Terry, you and George have that touch many can't feel. The Bonzo groove is often attempted but far and few successful where you and George got it brother❤
Terry, you are an animal! I could hear the organ all the way through since I’ve been loving you. The cymbal bells at the end had me cracking up; I’ve watched the song remains the same way too many times!
Don't pay the ransom Terry I've escaped! My apologies it's been forever since I made a comment. That's what happens when you let life get in the way of what you really enjoy. Great to see that you're still killing it on the drums and are still as entertaining as hell.
Nice Since.... sketch! Kick & first tom and that crash cymbal sound exceptionally great on this edition. I been working a exercise for the soft touch which it turns out requires more back of the wrist to "pull the note out of the drum:" I finally learned what that means and how to get to it...easy. Play alternate 16ths in the air as big as you want evenly with wrists then use arms to lower the flailing sticks onto the pad ( or snare). Bring down slow and even missing a few lets you gauge that rebound/wrist pull back balance. Gives more control of dynamics without losing too much sweep momentum. Came to me during an intense pad session where the drum gods smiled upon my futile efforts. Could have been the wrist butterfly claps that JoJo Mayer does too. That was such game changer. Its more about the pull than the push to clap. Same as above. Fingertips need only a touch because the quick pull back is the goal.
Nice playing duuuude. Yeah the timpani style grip is good for the controlled, pianissamo and rather quick playing style as well, I've seen many a great utilising the same to great effect. Can be powerful too, if applied correctly. Selway can be seen using the French grip and absolutely smashing out beat after beat. Lavly beats, well executed Terrr 💪
Terry, awesome stuff! Love that 18” camera perspective. Terry I swear I had a customer last week with Keating for a last name and looked like you with strawberry blonde hair color. He’s lives in Swanton Ohio btw just in case he’s related. 😎
Great question, B! Generally live I think until the1977 tour he did. ‘77 tour sounded tighter, and possibly a brass (bronze) shell. As far as studios for the most part he did, but there are some recorded songs where it sounds softer (D’yer Mak’er, Houses, Custard, Dancing, etc.). Some of that might be to the slowing down of the drum tracks.

Did Bonzo use the same snare / same tuning for every song / album?

What's your cymbal set-up these days Terry?
I’ve been using 15” 602 Med hats, 18” decolorized Colorsound 5 CRASH and a 20” Zildjian Symphonic French here.
@@bonzoleum sounds great!!
Nice! But where’s the squeaky bass drum pedal?
Ah yes- my Speed King is at the studio; on here I have a Tama Camco.
the old angle was better, with this one I expect to see mice going through the hoops and his butt crack easier to flash😵💫
