Hello. I’m currently doing this on my 01 with the 5.4 2v. Did you take off the oil pan to tap for the oil return? I really want to avoid having to take off the oil pan.
Terry Smith I have a 2003 regular cab long bed 2wd with the 5.4, it's got about 180k on it right now, and I have a 2005 that's a daily, I'm really considering getting rid of one of my dirtbikes (for some extra cash) and turning the long bed into something that would be fun to play around with at the local drag strips and street race at our local races and beat my friends gto hopefully. If I did all this with no labor and maybe some cheaper parts do you think it'd be worth it? Just trying to make something like the "farm truck" even though it would be no where near as fast as that.

Terry Smith Hey man, I think this build is so cool. Is there really any disadvantage of the turbo compared to say, a procharger? It seems like you get close to the same power at probably half the cost of a full supercharger/procharger build.
Are you running this on stock internals? Do you have a parts list? What kind of tune are you running? I’m building a turbo Baja truck with a 5.4 and am just seeing what other people have been running.
@@thetruth45ful I'm looking to do a turbo setup also on an 01 f250. I gave the guy at CG fab a call and he said he only has the setup for a lightning. He said he does not know if itll work on the 250 as he has never mocked one up.

I read it was better for high boost low displacement engines so I was thinking that it would be good on a Lincoln intech 32v engine and urs is just the larger displacement version

That’s the torque converter, it slips and then locks up. It helps with accelerating.

4.6 is a better platform actually.. it revs higher and handles the same power

Yeah the way they setup the Triton intakes up it was almost like a single plane intake manifold and that's why they respond to boost so well.

Evan S. Well stock, the 5.4 makes all of it’s torque at 2500 rpm if it’s a 1997-2003. So I wonder if it’s the same with the turbo.
