This is the best Darkthrone in their new doom style. The vocals are very Celtic Frosty, which I don’t love but fits the vibe.
Darkthrone is where it's at for me - at this point 20 albums in their career, long after the glory days are gone - this exceeds my expectations
That new Darkthrone is total Celtic Frost worship, both albums rule!
I wonder if the cover for the Deicide album and the upcoming Kerry King album have the same designer.

The new Deicide is fantastic, simple as that. Remember, Glen and Steve are no spring chickens and are both performing with the energy of much younger men. Steve in particular is incredible.
Deicide have been around since 1987 and are still putting out great music. That should be recognised
Yeah I think newer Darkthrone still has loads of great riffs and atmosphere, but the vocals (although I don't hate them) do sound a bit off, clearly trying to sound like Tom G Warrior.
I did really enjoy Astral Fortress despite the iffy vocals though, and this one still has some great riffs too.
As much as I love early Darkthrone, I have to say Deicide wich is my old all favorite death metal band. So I love that they still delliver great Death Metal!:)
Banished By Sin is fucking amazing. It’s on par with In The Minds Of Evil. Definitely a favorite
Great review Questy. Regarding the album title though, it's grammar-nazi time. While there is ample precedent for people having been banished 'for' having committed a sin, being banished 'by' sin makes no sense. Just sayin'. So glad to see yu back on my UA-cam rotation again; it's a great way to start my morning.
Both these albums are realy good but what do you think of the new Castle rat album now thats a real banger! 🐐🐐🐐

My favorite songs are Doomed to Die, Woke From God, and The Light Defeated and Faithless oh and the Title track

To me, the new Deicide is decent. Not their best, but I think it's better than Overtures of Blasphemy though In the Minds of Evil is better. I think the new Darkthrone album is surprisingly good and better than Eternal Hails and Astral Fortress. I think it's almost as good as Old Star which is one of my favorites of their Celtic Frost/Motorhead era of the Cult Is Alive onwards.

Some ok tracks but overall not my cup of tea.
deicide 4/10 and dark throne 8/10.
The deicide one was actully ok but very plain. 5+ for me. Darkthrone one was more interesting but nothing amazing 7- 🎉
i genuinely hate the AI art on banished by sin it turns me off from listening to the album entirely.
Both belong in the bin, proof people are pretending to hate Six Feet Under cause it's trendy, this Darkthrone album is even more generic/AI slop and with worse vocals.
I remember when satanic metal was awesome. Satanic metal these days just ain't awesome anymore. Meh.🤘
