Stunning! The corner edge worked out beautifully. This would look beautiful in my home in Florida. It would fit right in with the tropical birds here.
I want to do this so badly. I have a small bureau we use as a side table beside our couch. I’ve decided to paint it with chalk paint and apply molded flowers to the sides. 🤞 I’m 74. I need to live to 120 to do all the things I want to do. Thank you once again for sharing your talent and knowledge with us.
    ❤ Shirley
PS. Why does Mr. M keep hiding? He’s adorable!

I am an old woman (81). previously a DIYer my entire life to decorate my homes with my projects. I certainly wish we had had rice paper decoupage back in my youth. What a wonderful product and beautiful transfers available.

A tool suggestion. Sewists have an awesome cutting tool, looks like a pizza cutter and is incredibly sharp, called a rotary cutter. Because it rotates, it will not pull and tear your paper like the craft knife will. Your work is stunning.

I commented before the end and had to pop back on and say how much I love the end result, especially the gold foil! That's one thing I am addicted to, it adds such a gorgeous decadent aged look and is so much better than slapping on gold paint or ... God forbid, gold spray paint! lol And the aged leather!! Wow! I have had the absolute worst time trying to find a good crackle medium... they just won't do as they're told! lol But this really looks wonderful and you didn't even use a crackle medium! I think I may try this on the top of a little table but add an embossed stencil... if that would still work with the chunky paint. The wax always works so well giving it an authentic antique look. And I love using the red as as a base coat for the gold foil, you did a fantastic job! This is truly a work of art!! And please, never worry about the length of your videos, you always leave us wanting to see more! I was going to take it easy today but I think I need to paint something!!
Thank you soooo much! Such a pleasure to watch an artist creating!! I may need to binge on a few more of yours, then off to the races! lol
Much love and gratitude from Montreal!

The project is lovely! One idea, if you want all three sides of your chest to have the same “canvas” texture, adhere a single sheet of plain tissue and paint over that, just like you have on the detail work on front and other side.

Well done Jonathon! This piece turned out so lovely, and I especially like the gold leafing detail finished off with the dark wax. One thing I did not know was how to simulate the “leather” look on the top. I like it! You did such a fine job on the details on the paper itself. I purchased an old dresser for myself using decoupage and chalk paint, even enhanced some of the areas on the paper. I can’t wait for it to get warmer and all the snow we have to melt away so I can get started on a couple pieces of furniture I collected. I find working on furniture so relaxing and therapeutic. Stunning and classy piece.... Youre a talented man....i havent done decoupage before but i want to give it a go.... Ive been busy using shabby chic techniques on furniture in my home but i have a whole barn full of other people's unwanted dark furniture that ive been collecting to give a new lease of life to and sell on ....
Youve inspired me today thank you...

I watched every delightful minute of this session. What a delight to watch. In real time as you carefully apply every drop of paint, wax, and decoupage. I learn so much from you. And you gracefully show us it's ok to play with colors. It's ok to get paint on your sleeves, and just do something artistic. Your talents are boundless. Ponds and birds are my favorite scenery which I enjoyed in Florida this winter.
