George, you really capture the essence of Bonham’s drumming… it’s very entertaining and enlightening! 👍
Thank you, Charles!
I loved his solo on May 25th 1975 Earls Court. He knows he had to make a statement. It was the last show and the previous night he seemed tired during MD. He comes out firing on all cylinders with nice camera shots of his hands and how he was holding his sticks. Wasn’t heavily gripping them. Oh so lightly.
I think it’s a better solo then Royal Albert in 1970.
He is older , better and smarter. Less arm movement more wrist action.
Check it out.
Agreed, although he had already developed some refinement in his chops by 1970. But yes, much more economy of motion.
Bonzo is proud of you wherever he is.❤
❤️🙏🏼
That is correct
It’s a good day when George uploads… every drummer needs this wisdom 🎵
Thanks!
Bonhams solos had so much musicality. Sounded like a marching band in New Orleans
George is such an incredible musician and teacher.
Much appreciated 😊
That’s the greatest lesson I ever seen …👏👏👏❤️🩹
Great stuff G, same injected double time concept as the live outro of Black Dog in the song remains the same movie
Lighting foot !😄
That's gold, Jerry!
You are the master ...iam the Grass hopper.learing a lot from your videos ... thank you
I could listen to that beautifully tuned Supra all day!!! Thx for the practice ideas George
Bonham Gold, great lesson.
Thank you George!!!
You're amazing George but, After watching John on that solo, I can't believe how fast and how easily he gets up to a tremendous speed without a flaw. It looks and sounds easy to the ears that don't know any better. It might be said that it sounds repetitious but, I play very fast quads but I don't have you hand speed. I definitly don't have John's.
Thanks again George
Good lesson. Now if I just had that snare
You prove time and time again that Bonham had it all going on.
Yes,🤘 Iv been practicing this… without much success so far☝️ looks like Iv got my homework for the week thanks v much George 👍
George, Absolutely brilliant. I think there's a massive craving from drummers out here that can play stuff, but are looking for a path (road map) to get us into a Bonham-esque style, so that we can play/jam have fun. Taking it with us and into places of our own in a natural way. ie it becomes part of our tool kit. There are small pieces out there, but not really a set of ordered exercises that build into the end product. It's knowing where to start and progressively add in small chunks / variations, over a longer time period (months/years) to build what I think we'd all like to have. Please more, more more .....
Thanks!
Great "Bonhamology 101" lesson. 👍👍👍👍👍

Dude, you got that snare dialed in man. Sounds amazing! Those Supraphonics are the best
Thanks!
Just threw my sticks in the fire! I practice like a 3-year-old with some spoons on pots... Jokes aside, thanks George, this was extremely helpful! Your skill level is always inspiring to me. Thanks again!
😂❤️
I have a completionist question: There’s a couple of videos from the beginning of your channel that I can’t find. One is your first snare tuning video I think ( I specifically remember you talking about Ambassadors vs Emperors), and the other was where you tried to use a tunebot. I loved both those, it’s freaking me out that I can’t find them.
I took down the one with the tomb bought because I was getting so many negative comments. Lol. I think I may have deleted it forever, but I'll check on those
I remember those as well great vids.
@@BONHAMOLOGY Thanks.
George,You are still the best instructors on the bonham idiom. Was thinking? You could release all these videos on dvd.I would buy it certainly. Thanks buddy
Maybe one day! Thanks!
Immediately my brain went to Black Country woman🤔
George thanks for another great lesson. I love the sound of your Superphonic. What head is on it . Coated Emperor or Vintage Emperor?
Thanks for the wonderful videos.
Actually on this one, it's an Ambassador
@@BONHAMOLOGY Wow! Sounds great. Thanks for the videos and your knowledge 🥁
Absolutley marvalous work & video! Thanks so much for breaking it down for morons like myself!
Very welcome
George thanks for all you're lessons. What sticks are you using?
Some custom made jobs I got last year.
They are similar to the ones Terry ( Bonzoleum) had made ...same guy b
Nice! This is challenging to do slow and fast! 😜Great lesson George and excellent practice for coordination! Another example of why Bonzo's my favorite drummer. Where does this come from do you think of keeping the right hand ghosting in the solo? Buddy, Morello, Elvin, or just on his own? That footage from Earls Court is thunderous and shows how much he had amazing wrist and finger control. Plus, gotta say, those are some damn comfortable looking shoes you got rocking! Thanks! ✌❤🥁
Thanks Dave, that's very true. Notice his finger control on that video. I'm not sure really, but Max did a similar thing, so did Morello.
George doing drags is never a drag. See what I did there?😆
😂
George, in the beginning of the video you are doing true double rolls ( RR LL ) not paradiddles correct ?
Can you give a time marker? I wasn't doing either, they are singles in the very beginning.
George I played everything you just did except for the kick drum the snare and the rack tom,,, oh wait that just leaves the hihat Ok I’ll get back to you lol. PFOZ tour dates like JPJ said in the movie that’s tomorrow.
Haha, thanks George!
Are those like loafers that your wearing or what type of shoes are you wearing lol
Kinda weird question to ask cause I mostly wear loafers or vans when I play shows haha
John's influence was Max Roach. Go back and study the influence of your influence then get around to your own style.
Are you speaking as a generalization? Or is that comment directed at me personally?
