How wonderful to see rail cars un-scribbled on! Sadly, they won't remain that way for long. I can remember when this didn't happen. I believe it used to be called "respect for someone else's property"! Anyway, nice catch! Thanks!!
Sadly, some didn't remain that way even in this train...Around the 84th car, you start to see a black scribble toward the far end of some of those hoppers...as if a tagger noticed this train rolling by at low speed and was running alongside attempting to tag a few cars then running back and trying a few more.
some of the art is ugly but a LOT is really amazing. Like all things in this world, you gotta take the bad with the good. Freight trains are the worlds coolest canvas !!!
I have watched several older train videos and it seems like the tagging really started in the mid 90's or so. I have watched several videos from the 80's and early 90's and there is very little graffiti. Now it's on almost every train.
you dont remember when this didnt happen because humans have been leaving marks forever and what the fukk is so special about a grey ugly train car all those cars need a new coat
It’s not very often you catch an entire train of new freight cars with no graffiti, so this one is real sweet. Stay warm JT , and as always, great job.👍🏼
Take a ride on the Reading!! Takes me back to my childhood days spending time at my grandparents' farm. Reading RR used to run short lines for Gardners, PA for the local apple orchards and commercial companies there.
That really long NS train was 176 units long, including locos, and NO DPU! I have several favorites...boxes, tanks, auto racks (especially the articulated ones) and covered grain hoppers. God bless you, Jawtooth, and keep those videos rolling, son!😂
I've seen some new cars scattered here and there before but never so many together!! That just amazes me! The NS power in the 2 position was looking fine too. Fabulous catch JT! That's certainly one to remember. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Great videos of big trains in Hamilton, OH. Thank you for the great railfan action. Loved the CAX/NS “meet” to start it off. That NS manifest had a significant number of graffiti-free cars in it as well. The loved them all, but the last one, NS Manifest, was my favorite as it had over 23 “Box Cars”-my favorite rail car. Thank you for another entertaining video JT. Be safe, stay warm and healthy.
Hey JT, what an AMAZING catch with all of these trains and thanks for sharing! That Reading Heritage Engine was a beauty and OMG, all those brand new hoppers with NO graffiti was a sight like no other in all of the train videos I have seen for years! I then compared them to all of the other cars with tons of graffiti. That "BOOG" tag at 13:43 was a classic work of "art" and glad you had it as part of your very interesting slide show. Those brown box cars look like barns on wheels and I LOVE them! OMG, these tracks are quite busy and glad you survived all that cold with the wind chill but NO snow! Nice to see your animals and your cute cat slurping her tasty meal. Take care and be safe out there! 😎
Great video and great catches! My favorite rail car is also a box car. I love the giant ones. I was lucky enough to be able to catch CSX Q32 outside of Baltimore yesterday.. That train hauls the most famous box cars, Tropicana Juice cars. They were crew changing and we spoke with them. It was the 6th crew change to that point.
Thank you for showing the viewers the train cars and wheels you get AAA 👍 and that's about time we see finally rail cars without graffiti painted all over them YEAH and those new wheels are not out round that's track joiners that's uneven they need fixed
Hi, JT! I have been watching your videos for a few years now and I can't get over how you seem to be in the right place at the right time. Thank you for knowing what is going where and how the trains originated and where they are ultimately destined. Keep up the great work for years to come.
Great catch, Jaw Tooth...in the right place at the right time. Yes, I enjoy seeing a whole train that has not been vandalized...er ...graffitied. Good catch on that Reading heritage unit as well, Carry on.
Great video of all the catches of trains especially a double meet! The NS train that had those brand new untagged Hoppers was awesome and being pulled by one of my favorite GE locomotives the AC44C6M. The last train a lot of Steel on it for sure! My favorite freight cars are Covered Hoppers and Hi Top Boxcars. Thanks again JT for another great video and thanks for sticking it out in the cold weather to get some amazing footage! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
My favorite freight cars are those new silver hopper cars. I like boxcars too. I like the cabooses the best Jawtooth. Happy New Year to you and your family. 😊
I used to see rail cars without graffitti all of the time when I was a kid but that was back in the 60s. I remember spray paint was around $1.50 a can which in my frame of reference was 50 candy bars or in my Dads' terms 15 7 ounce tappers at the bar. Too spendy to waste throwing it away on useless stuff. Excellent train meet! Another great video, enjoyed it much. Thanks JT!
Everyone of those newer hoppers had dents in the sides. I wonder what caused them! Very cool that there was no graffiti! Thanks JT. Stay warm and safe!
Notice they indentations are all in the same spot - probably where the inner perpendicular walls are welded on, and when the compartments - 3 - are full, the weight stresses all parts involved and you see it.
Fantastic video! Love seeing cars without graffiti. As far as my favorite freight car type, I can't really say I have one. If I HAD to absolutely pick one, I guess it would also be boxcars - especially on my model railroad. Thank you for you time and efforts, Jaw Tooth! My offer to you from 2023 is valid in 2024 also. God does amazing work through those that let Him
Any old cars covered in patina and rust are super cool!...and of course any cars with famous graph! We appreciate the vids Jaw. Thank you. We watch these vids for the art but have become railfans. You may find it enjoyable to learn about some of the art culture as well. Try watching this one.., 'Rolling like Thunder" graffiti documentary. It may add another level of pleasure to your trainspotting experience. I would put money on it !!
I watched some train films from the 70's, and there was almost no graffiti on the cars. The one graffiti I could make out was a cuss word. Favorite car is a box car. We used to play in some old wooden ones in the Milwaukee Road yard back in the 60's that were very cool 😊
I have a video on my channel copied from VHS camcorder footage I shot around 1990 featuring a Conrail manifest freight in NJ (across from Midtown Manhattan no less) with almost no graffiti. _"Conrail Thunder at the Lincoln Tunnel"_ is the title if you're curious. (but that was still 30-some odd years ago)
You picked the correct side of the tracks for that one, great catch of the NS HU!!! HU, new covered hoppers, great catches!! Great question...I think I'm with you, the box car is my favorite! I recently filmed two old GT box cars. It was awesome!
Thanks Jawtooth for the great videos of these powerful engines, that have always dazzled my mind, ever since i can remember. I continue to watch J.T. Videos almost daily, and really like your down to earth approach, the no nonsense approach!! Thanks again Jaw Tooth, Still watching in Bedford Indiana!!
More train action in Hamilton Ohio with the two trains passing around the same time was really great especially at the crossing. all of those new looking clean freight cars without graffiti was nice to see also and the great Norfie and the Train Dogs making an appearance is always awesome to see as well. Hamilton is always a great area to watch trains at and the train recaps also Thanks again Jaw Tooth.🇺🇲🤠🐶😺🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
My favorite cars (for regular freight) are autoracks, but I really like the torpedo cars that you see being transported around steel mills. It's really something seeing the smoke from the molten metal rise from the top of the car.
I forgot about those, I haven't seen one in a long time. I remember seeing a train of them in Middletown in the 80s I think it was. They were crossing the main entrance to LeSourdsville Lake amusement park if anyone remembers that
Great video as always! Beautiful shots of trains. Yea kind of nice to see new rail cars at times! I once seen down in Hannibal Missouri over 100 brand new shiny black tanker cars! I asked a train engineer from BNSF what that was about! He told me Warren Buffet bought the tanker car company and they were used to haul oil up north before the pipeline was opened!
More specific, some types of tank cars stay free of graffiti because they spend little time sitting around where taggers can get to them. In your example, those cars would only be sitting still out in remote oiilfields or within a refinery. Not the most accessible places for vandals to get into.
I used to work for Southern Pacific. I remember running a couple of trains with brand new cars and I have seen a couple more of those trains while working. When I worked for SP, it was on BNSF tracks from Kansas City to Chicago. We had trackage rights. One line was fast freight on double track and the other line was single track with manifest. I worked on both and in both directions. I was sorry to see SP go. Now I live out West but I am 150 mile from the nearest railroad. Have to see trains on the Internet. @@JawTooth
Love seeing the Maersk on the double stacker train, my brother drives hgv lorries with Maersk cargo on his trailer. Going to the docks. Great catches JT. ❤😊
Saw one of the auto carriers trains in a video where the roof of just one car was slightly damaged got caught on the underside of a bridge and peeled open several of the carriers back like cans of sardines. As far cargo carrying trains I love an old steam engine on the front end and an old time caboose in the back. Maybe a Bordens Dairy boxcar with the cow of course. Maybe a Hersheys boxcar. Good old school cars depicting products made in USA and sold to people in the USA
Way to start with a nice meet and a heritage unit! Isn't that a great sight - all those new cars and no graffiti! That was the way it was until the 70s I think. First stop overnight and they will all get graffiti :(
Hard to pick just one..I'd say 1st. coal cars, 2nd. auto racks, 3rd, double stack intermodals, then everything else. As long as trains are rolling it means things are happening. And thats a good thing! Great video JT! 🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯🇺🇸👍

100 new cars all in one train. WOW Five auto rack cars with no graffiti too. I am not familiar with that heritage unit. A new one for me I think. I like the blue box car. ❤

New cars with flat spot wheels already. You are a tough guy standing in the cold and wind to get videos for us to see. Thank you very much.
That just means he's a true railfan
Most likely rehabs. Trucks done somewhere else
@@rickweissmann7101 I think you're right
Bias wheels 🛞 not warmed up yet 😂lol. Keep the videos coming son.
New cars with flat tires already, I was thinking the same thing, wheels are probably cut from high quality communist china steel that’s why
It's so eye-pleasing to see a train with no graffiti. And it was a neat touch to have the little kid saying, "But wait - there's more!"
Hats off to the folk that MAKE these beautiful machines! Keep up the great work JT!

Took my first ride on the Reading compliments of a Monopoly chance card. Those were the days!
21:29 It's nice to see a Family Lines hopper car still in the wild. (A friendly one no less, with that big smiley face on it.)
Morning all ! Another good video for Fridays relaxation !
I have always had an affinity towards the covered hoppers with the vertical ribbing. But I also do like the older coal and coke hoppers.
