- In today's Episode of Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel Archer sacrifices his life and his own arm to save shirou in a very bittersweet scene. After a grueling surgery shirou awakes to the surprise of having Archer's arm attatched to his body. However because of the immense power a servant's body has on a human body Shirou has become a ticking time bomb, much like Sakura. If he dares to use that arm even once, his life will be forfeit.

Realizing that in each route Emiya dies protecting shirou really is heartbreaking...
He also helps shirou get laid in ever route
This is why True Assassin is the real Servant protagonist of this route, Shirou adopts the fighting methods of the Servant Protagonist in each route, Saber in Fate, Archer in UBW and now Shirou's getting a disproportionately long transplanted magical Red Arm just like True Assassin. :D

There was originally an Illya route planned, but Nasu said it had too much overlap with Heaven's Feel. So when Type-Moon scrapped the route, they integrated a lot of it into HF.
well ,considering the route split point was last night in the park when you choose between Sakura and Hero of justice, that is like half the route.

Btw. the moment when you said " i am fucking idiot he is talking about shirou" i firstly thought he was talking about himself still taking part in Zero after losing his Asssasin
Shirou probably lost not only his arm but also part of his lung from what i can see.So blood loss is a half of a problem since it can be handled by ordinary methods but with losing part of your organ it did not seem to work,that's why transplantation was necessary to perform.
