I have my transducer mounted on a pole behind the cockpit. It is on pvc with a union at the bottom (not glued) so all I had to do was rotate the pvc until it was vertical and that takes care of the angle problem. Mounting it so far aft puts me about 3 feet n front of the transducer in the seat and about 12 feet in front of it on the bow. This allows me to reach out 20 feet easily and still fish vertical. Made the pole from scrap pvc I had laying around and only had to buy the ram mount to attach it. Position also allows me to look 25 to 30 feet behind the boat if I am moving forward. Don't know if you look at posts this old but thought I'd try Thanks for the good videos you do.
Randy what I did to my pole mount was instead of buying a 0 degree mount I placed washers under my bracket that is screwed down in boat and put a level on pole that Lvs34 is to.
Great video again! I have mine on st😮arboard side. But its all of 10in above the top of the motor, but with a weed cuter it has a bunch of less weeds that wrap up the LVS.
Thank you. That explains a lot. I have noticed that my targets like brush tops or standing timber is just to the right of the direction my transducer is pointed. Its mounted on the starboard side.
if you had the transducer on a pole , mounted on the right side of the pole with the offset used and you are to the right of the direction your pointed couldn't you just reverse the adaptor ( point arrows down ) and it would send the beam left ! It seems with the offset you couldn't have have a "perfect " straight forward in all distance from the boat ?
The fishobsessed dominator mount for lvs 32 and the one for active target is 0 degree mount with spacer that puts it far enough out that the beam doesn’t hit motor and it is beast of a mount . I absolutely love mine and no knobs too turn too make any adjustments
@@willroe1051 yes I’ve got lvs 34 I called fishobssessed and they advised too use spacer provided when using on trolling motor shaft too put out far enough too miss motor with beam. Mine is working awesome
I just bought and installed the LVS 34. In the instructions it says "NOTE: The perspective mode bracket has an 11-degree angle to allow the extension arm to transition between all three sonar views." I am mounting on a pole. Should I use the 11-degree angle if I wish to use perspective mode? Or should I use the zero degree mount? Thank you Garmin Guru !
Good stuff. I’m gona be making my purchase soon. Think I’ll take your course! Too much good stuff not to. Thanks for being so good at this stuff and sharing!
Good video. Randy, for those that mount the transducer to the trolling motor shaft could they shim the mount off the shaft so that it wouldn’t pickup the trolling motor motor? Just a thought… I went with Fishing Specialties pole mount to eliminate the 8 degree offset.
Great advice as always! My question: With the 8-degree mount, should my transducer be mounted higher to clear the trolling motor? If so how high above the trolling motor do you suggest? Thanks..
Interesting, on Ben milliken's subsribtion videos on IG he had the 0 degree mount on the shaft of his Ultrex (no other mounts other than the Garmin 0 degree) - however he angles his LVS34 a click beyond the white marking even more upward than the Forward mode so he see's his bait hit the water....and potentially to avoid the potential interference you are describing here? Thought?
Well done! So give us some feed back on noise return 0 degree vs 8 degree. My LS is on my trolling motor shaft. I would love to go to a zero degree mount (dominator) but I have heard that there is increase ghost tree with the zero degree due to the beams bouncing straight back. Any thoughts on this?
Great video I have a question can you buy the perspective mount and put it on the trolling motor shaft would that make your transducer 0° since That bracket is L-shaped Or would your trolling motor still be in the way?
Included is a mount that attaches directly to the barrel of the trolling motor probably forward and down look only has anyone tried it this way and would think that there would be no hidden area then
I suggest that you guys get a hearing test I can hear Randy just fine at the age of 69 but then I wear hearing aids or go the cheaper route try a doning a head set 😂
If I understand your drawing, you are showing the beam going down and some of it blocked by the TM foot below it. In Forward mode, isn’t the beam going out (forward?) away from the foot that is below it. What am I missing?
Randy, I know this may be a dumb question however I cannot find the answer anywhere so far. Is the Garmin Perspective mount zero- or 8-degree mount? Thank you
@The_Garmin_Guru thank you for your response. I'm a technical guy so I have another question. Does the plastic mount that mounts to the trolling motor or pole make it 8 degrees or does the zl shaped bracket that holds the transducer make it 8 degrees? Thank you for all that you do. Have a great weekend!
@@jeffhawkins900 just like the rest of the piece of garbage trolls never responds back. How else would you want to explain the difference between 8 and 0 degree. You’re a clown 🤡

Certain battery amp means alot. Lithium batteries are the way to go for a clearer screen.
I’ve covered that in other videos

I recommend at least 6-7 inches from
The bottom of the transducer to the top of the foot
Do you recommend mounting the transducer to the motor itself. I use it on the shaft ATM, wondering if it's a viable alternative.

He also has a hard ghost tree line all the time

Very susceptible to stumps and rocks there

Can you use the new degree offset to help with the offset on the 8 degree mount?
Sir! Could you get the mic closer please. I can hear but it is difficult. Thanks!
Stupid bugs don’t help. 😂
I was gonna say the same. Content is good but audio is always awful

C'mon 20k!!!
Here is a question I haven’t found a solution for. Sonar interference caused by the mega 360
What the question
Please invest in a microphone that you can clip on your shirt. It’s always hard to hear you over the bugs/insects in the background.
I have one but it really isn’t worth it to go thru the trouble of recording the audio separate from the video
The new DJI mic would serve you well sir, the previous Gen would as well. Just my 2 cents
What does the 8 degree do to casting in front on forward mode.
It’s kind of what I was talking about in the video. You gotta be aware of that when casting
Well, 0° mount work whit perspective
So does this only matter for down view not forward view
Randy, would the summit mount fall into the 8° mount
you can adjust the summit mount
Those insects in the background are deafening
They don’t listen to me
What mount do you run to have the 0 degree
I run a summit outdoors mount
Randy, I know this may be a dumb question however I cannot find the answer anywhere so far. Is the Garmin Perspective mount zero- or 8-degree mount? Thank you
