  • Proper mounting of a transducer on your trolling motor is an important task. Whether it be Garmin, Lowrance or Humminbird, there's a few key things to consider. This is a Garmin LVS32 LiveScope transducer install but the same concept applies to all transducer mounts. One tip I left out...don't crimp the Garmin Livescope transducer or roll the excess up with a cable tie. This can damage the sensitive wires.

    That is a great set-up you have up front now, that should help put more fish in the boat. Can't wait for more fishing video's, I really like the format of your fishing videos with the on water footage mixed with the talk in between. There are thousands of bass fishing videos, but the format you have stands out.

    I love the boat mod videos. If I ever get around to buying a Jon Boat, I know what videos I am watching first. Thanks for all your insights as you learn and put new stuff on your boat. Keep up the great content!

    I do most of my fishing at Pyramid state park. Hope to run into sometime over there. Goldeneye is one of my favorite lakes to fish over there.In the heat of summer you can’t beat Pyramid lakes at night usually you have the lakes to yourself.

    When you installed the LS32, you didn’t leave a loop to be able to adjust from front facing to down facing to perspective views. You need to leave a loop near the transducer, and a loop for your ultrex to rotate 180* in each direction

      I left a section of extra cable on the TM. So far it seems to be fine. I'll check again next time. I don't plan on using perspective view but if I do I'll have to re do it. Thanks for the heads up Dax.

    Great Video! I`m anew subscriber of your channel. I have my garmin livescope unit on my small boat and would like to know about how run my power. Do you run your panoptics directly to a battery or do you have a off /on switch connected with an inline fuse?

      Thanks for the sub Horace. I run to a switch. Here's a video that I did. studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoewGNl6-YJFI/edit

    Great video and thanks for the being descriptive. Did you use a grommet after drilling a hole through deck for live scope transducer cable? I drilled a hole through my recessed trolling motor pan and it’s driving me nuts. Having a hard time finding the right grommet.

      It's tricky finding the right one. I think I slit mine so it would conform to the hole. Not perfect but it works

    Is it all personal preference for the head of the trolling motor vs the shaft for mounting purposes? I got it mounted on the shaft as of now. Trying to get the cleanest picture. I have 12 gauge wires from the power cable to the battery. My length is like 4 feet it's not running full boat length like most.

      I feel like the transducer is more protected on the shaft vs TM head.

    Question: How do you maintain your Black Box power status/maintenance with your Black Box under the deck?

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  Рік тому +1

      I kind of took a gamble with mounting it in that location. If I ever have a problem I will have to take the TM pedal tray out and go in from that way.

    Do you have any interface having the livescope on the shaft and another transducer on the barrel of your trolling motor?

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  Рік тому +1

      I haven’t noticed any. The other transducer is down scan n 2D.

    Man I’ve got a glass boat with a ultrex on the front and I worry about the spot lock feature I’ve heard u need to run it and wrap it a certain way on the head for that? Have u had any problems not doing that with yours?

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  5 місяців тому +2

      You have to make sure and put plenty of slack in the cable to allow for the shaft to spin without stretching the cable.

    Great set-up video. Do you think putting the rubber pad on the transducer side, so the pad is between the trolling motor shaft and the transducer, would help reduce any possible interference/vibration from the trolling motor?

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  Рік тому

      Yes. The pad is supposed to go on the shaft to keep the transducer from sliding around.

    • @TheTinHorseMonty
      @TheTinHorseMonty  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. It will be vulnerable to anything you bump with your TM head.

    You will like fishing out in deeper water pretty much useless if you are fishing really shallow. 👍👍🎣🎣
