I was on the fence about a 13 year old being charged… but I started babysitting my infant cousins when I was 12 and would’ve never harmed a hair on their heads. They were colicky when sick, cried when ready to be fed, whined before nap time, etc. but even at 12, I never had a thought to physically harm them. 13 is young, but not young enough to not know the difference between right and wrong.

Then when we go to her house to see if everything is ok with my plan, she told me last minute she will go on an anniversary trip with her husband and her 16 year old and 9 year old daughters would watch my child! I said no way, Jose. And explained it to her, but she got upset. But she did not understand I did not want any child (that I did not even know) watching my child I wanted an adult woman that I know at least a bit to do that. At the end we found another family, long term friends of my husband, to watch him. He cried s lot due to the separation anxiety and he almost did not sleep, but he was fine afterwards. I would never trust a child to care for my child because children are not as adults. They can do unexpected stuff that you would never think of doing. Also it is a huge responsibility. Even if it was my own daughter, at 13 I would not feel comfortable, specially if she is alone at home. It is different if I am at home doing chores snd she would be watching a baby. That would be fine. But letting her alone with a baby? No, thanks.

I was 11 when my sister was born. I took care of her most nights because my crackhead mom would take off, and our grandma was passed out drunk and couldn't hear her cry. So I did everything. Made bottles, fed her, burped her, changed her diapers, rocked her to sleep. I cried sometimes because she wouldn't stop crying and I didn't know what to do. I would try to wake up my grandma, she would either not hear me or ignore me. Or she would scream at me to leave her alone. I never got mad at my sister! I knew it wasn't her fault, she was just a baby. I got pissed at my mom & grandma though.

I'll never forget when i was 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child and working as a nurse at a pediatric clinic, a woman brought in her baby saying he was acting weird, but she didn't know what was wrong. I assessed the baby and he was basically non responsive. He had his eyes open but no blinking,shallow breaths, wouldnt grab my finger or anything. Mind you, he was still in his carseat. I continued asking questions to the mom while still assessing the baby. My fear was shaken baby syndrome. She finally admitted the baby wouldn't stop crying and she got frustrated then she threw him against a wall and he fell between the wall and bed. She left him there "like an hour". She said she left him there because he finally stopped crying and she didnt want him to start again. I picked up the carseat and RAN to my mother in law's office (she was charge nurse) and told her to call 911 explaining what i was told. Ambulance was there in 2 minutes. I don't even remember running down the hall with the baby in the carseat. I just wanted to get him away from that monster as quickly as possible. The mother was so nonchalant and matter of fact when telling me what happened. It was like she was as blank stared as her poor baby. The ambulance left without her because the police were already on their way for her. This was 16 years ago and I'll never forget it.

I, myself have never felt violent towards my babies due to my post partum depression but it happens to a lot of women as sad as it is. It hurts my heart when this happens to any babies. I believe that if you kill or horribly disfigure anyone intentionally, you should be locked away for life. Especially if it’s a baby who can not defend themselves. Mother or not.

For example when a pt passes, I document, “pt expired at blank date, blank time, verified x2 nurses, coroner/funeral home, physician, family, DON notified” etc. it has to be very specifically worded to cover our licenses

Y’all my son was way back in a corner of a walk in closet!! My dumb a&$ brother taught his nephew how to flick a lighter!! When my son was flicking the lighter in the closet a sweater had caught on fire very quickly! If he hadn’t screamed out when he did, he wouldn’t be here today. The whole entire closet was on fire and was spreading out of the closet. But what truly is a beautiful miracle was that he had what looked as if he had a protective shield around him! I have no doubt that was God’s hands protecting my son, there is no other explanation for it. But to reach into that closet meant I was going to be burned, no doubt about that. I didn’t even hesitate. Our apartment was a total loss, but I did manage to grab our photo albums. I don’t know about y’all, but my photos are very important to me. 😘

It's actually not that hard if the baby likes to move. I lived in a daycare for years and we had days where we took all the kids on trips. The 2-9 month olds all hated car seats and would struggle and try to get out, one nearly killed himself by turning enough that he was being choked by the buckles

Hey Steve, I was in shelters for like alittle over a year and was never drug tested. Think about it shelters are usually first come first serve unless you get a bed assigned to you after showing up everyday for a certain amount of time. But never drug tested to stay at a shelter for over a year in Boston. But thank God for them cause they helped get me a voucher for an apartment😊

It’s a different time. I’m 45 and when I was like 9 I was babysitting up to 5 or 6 kids at a time, including babies, toddlers, and kids a few years younger than myself. I took good care of them. I took the babysitting course as soon as I was old enough. Yet I don’t think that could happen today because the kids wouldn’t be able to handle it imo.
My little sister was 12. She loved my daughter and she was so responsible and feed and change diapers on my baby girl. She was always in my house and always took my baby out on walks. She was so loving. Now my sister is a great mother and my daughter is 20 years old and love her kids so much. There are good healthy kids like my sister.
I was 12 and babysitting newborns and children up to 6 years old. Often I'd have 2-4 at a time. The injuries that baby suffered were intense and numerous, that 13 year old is not right mentally. She is likely a psychopath or sociopath.
I babysat @ 10/11 but my mom was next door and we had phones. I would’ve never thought to do something like that to a kid I loved babysitting, I just played with them the entire time and asked the parents to leave me lists of what they did with them and times and such! That 13 year old had huge unaddressed issues, being n the system I’m sure it was looked over and brushed under the rug…. Whoever her caregiver was needs to be investigated also as she/he knew something! They all knew she was mentally unstable they said do it

I'll never forget when i was 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child and working as a nurse at a pediatric clinic, a woman brought in her baby saying he was acting weird, but she didn't know what was wrong. I assessed the baby and he was basically non responsive. He had his eyes open but no blinking,shallow breaths, wouldnt grab my finger or anything. Mind you, he was still in his carseat. I continued asking questions to the mom while still assessing the baby. My fear was shaken baby syndrome. She finally admitted the baby wouldn't stop crying and she got frustrated then she threw him against a wall and he fell between the wall and bed. She left him there "like an hour". She said she left him there because he finally stopped crying and she didnt want him to start again. I picked up the carseat and RAN to my mother in law's office (she was charge nurse) and told her to call 911 explaining what i was told. Ambulance was there in 2 minutes. I don't even remember running down the hall with the baby in the carseat. I just wanted to get him away from that monster as quickly as possible. The mother was so nonchalant and matter of fact when telling me what happened. It was like she was as blank stared as her poor baby. The ambulance left without her because the police were already on their way for her. This was 16 years ago and I'll never forget it.

I, myself have never felt violent towards my babies due to my post partum depression but it happens to a lot of women as sad as it is. It hurts my heart when this happens to any babies. For example when a pt passes, I document, “pt expired at blank date, blank time, verified x2 nurses, coroner/funeral home, physician, family, DON notified” etc. it has to be very specifically worded to cover our licenses

The whole entire closet was on fire and was spreading out of the closet. But what truly is a beautiful miracle was that he had what looked as if he had a protective shield around him! I have no doubt that was God’s hands protecting my son, there is no other explanation for it. But to reach into that closet meant I was going to be burned, no doubt about that. I didn’t even hesitate. Our apartment was a total loss, but I did manage to grab our photo albums. I don’t know about y’all, but my photos are very important to me. 😘

It's actually not that hard if the baby likes to move. I lived in a daycare for years and we had days where we took all the kids on trips. The 2-9 month olds all hated car seats and would struggle and try to get out, one nearly killed himself by turning enough that he was being choked by the buckles

Hey Steve, I was in shelters for like alittle over a year and was never drug tested. Think about it shelters are usually first come first serve unless you get a bed assigned to you after showing up everyday for a certain amount of time. But never drug tested to stay at a shelter for over a year in Boston. But thank God for them cause they helped get me a voucher for an apartment😊

I hate it when people give 13 year olds responsibility of a child under a year old. Things happen in a way that is too much for them to think.
It’s a different time. I’m 45 and when I was like 9 I was babysitting up to 5 or 6 kids at a time, including babies, toddlers, and kids a few years younger than myself. I took good care of them. I took the babysitting course as soon as I was old enough. Yet I don’t think that could happen today because the kids wouldn’t be able to handle it imo.
My little sister was 12. She loved my daughter and she was so responsible and feed and change diapers on my baby girl. She was always in my house and always took my baby out on walks. She was so loving. Now my sister is a great mother and my daughter is 20 years old and love her kids so much. There are good healthy kids like my sister.
I was 12 and babysitting newborns and children up to 6 years old. Often I'd have 2-4 at a time. The injuries that baby suffered were intense and numerous, that 13 year old is not right mentally. She is likely a psychopath or sociopath.
I babysat @ 10/11 but my mom was next door and we had phones. I would’ve never thought to do something like that to a kid I loved babysitting, I just played with them the entire time and asked the parents to leave me lists of what they did with them and times and such! That 13 year old had huge unaddressed issues, being n the system I’m sure it was looked over and brushed under the rug…. Whoever her caregiver was needs to be investigated also as she/he knew something! They all knew she was mentally unstable they said do it
