Thank you. My aim is the show how any beginning alpha player can make ISK to eventually plex an omega account while having fun in Null space and wormholes.
I spent some quality alone time in the null and made record income. Time spent: 4 hours; relic sites found: 3; cans looted: 3; cans exploded: 2; total loot value: 5M lol. But it was fun! Thanks so much for the series, I had the courage to try what I would not think about in EVE.
Great to hear! Welcome to the NULL life. if the system is empty, you should hack all the containers for practice. i'll soon be posting a "hacking tips" video series.
Hey alpha bob, just wanted to point out a little known tip. Not sure if you know, but if u get a virus within a rule of 6 (a node surrounded by six others) that means that the core is within one of the six nodes. Great content took me 2 months to get my first 5bil and keep up the good work :)
thanks for the tip!! the "rule of 6" is the most helpful tip for better hacking. I knew it, but my brother (Alpha Joe) often forgets things! so it should be interesting to see if he will get better as he becomes settled into Hacking in this Storm.
Thanks for the great guides. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the ISK 5 billion challenge. It took me 3 months to get 5 billion ISK xD. Happy hacking...
@@alphabob_eveonline It doesn't matter when, as long as it makes sense ;) I'm very curious about the impact of the storm on the amount of relics generated. .... .- .--. .--. -.-- / .... .- -.-. -.- .. -. --.
To tag the containers, i use "tags" which require you to be in a "Fleet", but it's easy to create a fleet of 1 to get this benefit. Watch my "tags" video: ua-cam.com/video/AfOZ7ntIeSg/v-deo.html
With this challenge, did you leave the extra rigs and mobile depot at home so you cannot be set up to do ghost sites? Just so you have more room in the cargo hold for sweet, sweet loot. I hit a storm about a week ago with your full astero fit to try this out and quickly ran out of room. It only occurred to me that this may be how you did it.
Yes, a mobile depot does take up a lot of cargo space. I will also only hack the Relic Sites, since the loot is much smaller than from Data Sites. and for this challenge, Joe will need all the cargo space he can spare. Make sure to carry a "Small Standard/Secure Container", these are magical, they only take up 100 m^3 of cargo space, but have a capacity of 120 m^3. go figure! With a maxed alpha flying an Astero, you do want that mobile depot and a couple of fits to run Superior and Standard Sleeper Cache sites, along with the Covert "Ghost" site when you find them. When you do the "ghost" site, you can store your current loot in the mobile depot, just in case your ship gets destroyed. -- Happy Hacking
I dont get it I used my Astero/Buz/Strat with implants for exploring with level 4 skills & i cant scan down sites in 0.5 space they even disappear while i scan and I got blown up losing my ship if the hack failed the 2nd time very Frustrating.
This storm will spawn only extra pirate relic sites. This can happen in drone and non-drone space. The normal spawns will continue to work, so in drone space you can still get the data sites, but the storm “extra” relic sites will spawn much more, about 1 every 15 minutes.
Mostly for the extra 20 m^3 of cargo space. the small container only takes up 100 m^3 of your cargo space, but you can fit 120 m^3 of loot inside. some type of black magic... I also like to have the ability to separate loot from previous hacking sessions into the container. Lastly, if i find a ghost site and want to hack it, i can leave the small container with all my loot safely at a bookmark. If i die, i can come back to collect my loot.
ah, i don't have much experience with Recon ships. If i understand, they can't be detected on D-Scan, so yes, they can sneak up better. But they should appear on grid, once they are close and this might give you a few extra seconds to warp off. How common are Recon ships that are used for hunting explorers? As you follow a storm for a few days, you will start to learn the players who are hunting and learn the ships they fly. Thanks for the knowledge!
You see Recon ships stalking belts and combat sites etc rather than hunting little explorers. Even if they did get on grid with you you should get away from a cruiser in a frigate.
fun video -- one thing i noticed is that you might not know about "The Rule of Six" hacking pattern. My comment would be too long if I tried to explain it, but there are lots of videos / websites that can explain it.
yes, at the 22:27 mark, alpha joe missed the "rule of 6". And i plan to make some videos (although there are other good ones) to explain many of the Hacking tips (rule of 6, rule of 8, etc.)
You can find these storm locations from this website tracker: evescoutrescue.com/home/stormtrack.php There will be 2 electrical storms listed (currently): Catch ERVK-P Electric A Electrical Jul-20@14:07 27 Samari Arila Enaka Great Wildlands 9-34L5 Electric B Electrical Jul-20@14:06 27 Samari Arila Enaka The center of the storm and 1 jump away will be "strong" and 2-3 jumps will be "weak" Inside the "strong" electrical storm, it spawns new Relic Sites (usually every 10-15 minutes). I think there's a limit of 5 Relic Sites, so clear the sites when you can. These storms will move 1 system (always in NULL) every 24-48 hours.
I still don't understand why you only hack containers worth more than 2 miles. I understand that it increases profit but it stops respawns. Can someone explain this to me or am I missing something.
Hacking containers takes time, during which folks are trying to sneak up on you to kill you. When all you have to gain is 20k from a duff container, and you have 50mill+ in your hold to lose, the risk / reward is not worth it. Eve is not a charity. Why should you feel a moral constraint to finish off sites at no benefit and some risk to yourself on behalf of folks in T3 cruisers also running those sites who would kill you in a second? Also, leaving unfinished sites slows down the competition and increases the number of potential places they have to look at to find you, so is actually beneficial to your survival.
When you’re filamenting around it doesn’t really matter if you cherry pick the cans. If you live in the area then yes it will screw you on respawns. But when you’re nomadic you’re worried about getting as much as you can as fast as you can.
alpha joe needs to ignore any nodes under 8 places form where the mini games spwans ( unleess the game starts in the middle ) make your way to the other end. the core is never under 8.
1h for 30-50 mil of loot. You want to get to 5bil. FIVE BIL. 100h for 3-5bil, so you need at least 200h of work for measly 5bil of isk. This is why this game has no sense at all. Low paying job will bring you 1000euros for 200h of work. For 25 euros you can buy 2-2.5bil of isk. Not to mention, the moment some other player kills you all of that work is GONE.
It's more for the challenge and fun of making ISK, and being able to play this game for free. I can usually make 100-200M ISK/hr, and i find exploration in NULL and Wormholes to be fun for most solo players. I've done Mining, Planet Interaction and Station Trading, but those became boring. With Exploring, i find it can be exciting and so far has been my best ISK/hr activity. And yes, you can be killed at any time, so usually i would return to Jita around the 500M ISK mark.
So 50mil for about an hours work (hacking, scanning, travel etc). It’ll take you 100hrs to get to 5b. Save yourself the time and buy 1000 plex for $45 and get 5b in a few mins.
just wanted to say, these are fantastically good walkthroughs of explo gameplay

What is the minimum scan strength for level 4 relic sites with the tight probe formation?
i found only 72 pts of probe scan strength works. see my video on this: ua-cam.com/video/KEfrabNoGYU/v-deo.html

any particular reason to use a secure container here?

Did not know storms increase sig spawns. Nice
yes, but that is only for the Electric type.
There are 4 types of storms, each with different effects: wiki.eveuniversity.org/Metaliminal_Storms
When you're hacking, use hotkeys 1, 2 and 3 to use the boosts you pick up, don't waste time clicking.
Very good tip! The name of the game is efficiency, and have fun.

Does this work for drone data sites in drone null or just regular pirate relic sites?
