On the grapeshot cannons: No, the rune of burning is not why they are overpowered. They are overpowered because they are REALLY overpowered. That Ammo train mission was hard carried for me with just the cannons. Single target the big stuff, and then when they tried to cross the bridge I switched to grapeshot and took out the entire army in about 2 or maybe 3 salvo's with 4 cannons.
Cannon adventure was the first adventure I took because it made the most sense objective-wise. I quit the campaign at turn 15. I was playing as aggressive as possible and was under no threat ever, it was the least challenging campaign I've ever tried. In most of the battles 90% of the enemies were dead from cannons by the time Spirit of Grugni was summonable. At least with Ikit or Elspeth I felt like those upgrades got stronger over time so i got something to look forward to. With Malakai's cannons I didn't feel like playing anymore when at turn 7 I'm getting a doomstack. Maybe if I went Gyros i would've had more fun
I love how derpy autoresolve is, it looks at an army of mostly orc laborers against the fucking royal air force and is like best I can do is a valiant defeat.

Its hard for them to judge some though because all gun armies in the AI hands are very very bad, they get rushed down quickly. Traditionally gunlines get shut down by a single unit breaking through, and require a lot of careful planning on laying them out. So if it runs a quick battle sim without seeing any frontline units it just assumes they'll get rolled over and cant fire. Malekai is barely a campaign anymore though he's so overpowered.
One thing I learned, I believe it was from LegendOfTotalWar, is that spells like regen spells/abilities that are on a timer still trigger on the 0th second. So in actuality, you gyrocopters should be getting 30% extra hp since it heals 30% total from that adventure bonus.

Malakai was never a coward. He just thought the Slayer Oath was a relic of a different time and a symptom of the decline of the Dawi. He took the Oath because he was forced to, but he never intended to follow through because he thought it was wrong for ANY Dawi to seek death. There's few enough of them already and he wanted them to grow with the times. Hence why he and Franz got along so well

Having played this campaign myself a few times, the cannon doomstack is STUPIDLY OP. However, it's outpaced by the Thunderbarge doomstack. You literally cannot lose. Four full stacks of dragons? Ignored. Four full stacks of max level doomstacks of anything? It will win, handily.
Facts. I once sent around 6 of those things into a settlement and within moments of reaching firing range three enemy units were routing, another was half-dead, and the wall had been knocked down by complete accident. I didn’t even know their main guns could damage walls until then. Honestly, they could use a nerf, but you won’t see me complaining to CA about it. The only weaknesses I can see from them are their cost, their autoresolve performance, and the fact they can’t land, which isn’t really that bad compared to their damage output. Honestly, all you really need are 3 or 4 before your army becomes nigh unstoppable.

Airship encampment: Although the airship may stay in the air perpetually, I reason that they still need to drop boots on the ground to gather local supplies, food, and fuel.

So just to clarify; Flame throwers do count as guns. Sure they may spray a type of flammable liquid at the target, but that is still in the classification of a gun. Though in the case of Flame Cannons, it's a much easier sell. Cause it has the word "Cannon" in there. That is just a big and angry gun. In short, even if it belches flame it's a gun all the same!

Going to be frank. As a veteran from the first one, never underestimate dwarven guns. While they might have gotten power crept a bit, the humble thunderer pretty easily could rip apart almost anything thrown against them early game, and were decent enough in melee that anything that survived long enough to reach them, probably wouldn't survive the fight.
Malakai is no coward, he just had a broader perspective. Give him a personal reason and he will go in. Dragon hurts his Spirit of Grungni, time to personally slay a dragon.

As far as I remember you don't get all the remaining bonuses if you pre-emptively do the final battle of one adventure. You need to do all the small missions first. 🤔
I'm always shocked how similar the music choices you have in these videos is to my typical vibe. More than once I had to check if I had my music playing in the background lol.
Lorewise it kinda makes sense that malakai, and by extension the other ranged slayers, use powerful guns, as the skayer oath states that you must die fighting a worthy foe, but you must do so by giving it your all and fighting your best, so if say a thunderer or artillery team had to take the oaths, their all would be turning the enemies into swiss cheese while hoping one is strong enough to endure and kill them Actually kinda sad when you rhink about it
the whole slayer oath itself is kinda sad. like becoming a dragonslayer, or a demonslayer, may come with a level of prestige and awe for any other race, but its a massive mark of disgrace for a Dawi, cuz it means even a damn dragon or demon wasn't enough to let you fulfill your oath.
finally a video showcasing what ive been saying since tod dropped. everyone was complaining about the thunderbarge, but the campaign is over long before you get to recruit them, gyros just destroy early to mid game.
By the way for anyone curious the reason Malakai took the slayer oath is because he built a ship called the Unsinkable which sank on its first trip and a Thunderbarge called the Undestructible which exploded and a lot of lives were lost because of this. Also Gotrek doesn't like him much because despite his slayer oath he became a teacher in the main Nuln Gunnery School instead of charging head first into a trolls open mouth.
Malakai is the only Dwarf to ever look at the slayer oath and go "doesn't say I can't just shoot everything before they get close enough no does it."

The grape shot cannons were bugged with projectiles having 3 size instead of .3 like the empire does, in the latest hot fix they fix the cannons.
