at the Big Shell, as a new recruit to the reformed FOXHOUND unit. He later worked alongside the Paradise Lost Army in their anti-Patriot activities, but was captured and forced to undergo heavy cybernetic experimentation. After successfully escaping, Raiden went on to assist Solid Snake during the Guns of the Patriots Incident. After that incident has ended, he had a normal life until he returned to military to support his family. So he continued to save people in need during the World Marshal Incident. Afterwards, Raiden decided to fight his own war.

To be honest, a shame that the entire MGS community is so fixed with Sam, Sundowner and Armstrong, Raiden is such an interesting character that arguably, could be the perfect sequel to Phantom Pain

One of the most extraordinary characters in the MG universe. He really deserved a game for his own as the protagonist. And metal gear rising is great

The interesting thing about Raiden is that he spends basically 3 games from having no real sense of self to accepting himself in his entirety
From a killer of the past(mgs2 unknown soldier of Solidus)...to a FOXHOUND agent(the Raiden of mgs2)...to an artificial combat(mgs4)....and to a state-of-the-art cyborg (MG Re⚡ Vengeance)

Fantastic game. MGR is a game I would replay over and over again.
Thanks to Solid Old Snake gave inspiration gave Raiden Jack the reason to live.
I don't get it, why do people hate Raiden? He's cool and you play as Snake from the first 3 games
I think when MGS2 dropped (the first appearance of Raiden) People were expecting to play as snake but were greeted with a blond anime boy instead. He was a rookie and inexperienced. But by the end of the game he was cool. He got a sword and killed doctor octopus. People were just blinded with anger to see how cool he was. When MGS4 came out they made him a cyborg to win over fans. He mostly had a similar arc to 2 but was still pretty good. With Rising they still had little faith in him so they made him much edgier and a cold blooded killer.

Art Pajazitaj Maybe some people prefer the psychotic edgelord over the eager rookie. I like both but he feels like 2 different people and human Raiden was more relatable so I think that makes him better.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero my favorite iteration is MGS4. He's not insane, but he's grizzled and hurt. But in spite of that, he's still a seasoned warrior and damn near a true ninja.

I thought this video would actually, you know, tell the story of Raiden. Like how he went from being a normal dude to some cyborg... instead it's just a random montage of him talking and fighting stuff. Misleading video title, should be called 'Metal Gear - RAIDEN TRIBUTE'

I was one of the few who liked Raiden back when Sons of Liberty dropped, I remember arguing about it with my friends haha.. Then playing mgs4 (the best MGS game of all) and everyone thinks Raiden is now a badass.. no people Raiden was always a badass! Your just too fickle.

Craze Ex it wouldn’t work as the fox engine didn’t support sword fights. The first MGS rising was supposed to be in the fox engine but it caused too many problems

When trying to save Olga's daughter (Sunny) he was badly damaged and kidnapped by the patriots. They experimented on him and made him a borg.
Raiden at first he didn't get too much credit, but after Metal Gear Rising and PlayStation Battle Royale, he became SIGNIFICANTLY popular than before!

Raiden is a character i always looked up too i have severe mental problems and seeing him fight through all his problems has helped me im glad he was created and no other character is comparable he will top them.

I played the original MGS, and then my next time in the series was Revengance I loved playing Raiden you learn how strong he gets in that game. Plus there's something cool about Cyborgs and Swords
