Hello can someone recommend me any exhaust system that sounds nice I have a stock 99 f150 4.6 I want something not loud but that sounds subtle and badass at the same time
I have a 98 f150 with the 4.6 and I did a muffler delete and it gives you a nice rumble going down the road and it keeps the Ford burble when you rev it to high rpm so I would definitely recommend it
I just put a flowmaster 40 series on my 4.6 and it sounds great, low rumble idling and at low rpm’s, but it can definitely scream once you hammer down on the pedal.
I've owned every generation of F150 since 1985, and I've worked at a Ford dealership for two decades. I have to say this generation (97-04) was the best made in terms of long-term solidity and quality. There's a few mechanical gremlins you have to sort out, but the body and interiors remain so solid in the long run compared to the other gens. I still own a 99 with 190k miles and there's no squeaks or rattles and it still drives like a new truck.
@@fyourmom2173he’s prolly talking about how the 5.4 like to shoot it’s spark plugs out and it may have had camfazer issues too. Also, all generations of truck/cars have a few lemons.
I just baught a 2002 Ford King Ranch for $2000 and love it. Restoring it to its former glory. Has the 2 valve 5.4L and is so easy to work on. Parts are definitely easy to find and not really expensive.
Parts easy to find…where do you get them? I am beginning my 2001 restoration including paint, lights, wheels n tires, interior, etc., motor and tranny are gtg, mileage is creeping up, but I want my grandson or granddaughter to have this truck one day. It is my first F150, and only as of now. I hate payments so I do all I can to keep this one in top notch condition. 2001 SuperCrew XLT 4x4.
I worked for a used car dealer for 8 1/2 years. We had an F150 from that era. It was red, stepside, lifted, big tires and a chrome rollbar. It was one of the most beautiful trucks I've ever seen. And I'm a GM guy.
Got a 97 4.6 flare side, paid 500 bucks for it. Great truck, 290k miles but still going strong. Ive done some work to it of course but nothing major, drivetrain runs great.
I just got a 98 F150 (250K miles) for free. I just had to get rear tires and pay for the title transfer ($400 total). This will be my beater for now while I fix my Audi S4
I just bought a 2000 F150 in pretty good shape. The factory accessory packages installed included auto 4x4, skid plates, front hooks, trailer towing package, it came with eight spare tires, six of them already mounted on 7 lug rims, and a canopy. I got an incredible deal on it. It needs some work, but wow. This thing can drive through knee high snow like butter. And I live where two and three foot snowfall is possible. Sure it only gets at best 15-18mpg, but who cares! It’s a BEAST.
I have an '01 and that generation of body style-- there's no better looking F 150. It has a 3" body lift and a suspension lift. I added 35" x 12.5'" tires to fill up the wheel wells which also improved the squirrely handling in the rain. It has a 3" rake downhilI. 17" bent spoke wheels get a few compliments on the street. An aluminum billet grill was added and I removed the 4 x 4 decals. My cigar holes pit the driver's seat but I don't care.
I have the 10th generation Ford f150 King Ranch 2003. It has the 5.4 V8 Triton 2 valve. mechanics told me it was one of the best engines ford ever made. I put 370,000kms on it before it went and just replaced it with one that has 180,000 kms. I should get many more years out of this fantastic truck and great engine. In 2004 Ford re-designed the 5.4 and made it a 3 valve. mechanics say it is the worst engine ever made and pity the poor people who own one. I guess I got lucky. I'll end up retiring this truck in years ahead with 600,000 on it.
I put a receiver with wireless Apple CarPlay in mine last year. My 2002 has every option I want except cooled seats. 4wd, power heated seats, power windows, power door locks, adjustable pedals, Apple CarPlay, upgraded stereo and speakers. I added a modern rearview mirror with auto dimming and garage door opener etc. Did the metal ferrules on the latches for the rear doors, I replaced the AC compressor, condenser, starter, alternator, fuel pump, the tail lights and the third brake light, along with a set of fresh Michelins. She's a damn good truck.
I bought a clean 97 with a 4.6. The owners had been pulling a 21 foot camper up in the rocky mtns. They over heated it and blew a head gasket. They had done lots of maintance work. After they blew the gasket they added new Radiator, fan, coolent pump among other things. But new gasket its been running great. It our best running vehicle.
Based off the lower valance and not seeing a 4x4 switch or stick, I am gonna say its' a 2wd which means its a 7.5 Fabtech lift. Only way to get one now is to buy one off of someone used. Good luck hunting everyone.
that lift kit is going to be a fabtech 7.5" 2wd lift. You can add a 2" coil spacer but ride will be somewhat rough. I had the same lift, had terrible bump steer because no one makes a 2wd drop pitman/idler arm. otherwise works decently with 37s.
I have a 99 F150XLT 4X4 with the 5.4L. It's an automatic, which I enjoy. I bought mine in 21 for 3K. It just needed the AC condenser replaced. Then one of the spark plugs popped out. Got that fixed at a shop.
Got 2003 4.2 V6 body is a little beat from my brothers taking their anger out on it but it’s been in my family for 20 years it’s mine now and about to hit 170,000 miles still running strong!
I've got an 03 Flareside 4WD that's as clean as that but no lift kit, I don't care for lifted trucks, it makes them difficult to get in and out of and are useless to work out of but hey to each his own, mine has bucket seats and I upgraded to a full length center console out of an Expedition it bolts right in and looks all factory, the 2 valve 5.4L engine is one of Fords best if properly maintained, that's a beautiful truck and it's got probably at least $3000 in wheels and tires, you should buy it.
We need an update video on you. Last i knew you loaded up and moved east. Are you back in AZ? Do you still rent out the house you remodeled in Scotsdale? Have you done more remodels other than the wood fence?
