Awww such a majestic car, in such a beautiful setting. Another bucket list place for us to go. Thank you so much for showing us around. All the best Chelsea and Mike
Road trips from BC to Alberta are consistently fun ! Your video prompts me to try a first time YT for my next drive: your photography and commentary set a very high standard! Looking forward to more Travel Eaz videos (maybe eastern WA and central OR?). Thanks.
This was my first car video - I had no idea what to do. I filmed a lot of garbage along the way so it's a work in progress. I also had to re-shoot some video as I erased (accidentally) a day's worth of video. You should try it! I do plan on a couple of trips to the Oregon Coast and Bend. I would also like to go to Crater Lake National Park (never been there). I also want to go to the Palouse (for photography).
Thank you very much. Some of the quirks only make it more interesting (at least, I like to think that). I have had a few older 911s and boy, are they quirky! But, they are also magnificent.
Cupholders? I wish that my 996.1 had cupholders to complain about. 😄 Beautiful colour on your car, by the way. I'm one of those weirdos who loved the brown that the 997 was available in. Very classy!
Thank you for the comment. I also have a 2003 Boxster S so I can relate to the cupholder problem - I added "cupholders" inside the armrest, and they are pretty dreadful too. Oh well - the cars (996 etc) are great so what is there to complain about, I guess.
Fabulous video. Of course it’s beautiful but it’s so well filmed, edited and commentary. Thank you. Fun story. My first girlfriend Louise dumped me at Lake Louise. I shall never take my wife Kathy to Lake Kathy. Lesson learned. Someday I shall have a Porsche.
Hi there - thank you so much for the wonderful comment. Sorry to hear about Lake Louise - a good reason not to go back, I guess! Thankfully there are plenty of other beautiful places to choose from.
I've done the trip a few times (in reverse, as I live in YYC) with my 2008 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) SE. Nothing like taking a fun car through the CDN Rockies!
I agree - I had a 1990 Miata during the 90s and did the same trip (I was living in Calgary at the time). Drove in a blizzard through Yoho in the middle of June - had the roof off at the time. Good memories.
I currently own a 2013 mk6 golf R that had 4k miles when I bought it and now it has 62k. I have loved every mile of the driving, and would love to take it somewhere cold, I like in Texas. My previous car was a 996 gt3 it was my daily driver and I loved it too, but that C4S looks incredible glad you are enjoying it.
So - the 996 GT3 is awesome!! You're lucky to have had one. I had a VW Golf GTI from arouind 2014, I think. Loved that car - of course, the "R" is better again. Wonderful choice.
@@traveleaz that gt3 was and is an incredible car, I still see it somewhat often, has over 100k miles and is in great shape. As far as the R is concerned I cannot think of a better daily driver for me.
I will be picking up my 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in a bout a week. I will do the same trip since I live in Seattle area. When did you do your? a 4S is ideal for a road trip if you ask me...
I'm so excited for you! There is nothing quite like waiting and anticipating a new Porsche (new to you). That's a great model! I live in Anacortes - and yes, the 4S was perfect - particularly consider the rain (heavy), snow and even some ice in places.
Beautiful car, beautiful video. Would love to do that journey one day. How many miles did you put on the clock with that journey? For 15 years old it looks a beaut. You really are living the dream.👌
Hi there - yes, the wildfires were absolutely horrible. I filmed most of this video the last few days of May and then the first week of June. There are some things in this video (and my Jasper video - a separate video - that were burned to the ground). Thank you for the comment.
You're right about the filming - about 95% of it was in the last few days of May and the first week of June. Fires were in late July through to September, I believe. Anyway, I did film a couple of the videos when you can see Fall foliage in October - I drove to Yoho National Park. I had a day's worth of video ruined so I filmed a few pieces when I drove back in October (that's why the video was delayed and that's why you see fall colors - not great for continuity, but it was still the rockies (same location just a few months apart).
@@svenhodaka9145 thx for your information. It was very sad what happened in Jasper. In the last 30 Years I was different times there. The people who live in Jasper are very strong. They manage to make the place how it was! Greetings from Germany!
No - from where I live (Washington State) it's about a 10 hour drive to Jasper (if I don't stop); about a 5 hour drive to Calgary from Jasper (again, if I don't stop) and then about 11 hour drive from Calgary to Washington State. It's a long drive - and you need stop often because there is so much to see.
Nice. I too, have driven my 911 through the Rockies. Vancouver to Edm, then Edm to Calgary and Banff. Took my 928S from Edmonton to Banff and Lake Lousie too. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the comment - so glad you've driven through the Rockies in your 911. A dream road trip. As for the 928 - I LOVED these cars when I was younger. I think they are about as perfect as you can get for a comfortable yet sporty road trip. Iconic cars.
The stunning scenery combined with the thrill of driving Porsche 911 makes for the perfect getaway! Unforgettable adventure 👍👍

Hi guys - thank you for the comment, I really appreciate it. As for your Iceland video - which I just watched - no words (just incredible).
That’s my favourite drive. It’s great to see the Porsche on the road being enjoyed!
Thank you very much. The drive is spectacular! And the car was made for such conditions.
Well done …. Fun road trip.
Thank you very much. It was fun. Don't know why I didn't do it earlier.

Nice video. I agree that the 911 is a great driving car despite some minor quirks. 😎

@ I agree. I once owned a 1988 Targa and it was a great car. My current car is a 2017 Carrera, still a great car to drive.
Love the 2017 model - super comfortable (and beautiful). I once had a 1978 Targa - loved it (but it was a very high milead vehicle).
Great video! Would love to see more with the 997
Thank you very much... I wasn't sure if doing a Porsche video was a good idea, but I think it was. More to come!
Love these roadtrip videos ❤
Thank you very much - me too (and I'll have to do some more).
What a wonderful road trip! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much. It was fantastic - hoping to do exactly the same thing again, next year.
Nice video, greetings from Calgary
Thanks for the comment - I'll be back in Calgary in two weeks (I lived in Calgary for 15+ years and get back there a few times a year). Go Flames.
Beautiful spec 997, i have an 09 C2. That 4S is made for these road trips, thanks for sharing! BTW what tires do you run on a trip like this?
Beautiful 997 (is that macadamia?) and a wonderful voyage through the stunning Rockies!!!
Thank you very much. You have a keen eye because yes, it's macadamia!

I believe I did nearly 2500 km (about 1550 miles). I drive around the City of Calgary a little bit which added some miles.
Porsche is a excellent Sportscar. What happened in Jasper right now? Do they rebuilt the town after this horrible wildfire? Greetings from Germany!
This must have been shot the previous spring or fall. Sadly, a third of Jasper burnt to the ground Jul 25, 2024.
Yes, it was a devastating fire. The rebuilding has began. Most of the remaining businesses are open and are welcoming visitors. 👋🇨🇦😁
