  • Hi there railfans,
Today brings us to Miami for some Tri-Rail action together with one of the CSX rock trains.
The Tri-Rail engines you see are the following:
    #807 & #809 are EMD F40PHM-3C's
    #820, #823 & #825 are Brookville BL36PH's
Then CSX L789, #7801 is a GE C40-8W or Dash 8, on its way to pick up a load of rock from the quarry on the west edge of Miami.
That was a quick day at the Miami Airport Station.
What do you think of the new Tri-Rail-Rail colors, good or bad? Leave your opinion in the comment section. I won't hold it against you if your opinion is different than mine. For me, I don't really care much yet for the new colors. A bit on the boring side but that might change over time.
Also check out ‪@FreightTrainsUncut‬ for more freight train action if you have a chance.
Thank you for watching and have an awesome rest of your day.

Great footage at the Miami Airport station. I'm okay with the new livery. The blue sky and palm trees stood out and identified Tri-Rail from 2000 to now. On to the next phase.

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. The palm trees were outdated and needed to go but still not sure about this new color scheme. Too much dark and a scheme that doesn't really flow from car to car. But maybe over time I'll get used to it.

Great shots of the new tri rail paintsheme. 7801 was L789’s main power for a while until it went up north on M452

That’s the part I don’t like about the CSX rock trains in Miami, it’s the same engine for a long time. I like to see different ones every time… 😁

I think Tri-Rail's New Scheme is good, just it'll never be as iconic as the previous one. I like the use of the gradients within the dark blue, but my gripe is just that the multi-colored bands don't perfectly match up when two units in it are coupled back-to-back.
518 here notably was not the first unit to actually get it, that title belonging to a UTDC Cab Car numbered 503, which has been out of service for up to 4 years now, and is apparently being refurbished, but unfortunately, has still not returned to service, even 2 months after getting the New Scheme itself. Meanwhile, two Rotem Cab Cars, 518 and 521, and one BL36PH, 822, are already in service in the New Scheme. Hopefully 503 does return to service soon so you can get to see an Old Cab Car in the New Scheme.

Shame they don’t match up back to back. For me it’s too dark in total, it would have worked for me if they matched it to the scheme of the F40’s, kind of the same but lighter in total… Thanks for the other info 👍🏻

Never really noticed that difference with the dark shade being a bit lighter than on the F40PHs, but now that you point it out, I can very clearly tell.

Any updates on your N scale setup? The layout design in the video a year ago was awesome! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for checking back in Aaron. I changed the layout of the monster track due to too many obstacles. So now working on the new table, L shape. It will be mostly one level with one big turning loop on the second level. There will be way too much track in the opinion of most people but not for me. It will be a while before ready but I will post when finished. 👍🏻

Railway livery's should be sleek and don't need to have alot of colors or prints like the old Tri-Rail. This makes it feel cheap. All operators in Europe and Asia are examples of this.

Helemaal mee eens. Totally agree, for now I just can’t get used to the new one yet, I’m struggling with the vast amount of dark blue. But proven many times before, the best designs are the ones you have to get used to. 🤞🏻
