Rail Relaxation : I'm an Indian housewife. I never visited abroad and perhaps can not be able to visit abroad in the rest of my life. But it seems that probably I, myself, am travelling and enjoying with this cab. What an amazing and dream travelling ! I have been mesmerized by this greenish and wonderful nature. What a greenery ! It's very comfortable and soothing for our eyes. I would like to thank, salute and pay my sincere gratitude to all engineers and workmen who crafted this so long railway track. Many thanks to you for uploading and sharing this enchanting video with us. With love from India,

Fact that is is as different as the lines in Europe does not make a difference: line is an example that simple and low tech things have place and function in communities. Quality of the video is perfect. Have no words to express the feelings when I was watching the video. Many, Many thanks.

I partially remember riding the Curitiba train when I was 13 years old summer 1974. Our family may have had a nice dinner dinner on it. The Brazilian passenger service was subsidized that made eating a nice dinner on the trains about the same cost as eating at a similar restaurant or less according to my dad. Too much for most locals, but OK for medium level tourists extending themselves a bit. My dad and me are rail fans. So he'd try to take us on trains in Brazil when he could. Passenger train service in the USA was all, but gone and prohibitively expensive. The biggest thing I remember about the Curitiba train was we had to get out of the train and walk around a derailed freight train to another passenger train. It was in the mountains and getting dark. There was a good up mood spirit around this train much better than typical rural poverty feel of many Brazilian rail routes. I do remember the Curitiba train being narrow gauge seeing some dual gauge track somewhere, maybe not this railroad. Brazil most of had some boutique rail fans when the railroads where being instituted because it uses two gauges, meter gauge and Irish gauge 5' 3" that you will never see in North America. Meter gauge turns out to have been popular for industrial colonies like Vietnam was for France. Irish gauge is wide gauge with significant stability improvement over standard gauge of 4' 8-1/2", but if doing wide gauge it makes sense to use the widest common gauge Indian gauge at 5" 6". The Curitiba train was remarkably slow, but seemed to be surprisingly well taken care of. Keeping the vegetation back is an incredible job! Except for the obvious trash dumping in one location the rail corridor is doesn't have common litter and receives lots of care over time, but not manicured. Despite the very slow speed back in 1974 where it is not expected to have any real train traffic we ended up passing serous freight trains as in this video! That is 50 years ago as we enter 2024! It appears that meter gauge has no tolerance for staying on the track due to rough track. The ride was not bouncy or swaying, but yet the freight train derailed. There is a lot more side-to-side overhang on narrow gauge trains at a bit under 3:1 compared to a little over 2:1 for standard and wide gauge.
@douglasengle2704 What a great story. Thank you for sharing it with us. It seams like a nice adventure for a young boy. It is amazing, they serve refreshments and drinks on the train today. That line is quite busy for freight trains, it is a way from Curitiba to the Port of Paranaguá which is one of the main ports of Brazil and Latin America.

Watched it in pieces and love how green and beautiful it is. The old abandoned buildings all the same sort Art Deco Carioca style of around 1935ish (Is this a Vargas era project like Fordlandia?), amazed they have not sunk in the ground as its very moist and jungly. However I think your speedo and altimeter way out of whack, on one very flat piece of track it drops from 925m down to 449 and then back up to 850m.
It makes me strange to think that a metropolis like Curitiba has such a small train station! The line surrounded by greenery is beautiful, especially when you reach Marumbi and the San Joao bridge or the waterfalls of the Iparanga river. The signaling system is modern, despite the line being tourist. The stations harken back to the good old days, but they are a bit decadent. Morretes station is nice. I didn't know the line, but it was a nice exploration not far from the Parana River.
@wladislaw79 The station just serves this tourist train that runs only on weekends, otherwise the line serves the freight train traffic too. It goes all the way down to the Port of Paranaguá, which is the largest bulk port in Latin America.
❤❤ Já ofertei o meu Like 😊🎉🎉
That view coming out of the tunnel at 2:08 ....my god, my fear of heights was triggered but couldnt look away. The green was unreal as well. Great videeo.
@lorirocks777 Glad you enjoyed it. It is a very interesting tourist line that I did. On the same line, there is quite heavy freight traffic to the Port of Paranaguá, which is the largest bulk port in Latin America.
Finally I can finished to watch this content in three times. But I'm so satisfied. For me, this is the best cab ride ever. I'm so enjoying this journey until last second. High appreciate and thank you so much to Rail Relaxation channel for sharing this unforgettable experience. From Indonesia. 🇮🇩
Super obrigada .

HI I like to watch the drivers dairy on the trains, but the only thing is it's not nice when the train goes past a guy Who is squatting next train line, when the train goes past no one wants to see that but I have never been to Brazil I always wanted to go to see the lord on the hill I will be watch and following you thank you

GRATIDÃO mãe Natureza por sua exuberante beleza,. Eu sou mineira e amo trem.
Olha a economia.
It is the most perfect film I have ever seen (when it comes to rail-roads) And the cleanest country ( when it comes to the surrounding area of the railroad) And the greenest! Enchanting views! Thank you for sharing it, the film , with us! I didn't see how the train looked like.. Thanks again for a beautiful job done by you and your courtesy! 🛤🚂🏡🌐🏕🤩🥰 P.S. So I checked again the description ,it says "November 2023 ," can you be more specific ,please ,like 10 -th or 20 -th or the end of November , sometimes a difference of 10 days is very important when planning a trip in such a far-away country! Thank you very much!😊
@cristinicu2058 Thank you very much for your comment. I am glad that you liked the journey. I do recommend making this trip, it is very interesting and the surroundings are...as you said, it is so green. I did the trip right at the beginning of November last year.
What are the long square wagons that are behind the locomotives on the freight trains that were passed,I have seen those on other trains on this line from videos on other Brazilian UA-cam channels that cover this line.
@t20turnaround49 This is a Vagão Madrinha/The "Godmother Wagon". It is actually a converter for locomotives and wagons of different gauges. This wagon allows a narrow-gauge locomotive, for example, to pull wide-gauge wagons and/or vice versa. As far as I know, they exist only in Brazil.
I have seen these Madrinhas made to allow for a 1600mm broad-gauge locomotive to pull meter-gauge waggons on a dual-gauge track (adjusting the coupler axis and compensating for the asymmetry) but around Curitiba it's all narrow-gauge so maybe it's just adjusting height of the couplers and/or improving braking performance. Pretty ingenious and practical solution (for dual-gauge operation), here it has some other function - just search "Vagão Madrinha" on Google and You will find some interesting things.
On the strength of this unimaginably beautiful video, I must go and experience this at least once in this lifetime, thank you so very much for filming, editing and posting this cab ride. 💯
It’s in the Yucatán peninsula in the south of Mexico (Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen etc.). The first stage will be inaugurated in two weeks from Cancun to Merida. And February next year the whole 1,525 km project will up and running. It’s a 20 billion USD project. European level standards. Thank you!

Buona giornata.
Ciao.
@DavideZerillo You are welcome. Buona giornata!
What a spectacular journey! i really enjoyed that, very restful. But Express? 3 hours to do just 69km, average speed about 23 kph! As I say, very restful!
@DrivermanO It is called an express train because it does not stop on the way. and yes, it is very restful.
Grandios!
@noahgomera-roezal Truly it was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every minute of it. And I am happy that I could bring it closer to many people watching this channel.

Bellissimo. Un pezzo di Brasile che non conoscevo
@Fandopp Great. It is always nice to get to know new places.
@armandocastelhano3015 Realmente, o Brasil é enorme e é um pais muito rico.
@Moneytane1976 I know, sorry for the speedometer. Data used are GPS data and in the line with lots of tunnels it is more inaccurate.
I think brazil is the ONLY country in the world to have maximum green cover on planet earth.
@harishrv It is very green and beautiful.
Yes
Yes my friend, it's very important to the planet
It's a shame that Brazil's republican government, after the republic's coup, abandoned investments in railways
@MeditacoesDoMonge For many years it is like that. We all hope that the railways will get more attention, especially the passenger railways.
Wow, this takes me back when I visited beautiful Paranaguá back in 2015. There's really more to love in South America.
@goldeneagle47 Great. It is always good to remember and revisit places, even if it is through video.....

@user-zh4nh4qf8m Thank you for your comment. Greetings from Slovenia.
Here in Paraná, where this railway is located, we have MANY descendants of Ukrainians.
Long live Ukraine, democracy and freedom!

@user-zt6oz5ep6q It is beautiful, the nature is Brazil is amazing.
@@RailRelaxation but dang the tracks look to be in abysmal condition and speeds are like here when the track is falling apart :D
Buona serata da Venezia!!!!!!

@NoDiscernableDirection Yes, that view is something. And the green..it is the Atlantis rainforest...I enjoyed every bit of this trip.
Very interesting railway, thanks for sharing
@lorirocks777 Glad you enjoyed it. It is a very interesting tourist line that I did. On the same line, there is quite heavy freight traffic to the Port of Paranaguá, which is the largest bulk port in Latin America.
I couldn't tell if this was a video game until I saw the people at the station and the wind blowing the trees.
@aDIYCarGuy It is a real journey. Thanks for your comment.
Finally I can finished to watch this content in three times. But I'm so satisfied.
For me, this is the best cab ride ever. I'm so enjoying this journey until last second. High appreciate and thank you so much to Rail Relaxation channel for sharing this unforgettable experience.

@ericassuvtravels Interesting.

@siouxmoux3 Exactly.
Wonderful! Although the railway crossings in Curitiba wouldn't be good for my blood pressure!
@dieterkind hahaha....agree.

@feliperodriguesdematos9173 Verdade.
Olha a economia.

@ZvonimirZelenika Thank you!
I was wondering why the train blows the horn so many times in the wilderness. Is it because people use the train tracks to walk/hike?
@7rich79 I think that this is the reason, yes.
