Really glad you're having fun! This video was so much fun to do that I've started a little series looking at every one of the HACs to see if they can do this too! (Spoiler alert, I've already done four more - not all released yet - and the Vagabond is still right up there as the best!)
You have made me fall in love with the vagabond!! It's been a bit of q Road, but i almost have it all trained up! Thanks for the great video, sir! Next on the training list is into a strategic cruiser. I think that skin looks awesome. I dont think there is any conotation to pink, Im not a big fan of hot pink but cherry blosom is a great color and i think that skin looks great!
Love the idea, love the Stabber for Solo PvP, love bringing a Vaga with me to my new C4/C3 corp :) I have one question tho, why the faction MSB? I checked on compare tool and to me it looks straight up worse than tech 2, what am I missing?
on the other video about the vagabond for abyss, I forgot to mention that I also use it for C3 ratting, different fit than for abyss tho, basically the same you're using right now, pretty strong even to respond to pvp! one of the best ships in eve in my opinion, so versatile and pretty affordable too!
The Vaga is my go-to for C3 ratting. I have been using it for more than a year and in my opinion it is the best. My fit is a bit different, and comes in at around 300 mill. I use 220's instead of 425's and I find the better tracking makes up for the higher base damage of the 425's via better application. In the mids I use Dread Guristas Large SB, Dread Guristas SBA and a meta MWD in addition to the large faction battery. I like the MWD because it's great for closing with the sleepers quickly (reducing run time) and once I am close I turn it off and they still can't track. The MWD has also gotten me out of a couple of attempted gank situations, where I was able to pull range quickly and warp off. I like Caldari navy drones for their high shield HP but that's just me. I also run C4 anoms in it by swapping to a Pith-X Large SB and adding mid-grade implants. But really thats just for the challenge. The best bang for your buck is still C3 anoms. At 300mil all in it pays for itself in just a couple hours. Here is a C4 Vaga Run I recorded. ua-cam.com/video/O3EoAS-A5CE/v-deo.html
Good work Benzie! I appreciate the fits and explanations you're sharing - I've learned a ton from you thus far. Being a fellow Minmatar fanboy, I like that you've got a Vagabond fit that'll do all C3 sites, and one fit that will do the Firestorm T2's / T3's... they both use the same weapons so the skills gap between them isn't too bad. Here's a challenge for ya... How about a video with one main fit, and the changes to that base fit necessary to run all T3 Abyssal sites comfortably. I'd prefer a Vagabond / Minmatar 'hot lead' build (maybe just changing a few modules and ammo types/drones?), but to be fair let's limit the challenge to being any hull/weapon combo with only changes to mid and low slots (except a Strategic cruiser...) Thanks!
@@captainbenzie had no possibility to use it again, as I just came back 1 week ago, from a 3 year long hiatus. All my stuff got blown up, and I have to farm some isk first. I used it to farm sites in 0.0 and for Solo PVP. Didnt go that well, but I like to try things on my own, and thats just EVE :)
Depends on your skills, really 😂 if you're unskilled and looking at what to go for then, yeah, I'd argue that the Cerb/Sac/Deimos are better options... But for someone skilled into Projectiles, this is how to make it work (and honestly, the Vagabond is still my person favourite, it's the most fun to fly for me)
i would be interested in seeing you do this same series with the pirate faction cruisers. i fly gilla's in c3 (my bread and buttership) but i feel like the fits i find out there are lazy. maybe im wrong about that but seeing some more examples from you would be nice.
Hi, I suspect this contained the more detailed breakdown of the other flavours of site partially at my request, so I appreciate it. Feedback: definitely good to see the basic gist of them occasionally, but I suspect you may have been right to only do so occasionally or briefly. A mention of whether they can do them comfortably (and do them at a decent pace) is fairly essential information, and I for one am really glad there's a bit more emphasis on it, thanks! How.... about.... data and relic sites? Or is that too cheeky? =P Looking forward to videos on ships I can actually fly in the upcoming months!
My videos are planned a little ahead of time, so I can neither confirm nor deny any influence from comments 😜 that said, I can absolutely say that I have some relic/data site content coming very soon!
And yes, whilst I do showcase the same sites for side by side comparisons, I should absolutely at least mention what sites can be run using the ship/fit. Worth noting that some fits I've shown CAN'T run all the sites, but the ship itself CAN be fit for them.
I love this ship though personally I ignore the booster bonus and drop its dps a little bit and run a massive passive regen tank. I've been killed because of zero cap far to many times to run active tank. I think my current vagabond sits around 180ish shield regen and 630ish dps with hail loaded.
Nice! I'm actually going to do some combat sites with a friend tomorrow and was thinking about taken my trusted Drake for some C2s, because I'm not sure it can handle C3s. HAC however sounds much more thrilling so your video came at the perfect time for me. I'll have to check if my Vaga skills are good enough or I could bring a Cerberus or Sacrilege. The Cerberus seems to be closer to this one in terms of fitting but it doesn't have room for a core probe scanne like the Sac or Vaga. Hmm...
Problem I see using ADC is you only get to use them, after you've taken damage, ok in a pvp fit, but I would sooner have a normal DC which is on all the time. It also sticks me that a BC with a ranged fit would deal with six webs on you better, if you can keep range on the BS. Just my thoughts.
ADCs do have a passive effect too. It's just not as strong. And you can know when you're going to take a big hit in PvE. As for BC/Cruiser, sure, but for some who want to fly cruisers for PvP etc, it's great to see that the skills for a Vagabond can cover both aspects.
I checked it and you seem to be right, only frigates, destroyers, the porpoise and specialy fitted Heavy Interdictor are allowed according to Uni-wiki. But to my defence I have to say I never saw anything else then the figs and destroyers there
@@evemaniac I was flying HICs in C13s, even if you don't have bonuses to the weapon type (because you are hull bonused to mediums, and system is bonused towards small) you bring full rack of small guns. You do almost only brawling fits with autocannons. So many, it slowly gets boring! Maybe an occassional rocket or pulse laser or blaster fit, but you ALWAYS brawl! Why not do artillery, oneshot what you can, artillery is best for that!, and let the drones do the rest?
Because Artillery does not work in C3s. The enemies are too fast and get under your guns quickly. In C3s, as a cruiser, brawling is your only option as it's speed tanking to reduce damage, whilst killing quickly, and decent tracking. Sleepers are fast, Beams, Artillery, Railguns... They don't work.
