    The instruction manual doesn't mention this, but it's best to check that the tubes are fully inserted into the tube connectors (see the T-shaped cuts in the tube connectors 1:20). You may need a rubber mallet to knock the tubes deeper into the tube connectors, but you have to avoid breaking the plastic endcaps. My preferred method was putting one end against the top of my thigh and reaching over with the mallet to beat the other end toward my thigh, which sounds strange. But it didn't hurt and it worked the best.

    I watched this vid to set up my first ever drum set. It's a good video in that it's very clear and explicit. HOWEVER.. after messing with it a bit, I decided to watch some beginner videos on setting up a drum set..
    ALL of them place the snare pretty much front and center then tom1 straight up ahead of it, Even on the nitro setup, it's much closer to how many drummers would set up, but I notice that's because the nitro has some different mounts.
    I had to get a bit creative, but I was able to get the turbo kit mounted up closer to a standard layout. I ended up putting the snare on the center bar, inverting the mount point so the bar reached down then forward.. Tom1 I mounted on the left vertical so the bar could reach across and put the tom1 where it should be. The take away I'm shooting for is, this is a nice guideline video, but you (the beginner audience) may want to watch a few drum set up vids to get an Idea of how you want it to look and feel.

    Please could you recommend a drum stool for a kid about 5yo?

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  Рік тому

      There are quite a few budget stool options that will not go low enough, my advice is go to a local music store/drum shop and try a few different types. That will give you the best idea of which one to go for.

    Great video, thanks. But can the kit be set up for a left-handed player by reversing the side poles, or is it right handed only?

    • @TimJavins
      @TimJavins 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, you can mirror or customize its configuration however you'd like. One thing missed in the instruction manual and this video is to check that the tubes are fully inserted into the tube connectors (see the T-shaped cuts in tube connectors 1:20). You may need a rubber mallet to knock the tubes deeper into the tube connectors, but you have to avoid breaking the plastic endcaps.

      Hi, thanks for the comment, all the cables do not need to be connected in order to use the kit, however you will be missing a few potentially important sounds depending on what pads you're missing, do you have any more information about your setup?

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment, I've not done any recording with this model, however the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit has been fine for recording, it can depend on what interface you go for too. Correct, there is no USB to Midi cable provided with any of the Alesis kits, they're sold separately. Good luck!

    I’m not hearing anything out of my drum kit and I did everything in the video step by step, what do I do?

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  2 роки тому

      Hi Miguel, make sure that an amplifier is plugged in via the L/Mono output on the back on the electric drum kit brain, or a set of headphones is plugged in to the headphones output and that the kit is on and the volume knob on the face of the electric drum kit brain is turned up. If you've done all those things and it still doesn't work I would recommend going to a shop that stocks these kits so you can speak with someone or contact the person you bought it from or the manufacturer. Good luck!

    Great video! Having problems with the pedals. Do you know where to buy accessories for the turbo mesh kit? Any other options for the pedals?

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  2 роки тому

      Hi, thanks for the comment! The problem with the Turbo Mesh Kit is that it isn't very expandable, as far as I'm aware you're stuck with what they've provided. In contrast, the next step up, the Nitro Mesh Kit has better pedals and is expandable, I've recently done a video comparing the two kits and the Nitro Mesh Kit comes out on top for sure. Let me know how you get on, good luck!

      Hi, thanks for the comment. I've not personally played a DTX-452K however I'd say it sounds like a great deal, the sounds on the Yamaha will be better. Although you won't be getting the same realistic feel from the mesh heads on the Alesis. Still, great price!

      Hi, thanks for the comment, e-kits generally do not have speakers built in, you will need either headphones or an amplifier (I use guitar practice amps to save cost) in order to hear the kit sounds, I hope that helps!
