    I felt identified in one part, when I was just a beginner, I was 3rd in the $ 1.10 Pokerstars PKO for $ 83 which raised my bench above $ 100, then lost a couple of tournaments and started playing increasingly expensive tournaments to recover what was lost , however I reached $ 0 in less than a month

      It can be mentally very tough, our egos very often come in play. Sometimes rightfully so, thinking we beat the stakes we take shots at and that might be true, but even then we have to give ourselves enough room to keep firing and not run out of "ammunition".

    The problem with avoiding turbo SNGs is, that they are, what nearly everyone else wants to play these days. So if you limit yourself to regular speed, you might find, that games are not always even running on your poker site of choise. This is even more so with multi table SnGs.

Keep swinging between 2500$-2900$ for couple of weeks now. So tilting, any advice i play cashgames mostly. Maybe a video about this topic. Anyway thanks for your effort you put in the community.✌🏾👍🏾

    Awesome stuff !! Was quite surprised with the no Turbos/Hyper Turbo advice.. I absolutely understand there is much higher variance which could be incredibly discouraging for somebody starting out. However, the decisions are SO much easier when your short stacked.. I feel like learning push/fold is light years easier than trying to figure out what to do with your over pair once you've been C/R on a paired board and you're 50+ BB's deep.

    my personal problem is that i dont feel comfortable moving up stakes, i grinded my way up to 4k from about 500 and i do still Play 1-5$ mtt's, i really get upset when i have a Session with-40$ , so can you imagin how i feel when i Play lowstakes mtts and loose 120$? I now started to mix in some 11$ mtts to get comfortable. Also i noticed playing higher buy ins that i make just short Term profitabel decisions because i really want to cash or ladder up while on the micros i base my decisions on longterm results. I guess its just my mind since i really Think that i can beat lowstakes mtts.

    Hi Ben your advice is spot on and I know as its exactly how I built my bankroll but I have a question for you, as I built my bankroll from mainly freerolls with some 50p & £1 games I kind of overvalue it as it took me a long time to build (my bankroll) even though Ive never deposited. So should I really be not overvalueing it or just stick to proper BRM now ? The 2 key areas I have the most difficulty with is moving up stakes & multitabling but moving down is easy for me. Its obvious your a great player yet you stay so humble

    • @RaiseYourEdge

    This was literally the video i needed
    what would you say was a good treshold to move down in stakes once moving up and running badly?

    • @SimonPiano42
      @SimonPiano42 4 роки тому

      50x the buy-in is the minimum you should have, as outlined in the video (16:01). it's already an aggressive limit, conservative would be higher (e.g. 100x buy-in)
      so if you were moving up to 10$ buy-ins and go below 500$ bank-roll, go back to a lower buy-in size.

  • @shaddamiv2212
    @shaddamiv2212 Рік тому

    how much of an edge you have over a game/stake level should be a factor also, 150 buy ins for low stakes MTT's is overkill for anyone with a decent ROI over a few hundred games.

  • @samwow666
    @samwow666 4 роки тому

    for online cash games i've red/heard that most people think that 100 buy ins for low-midstakes cash is fine. do you think 100 average buy ins for mtts you play is ok. some people have said up to 1k buy ins of the average size mtt you play. what do you think is a good amount a good amount for online mtts reg speed and turbos.

      You should stick with 11s in my opinion with the odd 22, there isn't much of a skill difference between the players in each but you should play at a level where you don't care at all about losing a few buy ins. You'll just go on tilt after you get knocked out of a few tournies in quick succession otherwise. For me I like to have between 200-300. But I play large mtts where its common to go on a 50 tourney downswing

      My biggest downswing was 61 buy ins at $1 level. That hurt and that is not considered that bad. If you want to beat spins you need 100+ buy ins for recreational or 2-300+ buy ins for professional. IMHO.

(drugs? . . mafia activity? . . treason? . . world domination? . . no. . .). . . their dream of being an online poker player. . . (notice, I did not say their dream of being a PROFESSIONAL online poker player. For us here in the U.S. it really can be a dream to just be allowed to play online poker.)
