Preface that this was made way before the Automatons Beta so I didn't know that an in game method for solar alignment for cameras was in the works but now cameras will have the option to align to the sun when using, I think, the Custom Turret Controller block.
I just started playing space engineers and I'm confused 🤔 on how to get the power to work.
I built a wind turbine and it's not moving or anything. I watched a video about a guy saying they don't work on the ground or something. So I rebuilt it on top of some block's a little off the ground to see if it work and it's still not moving or anything. So I have wonder is there some part of something I'm supposed to use to connect it to something to get to work?? Or do they only work on specific metal blocks?? Or maybe it's that grid thing you were talking about. I guess that's probably my problem. Have to figure out how to get it to works in the game.
Also when I go into the list of schematics I can't seem to find the batteries.
And yes I'm on a planet with atmosphere.
I also keep getting stuck in the tutorial survivor part because the instructions are horrible. Specifically in the part about filling the oxygen tank and jet fuel. As it says something about connecting the healing station but it doesn't say how.
As I was trying to figure out what my problem is through the tutorial.
@@amaxwell7333 okay first up:
- go to the "Load Game" menu which shows a list of all of your save games, select your world and click Advanced. Scroll down the list and disable "Progression". This will give you access to all of the blocks.
- For a wind turbine to work, the grid it is built on must either be partially in the ground (clipping through the ground to start with) or locked to the ground with either a landing gear or a magnetic plate.
- Survival Tutorial missions often have you repair a block(s) before you can use them or put an item in a certain block. The game doesn't tell you exactly where to go to encourage you to look around. Try looking for parts to repair nearby connectors and to make sure that ice is available
@@DecPlays_ thanks I have another question.
So I built some large crates I want to say on Wednesday to use as storage and completely built and connected and on Thursday I log back in and they were gone with all my shit that I'd stored in them.
As I started to notice things I've built and are using just seemingly randomly get deleted from the game and it's making it impossible get anywhere in the game if most everything I build just disappears. As I built a windmill before this and left to go get some resources and came back and it was just gone 😭😭.

To be clear, the losses when charging a battery are not arbitrary. Recharging batteries is a lossy process, those losses being converted to heat. Themodynamics is a bitch.
