I tend to watch Jon's historical TW series', and his CK runs, at least a couple of times a year. I have more experience via his videos than I do in the actual games themselves.

I love how this video and campaign more or less tells the story of a Roman General who decided "I've got the only good army on this island, why not?" only to continuously realize how in over his head he is while somehow managing to build a legitimate empire along the way
This is the type of content we need here. It's like a warm hug, seeing Jon play RTW.

In order to keep the economy going you "need to burn down anything suitably rich." Even when he doesn't explicitly say he's giving you a history lesson, Jon's giving you a history lesson.
This has got to be a mini-series, you can't leave us at this point where you didn't even stabilize!

I've been begging for you to play more Rome Total War! Old, or new, With, or without Mods! I just really enjoy your series's on them! :D
Man Barbarian Invasion is such a fascinating expansion pack. I love it when developers take the concepts of their base game and run wild with them, and few base games have fundamentals as excellent as Rome 1.
Taunting us with this was evil, Jon. You've still got a long way to go before you can prove that this campaign is even possible!

This is a wonderful channel where so many of us came in from like, Fallout or Skyrim or Rome Total War (fallout for me!) branch out in the other series just cause Jon did them, all while rewatching them all over and over again hahaha. Anyway glad to see Rome back!

The Romano-British was the first campaign I did when RTW:Remastered was released. Conquered all of Western Europe and created my neat Arthurian Kingdom. It's like playing Astérix with Roman legions.

This... was unexpected.
But strangely, I've been on a bit of a RTWR run recently and I would love to see you do the Western Roman Empire campaign... but in Attila this time.
That would be fun to see, though I'd argue it's easier than Barbarian Invasion's just by virtue of the fact that you have a good economy at the start unlike the OG. An economy which will stay good if you focus it all on certain areas. (In my playthrough I considered everything outside of Italy and Africa expendable.)
@@captainscience2732 I own most of the historicals but I only really bother with Rome 1 and the Remaster. I dabble in the others now and again, but that is about it.
It is my understanding the difficulty for WRE in Attila is in revolts and the oncoming horde.
I'd just like to see it on the channel, too. Rome 2 also, even though Jon doesn't particularly click with that title.

This is so weird because I just settled in for my third viewing of your original Rome TW play through.
Jon, you should check out "Hero's Hour". Its essentially a rogue-like Total War game. You pick a faction, build your army, and try to survive against other factions out to ruin your day. The in battle system lets you place your units down on the field like in total war. While you cannot control them directly you can support them with buffs or spells according to how you have built your main city.
Would love to see a full series.
