You caught me off guard with the mental health talk, but I completely relate. This year I’ve turned my life around and also bought my 1st Porsche in August (2008 Cayman S 6spd). The car just went into storage for the winter, but I spent the last 3 months driving & enjoying it, joined the Porsche Club of America, and have met some amazing people. These cars bring pure enjoyment to those who appreciate them. I love your channel ❤ Greetings from Toronto 🇨🇦
Very nice. I used to own a 987 they are great cars. Bags of fun at a good price point. Wish you all the luck and pleased to hear your turned your life around. These cars make you feel alive and be thankful we have in our lives. Thanks 🙏 👍
You are 100% correct about the car making me feel better. Sometimes I get frustrated with an expensive repair bill. However, the car always puts a smile on my face. It's better then any therapy (at least for myself.)
Your car looks epic Al. I personally like the touring look you’ve given it.I take my 996 out for a blast 3 or 4 times a week in all weathers in the evenings to lift the spirit. The Porsche sports exhaust never fails to make me smile. Thanks again
That’s the stuff. They are meant to be driven and I love to see the dirty ones it means the owner is getting value from it. Many happy more miles ahead of you 👍💪
Sorry mate but l absolutely LOVED that car before you removed the rear wing, took off those amazing wheels and put the transfers down the sides. I even took a screen shot of it to remind me of how beautiful it once was 😢
That’s cool mate it’s all subjective but I still have the wing so can put it on as and when I feel like it. No wrong answers with these cars (in my opinion) all good 👍
@ Absolutely agree man! But whatever the way it was it certainly floated my boat mate 👍 If l had the balls to drive one in that colour that certainly would of been the one. I’ve unfortunately had to stick to the boring silver and Guards Red ones 🤣
Had mine 2005 Carrera S for 10 years now, Love the car, the last original/analog 911 passing 121000 miles, no problem, KW V3, complete Powerflex bushing upgrade, as well as the Powerflex lightweight control arms, Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust, RSS tarmac engine mounts, short-shift, and IMS solution for good sleep never get tired of driving the 997, have been my Mental help from the first day i picked it up, its therapy
Another great video. My Porsche plays a huge part in my life helping my MH, buying parts to modify and driving with great car friends is the best tonic for me.
Great colour and definitely my favourite 911. My ultimate is the 997.2 but both stunning. Definitely better minus the wing and possibly the back tinted windows. Keep enjoying this stunning car.
Nice. Agree 911's always lift your mood. I have a current panamera and 992 c4s, the plan was to drive the 992 occasionally... but in reality I only use the panamera when I need the space. .
Very nice. I’ve toyed with both 992 and Panamera (sport turismo) over the years and I’ll never say never. Either way you’re smiling. Thanks and keep driving 👍🙏
I used to watch your channel a few years back and thought wow I would love a Porsche in speed yellow, guess what I've just recently bought a Carrera 4 GTS in speed yellow, what a car too ! 😊
Porsche "sports car" ownership only grows in appreciation.... Can't say the same for the other models; Pamemara, Taycan etc. Can't wait to get home today and listen to my 02, 3.2 liter, 6 speed 986 Boxster S with Fabspeed Exhaust, catless headers, IPD Plenum/TB etc. rocket to redline!!! Serenading those close enough to hear its roar 😂
Great video and car, and nice to talk men’s mental health 🤗.,I’ve had my 997.2 about 8 years now , (a pre-production launch car from Porsche GB) and the love affair just gets stronger. Bit like my wife of 40 years!😂, anyway I agree with most you say. Only observation I have with your car is although I love the looks of your lowered suspension, it does compromise the cars ride height and control a little by the looks of it down those bumpy country lanes. My car on standard 3.6ltr set up shocks & springs would just absorb all that bouncing & bottoming. Obviously standard doesn’t look as cool 😎 Anyway only my view so other than that yours is an awesome car👍☺️
Thanks. Yeah way the camera was set up is that it try’s to correct every little bump in the road. So it moves the screen around more. If you look at the main camera where I’m talking, that barely has any movement as I had it on a different setting and is more like what it’s really like inside. That being said, it is low. It does do my head in a little at time as the front splitter catches from time to time and you can hear it a couple of time in the video. Thanks for watching 👍
Great. 997.2 and beautiful aswell. Yes I’ve been thinking about it. Probably next year I’ll give it more attention. I actually have a lot of CD’s with great music on, so don’t mind just putting them on. Mad how CD’s are considered old school now though. 👍
I remembered when you first got this car, it was absolutely gorgeous! It was one of my inspiration to get my 1st 911. I purchased a 997.2 soon after watching your videos of this car. I'm so glad you have kept it all these years. PS leave the tail off, your 997 looks much more natural, pure and sexy without it.
Agree 100% with the ability to go for a drive to lift myself up and change my mood. Mine a 987 but same feeling that in my 30 years of driving haven't been able to do. Great video
Thanks. Appreciate that. Yep it doesn’t matter what porsche it is, they all give that same feeling. Forgetting about the numbers sometimes key to enjoying it properly & living in the moment 👍
I do like the 991 don’t get me wrong, but the 997 (especially this one) holds a dear place in my heart. I may not feel the same if it was a different 997 who knows. You’re gonna be smiling like a Cheshire Cat no matter which one you drive though. Thanks 🙏
Standard S/A with eibach pro springs. Drop is about 23/30mm (the springs were installed to the car when I bought it so can’t say 100% for sure) thanks 🙏
This is one of the nicest 997s I’ve seen, love the Fuchs wheels on it, looks awesome! I totally agree with the mental health aspect, I’ve always found driving good for the soul, especially when you’ve hooked up with the car and everything is flowing smoothly, it’s like nothing else. I’ve just bought a brand new 992.1 GTS having traded my 991.1 for it, but the plan is to find a 997 in the coming year and have to get those wheels, it’s such a classic combination!
I've been following you for years, and I always enjoy your content. Keep up the great work, mate. I'd love a modern 911 but for now I'm happy with my 1983 SC 😊

Yeah I think the repair money is forgotten about when your back in the seat on those twisty roads with a smile on your face 👍

Hit the nail on the head my friend. There’s a lasting effect to driving these cars. Stimulating in more ways that people probably think. Thanks 🙏
Great colour and definitely my favourite 911. My ultimate is the 997.2 but both stunning. Definitely better minus the wing and possibly the back tinted windows. Keep enjoying this stunning car.
Thanks man. Yes I’ve had a lot of cars come and go during ownership of this car, and there’s definitely substance to that. Thanks 🙏
Great to hear 👍
Driving and detailing my 981 is my time to decompress. Never had yhst feeling with any of the other cars ive owned.
Great stuff. Yep i agree detailing can be a good therapy 👍
My fav Porsche you have on the channel, I do like it with that aero wing as well 👍🏻
Thanks man. Yeah I’ve still got the wing so can put it on whenever I see fit. Thanks 🙏
Well said and great looking car I am still saving for one will get there one day
Thanks
Dave
Good stuff stick to the plan and you’ll get it 💪👍

Great to hear. Ooh GTS I bet that’s tasty. Congrats 🙌
I got a non 4 997 GTS in speed yellow ... wondering how many they GTS are in yellow
@@Carsaddiction would be interesting to know, such a great colour !

Nothing comes close does it. 👍👍🙌
@alsatch_ There is literally "no substitute" 😄
Stunning car but the number plate spacing needs sorting in my opinion
Thanks. 🙏

i purchased my 997 in 2016 - still love it. Any future plans of upgrading your radio to PCM plus system Porsche has recently came out with?

Thank you. Congrats on your 997.2 they are also fabulous cars. Many happy miles ahead for sure 👌
Love the car, you’re vids and car gave me the push I needed to buy my Speed yellow 997
Great stuff they stand out lovely colour. 👍🙏

Hi and thank you for the content. Can you do a video about the headlamp washers and the heated seats losing their settings if the battery goes flat.
Thanks I’ll have a look into that see what I can find.
Awesome spec
Thank you sir 🙏
I’ll let the misses know I’m buying one later then 😂
Haha definitely. You might want to buy her flower’s & chocolates first though as a sweetener 😂🤞
I think I’ll need more than that 😂👍
Do you like your 997 more than the 991 you used to have?
I do like the 991 don’t get me wrong, but the 997 (especially this one) holds a dear place in my heart. I may not feel the same if it was a different 997 who knows. You’re gonna be smiling like a Cheshire Cat no matter which one you drive though. Thanks 🙏
Great video!! Can’t wait to get my 997. Are you powered on coilovers or springs? How many inches is it dropped, it looks perfect!
Standard S/A with eibach pro springs. Drop is about 23/30mm (the springs were installed to the car when I bought it so can’t say 100% for sure) thanks 🙏

Stunning car mate i have the titanium exhaust 200 cell cats on mine
I bet that sounds brilliant 👍🤩
Aye got gt3 throttle body as well the thing about 911 it's all behind you you spend all that Dosh and your driving away from the sound
I've been following you for years, and I always enjoy your content. Keep up the great work, mate. I'd love a modern 911 but for now I'm happy with my 1983 SC 😊
Last time i saw your channel was with the 987! Seems like years ago! Glad to see your still porsche rockin!
Get the PCCM+, it‘s such a nice upgrade..
Thanks. Yep it’s on the list for next year. Cheers 👍
Hi could you please let me know where you purchased the wheels from - really inspired me to get one thanks
They are Kersher wheels if you look on my video where the thumbnail says ‘what the fuch’ it shows you where to get them and the specs 👍
Body kit ruins it
Ok I mean it’s a factory fitted kit that that is on the gt3 cars from factory. All oem 👍
I think the aero kit makes it … must have in my opinion 👌
Interesting content. Keep up the good work on your channel. Regards, WR4K.
Thank you 🙏
Nice video
Thank you 🙏
