Really hope the FP700 package continues for awhile. Not in the market for a truck rn but in the next few years I will be. Anyone here own a fp700 package?
There have been factory options for supercharged coyote trucks for about 7yrs.. I bought one in late 2017 brand new with a Rousch TVS on one of these. Its actually boring after about a week.. Had it for a year and a half, until the regular cab got so shitty to live with as its bouncy, no leg room, no storage, and not insane fast unless you want to dump another $20-$40k in it.. I’ve wanted a f-150 coyote for some time, just the ridiculous pricing of vehicles keeps me driving my 2010 GMC Sierra with its tired 6L80 transmission. 😢. I also have a 2006 Ford F-350 van. The van drives amazing. I bought it from an auction just to haul my motorcycles with and use for camping. It was my first Ford being a GM guy my entire life. That van is stupid bulletproof, easy to work on,….for a van and feels so strong even with 165k miles on the clock. That 5.4 triton has earned my respect and trust. I really want a 5.0 coyote because it just sings. I don’t need crazy speed, but I appreciate a vehicle that works without fighting itself. I pissed away a bunch of money eliminating GMs bs afm/dod. The transmission/engine combination feels like they just smashed them together with zero consideration or even a goal in mind. My next truck will be a Ford as long as I can get it with a naturally aspirated V8 and a chain driven oil pump. 😂
You may have to give up on the chain driven oil pump idea, they went to a Kevlar belt fed oil pump in the gen 4 5.0L's from a gear driven one in previous generations. Time will tell if that was a wise option in regards to reliability.
What a great time to be a car enthusiast. I was a teenager in the early 80s when automobile performance was dismal. I rode bikes back then so I got my fix from 4 cylinder Japanese sport bikes. The 1000 Interceptor I owned could run 10s at the hands of Pee Wee Gleason (the guy you hired to get the best out of your bike back then). Cars were sloooow. They've caught up, and then some. Loving it.
I have a gen 3 Coyote in my Mustang, 460 HP, and the best thing about it is that I can run regular gas as it has 4 knock sensors that will retard the timing to stop pre-ignition. Of course you lose some horsepower but I don't miss it. I have over 50K miles on it and never had a problem with that engine or the 10r80 transmission for that matter.
It should be mentioned that the 18+ 5L trucks are the ones putting it down, and the 10R80 that everyone loves to hate on is as big a reason for how badass they are as the Coyote. BTW there are plenty of stout N/A and RWD trucks as well. A RCSB, 2WD F150 5L is a 4,100-4,200 lb truck. Plus F150 is easier and cheaper to mod than 5L Mustang. Every mod up to 700 WHP or so is a power mod instead of a supporting mod, other than oil pump gears if you think you need them. The biggest advantages the GEN3/GEN4 5L F150 engines have over the Mustangs 5L is: A) F150 uses Speed Density, where Mustang uses MAF, (other than 20-23 GT500) and you don't mod the SD regardless of HP. It either reads the correct pressure or it doesn't. (MAF reads velocities, where SD reads pressure) For this reason SD is not as good as MAF if you intend to run aftermarket cams, but otherwise SD is very easy to tune, and you don't have to worry about pegging it or getting out of its range. And B) F150 5L is a factory flex fuel vehicle. (not Mustang 5L or F150 EB) A stock 5L F150 will happily run on E85, so obviously the OEM fuel system has to be up to the task of feeding it enough fuel on E85, and the first required supporting mod is bigger port injectors (stock is 47 lbs in F150 with GEN3 5L, plus you've got the DI side of the fuel system. I believe the Mustangs stock port injectors are 19 lbs, but I'm not 100% sure) at about 700 WHP, and between 750-800 WHP you need to either upgrade to a bigger fuel pump, or run a BAP on the factory pump. The 18+ F150 responds better than most N/A cars to mods. I mean you've got the same block, heads, rotating assembly, etc as the Mustang, but your making 60-100 less HP. Other than the intake manifold being a little more gear towards better lowend power in the F150, and better topend power in the Mustang, the main reason F150 is rated to have so much less BHP is because it's rocking a 12:1 CR, and is rated to run on 87 octane, so the factory tune withholds a ton of timing to prevent the engine from blowing itself up on crappy gas. Remember stock 5L F150 works with E85 from the factory, so put 93 octane or E85 in the tank, and get tuned for it, and you see big gains from just a tune that you used to only see with boosted vehicles. Better still get a custom flex fuel tune, and run whatever gas you want, and the computer self adjusts the tuning for you. Plus, the 10R80 really starts to shine when you let a knowledgeable tuner work on it. Even the more lowend power focused 18+ truck manifolds make power north of 7K RPM before they start to fall off hard.
This is a tune only/E85, crewcab, 4X4 with 3.55's. Pretty much a 5,600 lb truck. ua-cam.com/video/1XrsIZd4IjE/v-deo.htmlsi=SZtO0GO68PGzcCn4 Here's a ported Boss 302, LT, midpipe, tuned, running E85 truck. The Mexican gtr😂. Man, I have a 2022 regular cab 5.0 fx4 and that thing was fast from factory. I'm pretty sure this man could make a Prius sound amazing. Make that your April first video.
So he's right the narrative at the end priceless I subscribed I've seen your videos before but this one is next level I mean I sent it to my Mother and Father ;') regardless now I want one why? Idk I love going fast and miss my Prelude I need to get her back anyways the way that engine stays in the powerband is Epic and how you explained the evolution of the Coyote is Nice keep up the excellent work and I will recommend your channel to all worthwhile individuals... Love
If you owe the bank $100 its your problem but if you owe the bank $60000 then that's just the banks problem *LOL*
Thats hilarious
😂😂😂
No, that is most certainly your problem. Outstanding loans only become the bank's problem when they are a significant percentage of the bank's assets. Even for the smallest 1 branch credit unions $60,000 is a rounding error on the balance sheet.
@donmac7780 sarcasm was wasted here 🙄
I thought this was going to be a video about his build, but guy threw some competitor info at us instead! Love this channel, dude is the James Earl Jones of car history!
Your narrating on this one was priceless!!
The narrator is the FUNNIEST NARRATOR ON A AUTOMOTIVE DOCUMENTARY EVER! Love this man.
I have always been hating on fords, but man.... You have to admit the Coyote is the best engine made after a K24 Honda engine. The Coyote is basically a Honda V8 designed and built by ford. This is beautiful, sounds beautiful, and rips tires apart. Gorgeous engineering.
Ayyyyooooo shoutout my boy Frank @ 14:20
As always, killer content 337 you never disappoint.
Great video, takes me back to my Gen 1 Lightning. I never would have guessed how far they would come with fast trucks. Love the commentary too!😂
As a european with a love for muscle cars I never got what made pickup trucks attractive for many, or certain versions of them even for car enthusiasts.
NOW I get it
337 killing it with the writing, production, and narration. Do ppl realize how good these videos are 😅
I am a LS guy, but I have a supercharged f150 and it's amazing
Getting my 2023 F-150 Lariat with the 5.0 Coyote Engine, I will be going twin turbo setup instead of the Supercharger. This is my first truck ever!
The fp700 will barely beat an bone stock mustang or camaro if at all.. I enjoy my lariat 4dr ecoboost with downpipes & tune that is a nice useable truck that makes mid 500's and 600ft lbs..
The FP 700 package is a stage 1 whipple supercharger. I did everything myself in stages and went with the stage 2 whipple.
V8 5.0 regular cab is the most badass and old school option by Ford. i love mine and also have a supercab for my construction work, the regular cab is for the weekends.
Great video! There’s so much to take out of this video, but one of my favorite lines is, “ because the look of a Tesla owner when a brick is along side of them is priceless”😂😂
About to head off to bed and saw a notification, 337 SPEED! sleep can wait!!
Heyyyyy my truck made the cut!!! 😆
Mom had a 4.6l OHC in a mid aughts Lincoln Continental. The thing was a FWD V8. Traction no, torque steer yes. The trunk was absolutely massive and at highway speeds passing was effortless.
The Gen 2 Lightning was the G.O.A.T of the 90s
As the original owner of a 2001, I approve this post.
Except it was still slower than a cyclone with more cylinders and a lot more displacement.
@@mcfish689 that's true, but for it to matter in the real world you'd have to actually run into some cyclones out on the street (or at the track). I only ever saw them in magazines...
13:18 shots fired!!!
This man never disappoints! Thank you for another great video.
My F-150 XLT 5.0 is as fast as a 1970s muscle car. Absolutely love it. At 37,000 miles, it still puts a smile on my face when I put my foot in it.
I'm pretty sure this is by far your best video yet. Great editing and man you do your homework. Keep up the great work.
Wow, thanks!
I can't help but to mention how the on point editing and the voiceover makes these videos so informative and captivating to watch!!💯
@5:23, Man that truck sounds good!
Bang for the buck hands down Ford is delivering for the sport truck market and your video made it very clear. Gm guy.
About damn time we got a new video 😂😂
always making great videos the tone is always right it’s like i’m listening to a real smart buddy of mines
The Amry loved this video and the supercharger comparisons. Keep it up!😂
This makes me miss my 99 F150 SVT Lightning. Daily driving that truck was the only time I have ever enjoyed my work commutes.
That's your fault for moving on to boring cars just because you got older. No reason to drive boring cars. I always enjoy my commutes because I love my fun to drive vehicles I have.
@@midnight347 No, I've had a few interesting vehicles since but they have all paled in comparison. I am a big dude therefore don't like small cramped vehicles so my preference is trucks. I've had both a Ford Raptor which was not even close to as much fun on the street and and a SRT-10 which didn't handle well and was a nightmare in wet weather (I live in Florida where it rains all the time). Actually the only thing that has come close to as much fun was a manual turbo diesel VW Jetta Wagon that has the same suspension setup as a GTi but twice the legroom.
The Unbeatable Takuache 13:35
The Takuache Final Boss🤣
337 speed dropped another Vid. its gonna be a good day!
Nah how in the world, does this guy keep on putting out such a good content?
I have no job💀
You have almost talked me into driving a ford. Well done on this amazing video
boosted f150 on youtube was building only coyote f150s before most on youtube caught on. then he crashed it and started another build but now everyone has caught on how insane these are being aluminum they are hellcat weight damn near.
They weigh less than a hellcat lol
A good friend of mine bought an f150 the first year of the Coyote. It was an absolute beast for a stock pickup.
Bro woke up in a mood 😤
Been waiting for you to release
Never thought I’d want an F-150. Well done, sir. Well done.
So you just decided to choose violence on this video huh Jay 😂😂
Makes it a lil interesting💀
What a great time to be a car enthusiast. I was a teenager in the early 80s when automobile performance was dismal. I rode bikes back then so I got my fix from 4 cylinder Japanese sport bikes. The 1000 Interceptor I owned could run 10s at the hands of Pee Wee Gleason (the guy you hired to get the best out of your bike back then). Cars were sloooow. They've caught up, and then some. Loving it.
“Well, now I know exactly what car I want to get next!!” - me after every 337 video 😂
Now this is a video I’ve been waiting for😈
It should be mentioned that the 18+ 5L trucks are the ones putting it down, and the 10R80 that everyone loves to hate on is as big a reason for how badass they are as the Coyote.

Here's a ported Boss 302, LT, midpipe, tuned, running E85 truck. Crewcab/2WD.

All these trucks are N/A, factory sealed engine trucks.
Lmaoo that ending 😂. 337 does it again.
The Mexican gtr😂. Man, I have a 2022 regular cab 5.0 fx4 and that thing was fast from factory. Borla atak muffler, S&B cai and an e85 tune from palm beach dyno has made the truck even faster and more gas efficient. Waiting to save some funds and will be installing the ford performance whipple 🙌🏼. I just want a fast cruiser.
So if I frequently violate people civil rights I just go get the king's ranch😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
You got my like and attention with the good information and presentation pacing, you earned my sub with the King Ranch quip. 😂
Bro the end killed me with the King ranch reference 😂
These videos just get better and better Jay, keep it up!
High revving capable V8 from factory on a base model truck is crazy
You're making some of the best content RN.Now I really want to coyote swap my '06 Crown Victoria
“12 weeks, the average lifespan of lifters in a 6.2L GM V8” lol, that was savage!
Maybe he meant the adjustable ones for the active fuel management.. The LSA and LS9 lifters are solid
I daily a 450 whp 8th gen civic si. Driving home from work a dude following me in a newer f150 keep hogging on it sounding awesome. Traffic clears and I drop gears down and he waves me to go. Reels me in and just waves as he goes by. Straight gansta. Lol
Blue Oval 4 Life Baby!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with everyone. I learned so much from this, all because of you. Respect ✊
This is exactly why I got a 2016 Limited. It's got the Ecoboost rather than the coyote, but I was so impressed with the f-150 veins a sleeper that I just had to get one for myself. I DO NOT regret it. Making most cars at the stoplight wonder how they lost to a papa truck. It never gets old.
First of all, it’s a bow tie till I die. Secondly impressive video dude, wicked history lesson 🤙🍻
Anyone else notice the sparks flying out the bottom of the engine when the green mustang was on the dyno? 😳
This is one of your best presentations.
Well done, I love it
